Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:Picklerage.

How old are you?:13 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:Pacific Time Zone/United States of America.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:Yes, I do.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:I am an ambitious and devoted gamer, normally only playing 1-2 games at a time and playing as often as I can. I follow all the rules and try to help out and keep things inline to the best of abilities. I get really into the game and try to advance my character as much as I can.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:I will likely be on for about 2-3 hours a day during the summer, but less when school comes back around. Then I will probably be on for about 1 hour a day, depending on how much work I have. On the weekends (during the summer) I will probably play for 2-3 hours a day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:What Roleplaying means to me is pretending to be a character of someone or something that you are not in real life. The character that someone is acting out can be very similar or largely different to the persona of the player in real life. Normally there are many players playing as fictional characters in a time period and/or setting than what they are in in real life.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:I have played many RPGs, including Runescape, World of Warcraft, and other RPGs and MMORPGs. I have also played on another RPG Minecraft server.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:I think that Meta-Gaming is the act of using information obtained out of the game or in a way that you would not be able to if the game were real life. This could include using information from ooc, skype, or other method of talking out of the game/character. This could also be abusing game mechanics that don't work with the Roleplaying, such as the nametags above peoples' heads. For example if you see someone's nametag coming after you and you can't yet acctually see them, you can't run away from them.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:I believe that the act of Power-Emoting is not fully acting out the Roleplaying, or doing Roleplay acts that the player the acts are being performed on/against can't prevent or react to. For example this could be replying to the action of "John the bandit surprises Alex the merchant by jumping out of the trees and demands money" with "Alex the merchant saw John the bandit before he jumped out of the trees and kills John the bandit". This is Power-Emoting because there was nothing John could do to prevent Alex from killing him, and he didn't get fair warning. Power-Emoting could also be someone doing this: "John the bandit surprises Alex the merchant by jumping out of the trees and demands money, but Alex the merchant doesn't give it to him so John the bandit kills Alex the merchant".

What do you expect this server will be like?:I expect this server to be organized and well kept, which it has appeared to be from what I have seen and read of it, have good roleplay, and have a good economy/mechanics.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:I have played on several raiding and faction servers, but I left all of them due to hacking and cheating. I have also played on some build, prison, and quest server, but I left due to the repetitive nature of them.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes, I have thoroughly read the rules, and I understand them well.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:Yes, I will abides by the rules and laws of the server and game.

How did you hear about us?:I heard about the sever from the first time Petridagamernerd was making videos on the server.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:No, I have not previously made an application.

In-Character:

Character Name:Jason Swinther the Ironhearted

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):Northerner

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):Jason Swinther was born and raised in Northern Asulon. He loved wrestling and play fighting with his friends in the deep, fluffy, pure white snow that covered the land. Jason's family consisted of his mother, father, and one sister, whom all lived in a humble brick house with only two bedrooms and beds, and a single furnace to heat the whole house. Jason's connections with his family were very interseting and varying.

His mother owned and worked at the only bakery for miles around, which Jason always thought was because her bread was as fluffy as clouds and her pies tasted as if they had came straight from heaven. Although she spent much of her time at work, Jason's mother was extremely loving and caring, nurturing her children to the best of her abilities.

Jason's father was a completely different story. He was a hardened man that had spent the majority of his life hammering away at the forges, working as a blacksmith. The work was hard and the pay little, and at heart he simply was a cold man. The nights when he was home he was always disappointed of his son and daughter. Even while Jason did all that he could to please him, he could never do enough.

Finally there was his sister. Jason was very close to her and shared a deep connection with his sibling. They liked all the same food, had all the same hobbies, and thought all the same things. She was one of the few good things in his life.

As Jason grew up, he realized he wanted to be a knight. Although everyone laughed at him because his family had almost no money, and absolutely no hold in the royal world, Jason was determined to get there. He trained with an older man, who claimed to once have been a great knight, along with his best friend John. The two boys looked almost exactly alike; they both had medium length dirty blond hair, chiseled features, blue eyes, and stood 6 feet tall. As the time passed both Jason and John became great swordsmen and archers, and were fairly decent at wrestling. Neither of the boys fancied being craftsmen, and had no knowledge of mining or woodcutting. But soon their lives would be completely turned around.

When a large group of rogue knights began to attack, the two best friends were almost excited. This was their chance to finally get recognition. Both of them enlisted in the army and immediately got accepted and sent out into the field to battle the attackers. No amount of training could have prepared the two for what they faced. The small army of evil knights were far more experienced and skilled that either of the boys, despite their years of training. The first few villages they were sent out to battle the attackers at, the villages were already pillaged and destroyed, the citizens either missing or dead. When they finally met the knights face to face, the small Northerner army was pushed back by the rogues. This carried on and on, and the two friends lost their boyish excitement that they had at fist.

One night, the completely unexpected happened. After returning from a long and hard fought battle, the boys caught wind of news that Dawnvole, their hometown, had been attacked. Ignoring both orders and protocol, the boys rushed out to their hometown as fast as they could. When they got there, they were devastated to find the entire village up in flames. Jason and John split up and rushed to their old houses where their families still lived. When Jason got to his house, he could not believe his eyes. His family lay dead on the floor, their bodies maimed and limp. He dropped to his knees, wanting to give up on life when he heard a scream from the other side of the village. Jason rushed to where he knew John would be, just in time to witness his best and only friend being violently murdered. Jason muffled his screams, and lay hidden behind some barrels until the rouge knights left the village, and accidentally fell asleep.

The next day, Jason's heart was made of hard, cold metal. There was no one and nothing for him to lave anymore. He felt like just giving up and staying there until he melted into the earth. But he didn't. The fresh burning hot memories of the dead bodies of his loved ones were what kept him going. He vowed to exact revenge on all the evils of the world, no matter if they had a part in his companions' deaths or not. So he fled the village, fled from everything he knew until he knew of nothing around him. Finally, on his 23rd birthday, he stopped and finally settled down. Now the only thing he remembered from where he came from was his friend John, the memory of him set too deeply in Jason's heart to ever forget him. It was then that Jason began his mission to wipe all evil from the face of the earth.

What are your Character's ambitions?:Jason Swinther's ambitions are to kill and get rid of all evil in the world, all while advancing his fighting skills, both swordmanship and archery.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):Jason's favorite weapon is the sword, the only thing that protects him and gives him the ability to kill the beasts that took his life from him.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?Jason's most skilled talent is swordfighting. He trained in the mountains for years, practicing with a great knight and his friend John.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ):http://imgur.com/a/11qOu

Other Information about your Character:Jason has forgotten all the names of his family members, the memories of them too painful to think of. The only thing he remebers from his past life is John, his image so powerfully etched into Jason's mind the he will never forget him.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?Jason is walking along the road from the Cloud Temple, when before him in the distance he notices a small man getting roughed up by two larger and armed men. Jason puts his hand on the hilt of his sword, and quickens his pace. When he is just ten feet from the men, Jason shouts "Oi! You there! What have you to be angry at this man for?" attracting the attention of the warriors. One of the men snickers and shouts back "Tha little twerp was gettin' in mah way, whats it to you?". Jason draws his sword, points it at the man who is now walking towards him and replies "You leave him alone alright? If you hurt tha' man, then I'll 'urt you! You got that?" While both of the men are looking at Jason, the halfling takes the opportunity to escape. The man who hasn't spoken notices and begins to chase the halfling, but his heavy armor weighs him down and the halfling manages to get away. The other warrior sees this and, enraged, draws his sword and swings at Jason. Jason remembers all that he has learned from his training, and with in 30 seconds he has slashed the other mans arm. "Ay!" the warrior shouts "Alright, alright, please, dun kill me!". Jason listens to him, and steps back, but says "There, but this is the last time ye will be causing a fight." Jason then proceeds to call over the nearby city guards who take the man away. Jason sheaths his sword, glad that there is one less bit of evil to take care of in the world.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? As Jason continues to explore Asulon, he heads to Alras, the nearest city, to restock and get a rest. Jason wanders around the city looking for a good inn to grab a flagon of ale from and to have a nights rest, but as he turns a corner he is greeted by a merchant who is selling his wares in a small stall. "'ello there, what can I do you for today?" the merchant says to Jason. Jason quickly scans the merchant's selection, and a box of arrows and a loaf of bread catch his eye. "How much fer the arrows" Jason questions the merchant, who replies with "40 for a chest of 'em. Do yer want ta buy them?". Jason says "Sure, and how much fer a loaf of bread?" to which the merchant says "8 for a loaf, how many ya fancy?". Jason whistles and replies "My god, that sure is a hefty price for just a lil' loaf o' bread. I guess I'll just take two of 'em then.". The merchant says "'ey, it's the middle of winter, there is nothin' I can do to lower the prices, they ar' low enough already." The merchant hands over the arrows and two loaves of bread, the holds out his hand which Jason dumps 56 gold coins into. Jason tosses the items into his bag then carries on.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:As Jason is wandering through the woods, he notices a small hut tucked in between some trees, the door wide open. Out of curiosity Jason walks over to the house and steps inside the house, and a open chest immediately catches his eye. The chest contains a few iron bars and a golden sword. The hut is obviously abandoned, and Jason hasn't seen anyone or even the evidence of anyone else on his journey through the woods. Still, Jason ponders whether or not he should take it. Maybe somebody would come back here and their stuff would be gone. But in the end, Jason decided that the hut very likely was abandoned, and that these items would, in the long run, help him on his mission to vanquish all evil.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?Jason has been trekking though the wilderness for days, and his food supply has long since vanished. He has been turned around many times, and he has absolutely no idea where he is. As he stumbles over a hill, he discovers a small trading camp down by the bottom of the hill, nestled in some trees. Jason eagerly makes his way over to the trading camp, hoping that he might get some assistance from the residents. When he gets to the camp, he is greeted in the common tongue. Jason replies "'ello to ya too. Sorry ta be asking for sumthin so soon, but I am starvin' and I have no idea where I am. Could ya please spare a bit of food, and maybe a place to rest for just 'un night?" The leader of the camp considered this for a moment then replied "We can give ye just a bed of hay for a night, but we are runnin' a bit low on food so all we can spare is a bit of bread and some wa'er." Jason, very excited, thanks the man "Thank you, thank you so much. Also, do ya happen to know where we are located?" The man tells Jason where they are in relation to the nearest city, gives him the food, and shows him where he can sleep. Jason thanks him greatly, and sleeps a better sleep than he has for a while.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:Jason has just bought some wheat and mead from the local market, and is on his way home to dine on the meal. As he is just about to reach his house, he notices all of the towns' guardsmen gathered by the front gate. Wondering what is going on, Jason walks over to the group of men and asks them what the occasion is. The Chief of the Guard answers Jason "Tonight we will be sending out all our men to scourge the bandits that have been harming our people and scaring away visitors from our town. We will search all of the forest 'till we find those fawkin' criminals. Would ye care to join us? There will be a reward for anyone who joins us." At the first mention of helping out Jason had already made his decision. "Yes," Jason said "I would love ta come 'nd help ya out. Just give me a minute to get mah gear together." Jason dropped off the food and geared up in his sword and small bits of deteriorating armor. He got to the group of guards and they immediately set out to find the bandits.

After several hours of searching the forest around the town the group was losing hope, when from not too far off one of the scouts that was further out from the main group shouted for assistance. The group of 30 men rushed over to where there voice had come from, and were met with two scouts fighting with three bandits. The second the bandits saw the large group, they dropped their weapons and sprinted off, but there were too many men for them to escape and they were surrounded. The guardsmen closed in, and a few of the men, one of them being Jason, jumped onto the bandits knocking them down and putting them in shackles. While a few of them men kept guard over the prisoners, the rest of the group, examined the camp. Quite quickly the men found several stashes of gold items and jewelry, and cheered over the spoils. After gathering up all the stolen goods, then town guard marched back to the town with the prisoners.

Once inside the loot and bandits were taken care of, and the Chief approached Jason. "Aye, you over there," the Chief said to Jason "Thanks you for your help. For it, you can have this golden goblet to do whatever you like with it, sell it or keep it." He reached out to give it to Jason, but Jason held back his hands and said "Thank ya for the offer, but I canno' take that. You, the guards, will be able to make much better use and protect the city better with that than I would be able to. You keep it, it is in my interest to keep the people safe, not increase my personal wealth." The guard looked shocked that Jason rejected the offer as he walked off back to his house. Jason was satisfied with his decision, yet again knowing that it was for the greater good.
