So, You're A Wandering Soul ~

If you're reading this you're most likely a Wandering Soul that has been either linked here in Wandering Soul Chat, or you're simply looking around. Otherwise, you may be a member who's just decided they wanted a little read. What the following post aims to do is detail how you get accepted to the Lord of the Craft server, as it appears quite a lot of people in-game do not understand. This post will explain in full the stages of applying, and how it works.

"Gettin' the Feel"

Before you apply for the server, it is highly recommended that you log onto the server as a Wandering Soul, as this allows you to adventure the world without being whitelisted. As a Wandering Soul you are unable to do anything except fly around and talk to other Wandering Souls and helpers in the WSC (Wandering Soul Channel).

Wandering Souls are members that have not been accepted to the server via our Whitelisting System, and therefore are unable to fully play. Once you've posted an application and had it accepted then you are turned into a Normal Player - which allows you to actually play the server as it is.

Wandering Soul Chat is of course moderated constantly, by the Application Team as well as GMs. Whilst in this channel we ask that you stick to the server rules, and refrain from:

  • Swearing
  • Advertising
  • Trolling
  • Spamming
  • Or being abusive to other players.

Pretty much - act maturely and responsible. There's always a GM, Application Team member or even a normal server member there happy to provide assistance to you with any questions you may have.

Registration

Before you can even consider applying you need to Register on the forums. The registration process is very simple and requires no walk-through. If you have trouble at any time during this process do not hesitate to contact a member of staff regarding your problem.

Reading Up

Before you write your application you should ensure you have a decent knowledge of what you're applying as and of the server's basic lore. You can find all of this on the Wiki however, you can also find a lot of details such as this by asking in-game in the Wandering Soul Chat, or making a thread in the Application Support and Help forum.

People on the Lord of the Craft are always happy to help, and you'll probably get an answer within 10 minutes on a thread, or a minute in-game.

Once you have decided what type of character you want to play, and read up on the lore then you can make your Application.

Applying

I'm not going to waste your time here describing the Application Form, and how to apply. If you look inside the Application Guides forum -

right here - you'll see many a guide describing the Application Process.

However, what you may be confused with is the actual process. You may look at the Accepted Applications forum and think, "oh my - no apps get accepted". Don't worry! Once an Application is accepted it only goes there for a certain amount of time (at this point the player is still a Wandering Soul), before a GM implements the Application, which pretty much whitelists you to our server. At this point the Application is moved to Implemented Applications. Any denied application is moved to Denied Applications - and has the reasons for said denial listed on it.

If you are applying as an orc then your Application will likely take longer to be read than that of another race - this is because we have only specific members of the Application Team working on Orcish Applications due to their intricate and detailed lore.

Remember when applying to stick to the Application Rules, which can be found

here. Failure to do so will result in a denial.

Once Implemented

Once you've been Implemented you are a normal player, huzzah! Make sure you remember to stick to your character and to follow server rules. If you wish to return to Wandering Soul Chat, to speak with any friends or to help applicants, you simply type /ch ws in-game, then type /ch rp once done!

If you get stuck at any point in-game, you can do a /modreq or you can read through the numerous guides that have been created for New Players, which can be found

here.

Hopefully this aided you in understanding the way the Application System works. If you feel anything has been missed then post it below.

Would it be a good idea to get this displayed on the main page? So that people can definitely see it, as some people don't think to check or just do not know where to look. :)

Hello, I am attempting to log in as a Wandering Soul to survey the server and get a feel for it, to know if i wish to apply, but the server does not allow me to do so. May someone explain why that is and how to solve the problem?

I have had this problem as well

I think it's because the Wandering Soul plugin doesn't really exist right now. :P It was probably removed, but hopefully they'll put it back because being a wandering soul was lovely~ Aaaaand it really helps to get a feeling of the cities in the server! But right now, the best thing to do is read guides and lore! :)

I have been accepted, but when i join the server, i am a wondering soul

I assume you haven't been implemented yet. You have been accepted which means that a member of the Application Team has reviewed your application and accepted you, once a GM sees it you will be whitelisted.

Edit: You've been whitelisted, have fun.
