*Gulroid Goldhand emerges from the depths of the Goldhand hold, his robes streaked with dust and mortar. He squints as he emerges into the sunlight. There is a grimace clear on his face as he holds up a hand to block the sun from his eyes. Under one arm he carries several posters. Systematically he goes around the surface buildings pinning up posters.

Attention Kal'Alrasians,

After discussions between Goldhand clan members it has been decided that Kal'Alras will once again join the Kingdom of Karik with Kal'Alras serving as the Goldhand Clan Hold. This will result in several changes around the city.

First, the two Dwarves in charge of the city will be Lord Gulroid Goldhand, and Overseer Rasun Goldhand. They are to be treated with the utmost respect at all times. In addition, any direct command issued by a Goldhand is to be followed to the best of the recipient's ability. Insubordination will not be tolerated. Grievances will be solved by any on-sight guards. In the case of long standing disputes a trial will be held presided over by a group of Goldhands.

Secondly, as a hold under the Kingdom of Karik any laws or edicts by the King of the Dwarves are to be followed as if laws of Kal'Alras.

Thirdly, there will be notices posted shortly on economic and military reforms.

~Lord Gulroid Goldhand

*Penned under the notice is the Goldhand Clan Crest.

After Silvos had read the notice, he heads back home. 'It's a good thing, if ye'd ask me.' he tells the cook. 'At least there's a clear view of who's in charge. As I've said before, the dwarves will do good to Alras. It has gotten alot better last 3 elven weeks. As long as there'll be no looking down on High Elves, I'm completely fine with it.'

The Elf, upon entering the city through the gates, notices a notice on the side of the Bakery and, before turning to head to his Farming Shop, walked over to the notice and read it, his smile slowly falling. He almost couldn't believe what he had just read.

"So, that is what the Goldhands were up to, down there, eh?"

Caseus said with a sigh.

"Well, If this Gulroid person thinks that he deserves my respect, then I hope he's able to earn it. I look up to Rasun, but I have no idea who this new "Lord" is. Sounds too much like the title that those richer, higher up families use, and they are almost always snobbish."

Turning around, the Elf headed to his shop, trying not to fear the worse.

Seeing Caseus frown upon the notice, Silvos could not help but talk to him. 'What's the problem? Us elves don't usually go into the dwarven district anyway. And believe me, lord Gulroid is trustable. I have seen him fight, he is a good dwarf.'

Caseus would halt at the voice of Silvos, his friend. He knew that this would be a long talk, so, setting down his sack by the bench, the Elf rubbed his worn fingers between his tired eyes as he looked to the ground, speaking to the High Elf.

"Silvos, my friend. I have worked so hard to please Kjell. I never knew that, before I met him, that I would have to work so hard to gain his trust. I may be over thinking this. But, what if Gulroid is the same way. I thought that I had it easy, finally, for the last few months. And now, I have to give in to, yet, another authority that, of which, I have no idea about?"

The elf would sigh as he laid back onto the bench, staring up into the Sun-lit sky. The Sun, giving him comfort from it's warmth, before he finally looked to Silvos, an exhausted smile on his face.

"Maybe you are right, and maybe he is a good, kind Dwarf. But, I have seen things, Silvos, things that I never wish to see again. I will respect Gulroid, for Rasun, but that is it. Until Gulroid shows his loyalty to the City and his honor...He will only be, to me, like Kjell was, before he gained my respect. This may be the tired me talking...But I made a promise to a Friend, that I would show kindness to all. But it has been hard, and the Dwarfs have made it so. Between you and me."

He said, leaning forward, in a whisper.

"I find it easier to show respect to most Orcs, than some Dwarfs."

The Elf fell back again, a pained frown on his face at how he had just trusted Silvos with that. But he didn't care, how could he?

Hearing what Caseus had just said, Silvos left without saying a word. He restocked the Tailor's shoppe, went to Harlun'or, came back, and found Caseus at the farmer's shoppe. Tapping his staff on the wooden floor once, he said: 'Respect is a thing most of us do not know how to handle. It is a feeling, yet it holds power like a golden sword. If you truly respect certain orcs, that is your choice. Yet you should know, that Gulroid has done a lot for Kal'Alras. And it will not be necessary for you to prove yourself to him. Rasun knows, Aeven knows, I know... How much you've been doing for Kal'Alras. That is enough.' After having said that, Silvos walks out of the shoppe, saying one last word. "Van'ayla"

Watching Silvos leave, the Elfs mouth was hanging open a little. Of course, Silvos was right. Caseus' effort to support the city of Kal'Alras, had been much appreciated by all. He was always forgetting just how much everyone appreciates him and he couldn't help but blush a little. He had, once again, been foolish. Maybe he had been wrong to think of Gulroid as so, so quickly. Maybe he could show as much respect to Gulroid, as he does Rasun.

The Elf smiled as he cleaned off the counter, deep in thought.

Toran slowly walks into Kal Alras with some notes in his hands, slowly putting them in his pocket as he walks to the fountain in the middle of Kal Alras and looks around as he adjust the neckless that is resting on his chest. He shouts and soon enough a small crowd gathers around him as he continues to shout and talk to the people.

"In the last few elven weeks I've seen this once empty city grow into a boiling, ever growing and lovely place with lots of people who I have the honour to call friends. A clanhold to my knowledge always consists of militia, workers and the "almighty" dwarven clan, no offense to Gulroid or Rasun but this is still a city not a clanhold.. there are people here besides the casual clanhold members, you call them citizens! And you have every right to be treated as such thus me nor anyone of the Goldhand family should be able to order you around in a slave or worker kind of manner... we are not to be put on a pedestal as were not gods after all! That doesn't mean that you can ignore orders or anything else the family asks you for but please don't forget you arent slaves in any kind of way... not to me anyways I know Rasun thinks the same way too so if Gulroid thinks otherwise so be it but then let him explain his reasons!"

Toran slowly looks around as the crowd is cheering slowly, he smiles and looks around spotting his father and he quickly walks over.

At last, Silvos leaves the city and heads back to his estate. On his way back, he talks into the air, as if there were many of his past friends listening.

"The city rose again." *sigh* "Oh, Alras. Will you ever change?

Will there ever be an era in which you will not fall to a new regime?"

"Of course not. Alras has always been this way, and this way it shall stay. Forever changing, falling and rising. Alras is a pheonix, my friends. Thus, it shall rise. We can only hope for Queen Kyral that she may lead this city to the victory it doesn't deserve."

"You heard me. The victory it doesn't deserve. This city is unstable, unwilling and holds the wrong people. For too long, this city has been lead by the wrong people. I've said it before, and say it again I will: This city has a lot of work that needs to be done. And not just by the new inhabitants. This last era, I've done everything I can for Kal'Alras. I've helped gain wood, supplied clothing, and order. Yet the dwarves restricted me. Now, the time has come to do it once again.

Hopefully, it'll be worth it this time."

*And with that, Silvos closes the door of his manor behind him. He heads upstairs, and falls on his bed, exhausted.

Thoak passes by the notice board nearly missing the note, but then notices that there is something new on the board, and brings himself back to it. He eyes the note for a moment, and then begins to read it. After reading it, he mutters to himself, and looks about hoping there is no one near.

"Hrmm... looks like we be goin' beck tae square one. I also wonder if tae meetin' Gulroid mentioned is goin' tae 'appen, an' tae biddy takin' ova' Kal'Alras."

Thoak shakes his head in disbelief, and continues his way back to the Goldhand Keep.
