(Serious Ooc Note To Everyone In Arethor)

(This is plainly OOC.

As everyone who has ever been in Arethor knows, a lot of peole seem to want to get up on the roofs. Knights say, "Get of the roofs!" and people just ignore.

As a Knight I find this INCREDIBLY annoying and completely Un-RP. Who in their right minds would ever just climb up on the roofs and the walls if they weren't meant to. Not to meantion that if you run across them, you'd most likely just slip off and fall.

I am asking everyone to please just stop the hopeless attempts of trying to get attention, and just not get on top of the walls or roofs.

The only person who I've ever seen fit to be on the roof tops is Laku (watyll). His character has rp reasons and he has rped it very well.

Other than that, happy rping.)

((I disagree. If the person can justify being up there they have every right to. If a character likes annoying orenians, let them do it.))

(Well, telling people not to go on the roofs of buildings will get them to do it even more. The best solution would be just to ignore them, and if they're doing anything bad just imprison them.)

( Then again, a knight is a knight. A man in armour, who's also an authority figure. He's better than you, and you should listen to him. I mean, if your character has no respect or fear of consequence then go ahead )

(Half the people that I see up there have absolutely no right to be up there. No one cares to think of how they would really act if a Knight was pointing a bow at them and saying, "Get down or I'll kill you." There's a reason that it's a law. Assassins decide to use the roofs as a way to sneak.)

If I remember rightly, there are several archer NPC's on the walls. I would not climb up on a roof with armed archers nearby, who can obey a Knight's every beck and whim, and not be punished for it.

I've also seen people jump from roof to roof in the rain, with a dress on. Come on now, people.

(On another note, I personally think the Oren Guard should be brought back. Despite the fact that half of them were annoying as hell and complete noobs, they got the job done. Have at least 5 of them in Arethor at any one time, and problem solved. Known roof jumpers would not be let inside, and if people were caught on the roofs, the guard would team up and catch these people. Seems like a decently fine solution, and it'll give the knights a break.)

(I like your idea. I'm gonna talk with Godfrey about that ICly.)

Perhaps you should have some lightly armoured 'patrol' guards, who are quick enough to dash up onto the roofs and nab those pesky roof jumpers. These guards would also be useful in other situations, since they are highly mobile and can outmaneuver some enemies.

Think parkour with knives.

Again, there is no fear of consequence. What's the worst that can happen to a roof climber? Their life certainly isn't in danger...

('The Oren Ninja League' perhaps...? :) )

If I fell off a roof, i'd probably break something. Probably my neck. People should fear heights more...

Perhaps instill fear. I can tell you every time I go to Oren to cause any, even small amount, of conflict rp it ends in a pvp fest with the odds obviously in Oren's favor. People don't fear pvp, people fear fearful rp, and Oren does not give it. Sure, they are power gaming, but they are only half the problem. That's all I am saying, two sides to every coin.

(1 Elven week jail time is what would be needed. That'd put them in their place :D)
