Though I tend to avoid roof climbing, my character wears boots with special spikes almost like the spikes on would wear for walking on ice, and these are attached to the bottom of his boots which can be seen on my skin, though I tend to use them only for rp safety reasons when forced to climb over rocks and such during mining or fighting. Perhaps if you start a light infantry guard to keep people off the roofs adding something like these spikes to their boots would add an rp reason as to why they can move around without fear of falling and keep a steady footing should they need to fight/shoot.
