Conquest:

Conquest is the act of military subjugation of an enemy by force of arms. In other words it is the de jure incorporation of some territory into another geo-political entity (either adjacent or non-contiguous). Usually, it is implied that the territory and population being annexed is the smaller, more peripheral, and weaker of the two merging entities, barring physical size.

Opposing Faction: The Teutonic Order

Defending Faction: City-States of Levanthus

Name of the battle: Purging the Primitives

Location:

MB2TM.png

Time: 5pm PST, Friday August 17th.

Terms: Anything goes.

Rewards: region/biome swaps ownership

*Mirtok sits alone in the Hansetian Embassy, a fire crackles behind him and a quiet tune plays from the jukebox. The Hochmeister turns a page in a book that lays in front of him before dipping a large quill in ink and scrawling a few lines of text. He lets out a slight sigh and a smile as he wipes the dust from the page. Mirtok picks up the book- allowing it to fall shut- revealing the title to the air; Primitives and Mutants. The book slides into an empty space on the shelf and the Hochmeister stretches slightly.

*Mirtok looks over and watches the doors swing open and a large Sariant fill the gap of the doorway with his large mass. The armored juggernaut descends from the steps creating a heavy thud with each touchdown of his boots. He raises his arms up and unfastens his helmet-the sounds of rushing air and metallic clinking could be heard- showing the face of Dain. Dain shoulders the helmet and lays a bloodied ax onto the table.

“A new pile of Xeno corpses sits by the riverbank, the Plebeians are tending to their disposal.”

“This is good news my brother, and I have yet more to bring to attention. It appears there is a group of tribals left severely unchecked to the point of Imperial interest, Levanthus. I have pulled up the old files and reports about the region and compared them to the current stream that flows to my desk and I can say they are largely different from the men we knew.”

*Dain gives the Hochmeister a nod and watches the white haired soldier lean back and move an assortment of texts to the meeting table. The two study maps and field reports, deducing the value of the area and the aspects of its people.

“They are jeopardizing the Emperor’s will in several ways it seems. Not only do they drag down the human species, but they too house mutants in their ranks. Tribalistic and primitive life has no room in the Emperor’s future. Look there, to the north-east coast, a temple dedicated to a false diety. This will not stand, not as long as we have crosses on our chests and the Emperor on the throne.”

Dain chuckles “And I do not see any of those changing for a long time.”

*The cool airs of the Motherland, Hanseti, washes over the icy fields as one by one large hulks file into place. In front of them is a series of traditionally dressed Sariants and even further forward are the fresh Plebeians eager to prove themselves. Mirtok walks over to the balcony slowly with one hand gripping the mighty war hammer. He reaches the end and looks over to the inspiring spectacle of a legion of Black Crosses and the banners of his brothers flowing in the Hansetian wind. He raises the hammer up high and shouts below . . .

“What is our purpose?!”

*The ranks of Sariants and Plebeians echo back . . .

“To serve the Emperor’s will!”

“What is the Emperor’s will?!”

“For us to fight and die!”

“What is Death?!”

“It is our duty”

*Mirtok gives a slight nod and a hidden smile at the devout men below. So many loyal subjects of the Emperor ready to give up everything in his name. Men dedicated to upholding everything that is Godfrey and everything that he has brought to Oren. Mirtok lowers the large hammer and lets it rest on the stone railings before speaking once more . . .

“Where there is uncertainty, I shall bring light. Where there is doubt, I shall sow faith. Where there is shame, I shall point atonement. Where there is rage, I shall show its course. My word in the soul shall be as my bolter in the field. Soon we will leave the embrace of our Mother Land and ride out to meet the enemies of our great Emperor! We shall have the protective radiance of the Goddess Celestia and the shielding will of the God incarnate Emperor! For through the destruction of our enemies, we earn our salvation!”

*A roar is let out by the filed soldiers. Chants of eternal devotion and callings of ultranationalist phrases are quested once more by the rising hand of the Hochmeister. Mirtok continues . . .

“We do not know what our chances of survival are, so we fight as if they were zero. We do not know what we are facing, so we fight as if it was the dark god Iblees himself. No one will remember us now and we may never be buried beneath Mother Land soils, so we will build our own memorial there. The Order might lose us and the Empire might never know we existed, but the Enemy - the Enemy will know. The Enemy will remember. We will hurt them so badly that they will never forget us until the stars burn out, until the lands of Asulon are consumed in hellish balefire and the Emperor vanquishes them at the end of time. When the enemy is dying, their last thought will be of us. That is our memorial - carved into the heart of all those who oppose the Emperor’s will. We cannot lose, Sariants. We have already won!”

*Another cheer is let out from the crowd. Mirtok turns and makes his way to his keep. He walks up the many steps and travels through the long hallways until reaching the large stone throne that has served him well for many decades. The fabled Hochmeister’s helmet rests in ample space, the gold of the conquered kings of old Oren give off a slight sheen. Mirtok picks up the helmet and turns it over; two names are carved inside, Gaius Marius and Samuel Bealcrest. Names that have been forgotten for almost half a century, their legacy untold but not dashed away from the world. Mirtok once more rests the helmet on the chair muttering to himself an old war hymn that he used to chant as a simple grunt back in the days of the Old World. The forever Teuton walks out of the keep still humming the tune as he fades from sight by the blinding snow fall.

Remember the fallen, for they have given the ultimate sacrifice.

((

Who are you reffering to as primitives? Warhawkes? Also? How do you think Oren is being affected in any way when no one in levanthus has done anything to Oren? e.o

EDIT:::::

Wait wait? Is this land a part of Oren? Because I thought that the land was owned by levanthus/subudai?

(( This will be handled in RP, of course, but where you WCed in Sanctum, a village that is under Oren actually but Levanthus let the inhabitants use that land. Just a heads up, the person who would deal with this is probably asleep. ))

As so far as I know, I am absolutely fine with this. Mirtok is warclaiming some land that may land him with some Runes, albeit the language will be foreign to them, the way to decipher will lead them towards modern-day Karik and Kal'Anart. That being said, as I am no longer participating as Subudai, I have no say in 'yay or nay'. For those who are thinking 'Lolmagawsh he attacking Subudai', ironically the only village that lays in this area is very few portions of Sanctum. The Subudai have spread out into Asulon as well, so this land technically is not under 'Kingdom ruling' in the charter sense, but City-States to lay in the North, will they take interest, perhaps; it is not my place to dictate what people's roleplay response to this is. I wish the best of luck to my TO as well as my Subudai brethren in roleplaying this out. Keep it mature and keep it intelligent.

[[We'll have to negotiate something in game, because Sanctum is under Oren.

as in, the town in the bottom right quarter of your map.]]

(Info we do know that this is our land, but we made this so that we have firm control over said land as it has been long disputed)

( I really just wanted to make sure. Because from my thoughts it was a part of Levanthus territory. But w/e. If it actually is your land indicated on the map then just changed the region and say you already own it instead of barging in with an army and destroying most of the things. There is someone building an alright looking town right there and I would like to see it finished before it gets smashed by some teutonic order army. ;P )

Alright, this is where I stand confused, when was the land ever 'long disputed'? Insofar as I know, Coaster sent a letter, but got banned before he could properly receive response and delegate reply. This land ain't disputed as far as I can remember.

Exactly what I am confused about. If this is your land would you not just be able to walk in and just do what you want with it? I mean. It wouldnt matter much. Oren is probably one of the largest nations now and has the majority of the land in Asulon. I never disputed anything with you guys and me and my camp members are probably the most active place that is near it.

Likewise, Mogroka I ask respectfully to be the war-claim member who regulates this certain war-claim. As it stands, the other three including yourself are part of the aggressors and for the sake of objectivity and fairness, I wish to reside over this. Yes, I was ex-TO, as well as ex-Subudai; nonetheless I believe both parties will find me a suitable 'overseer' if you will.

I have no issues with you saying thats your land. I never knew it was your land. Never even heard of it being yours. Really the only time I thought it was subudai was because Gaius made some ruins for Rune magic that I really would like to be a part of/would like to learn/be a teacher (wink wink gaius) in one of the mountains. Thats the only time I thought that but I noticed that it was using the scuzzy region? And anyone can build in that region. Your essentially attacking a place in the wilds that really has no value. ( Yes. I find this actually slightly funny. )

(( So we're primitive for choosing to live in the comfort of small tents? Q___Q

It was an interesting read. But I say that about most people's works. Since everything that people make is interesting for me. Good job on the actual writing. But what the writing actually speaks of confuses me. I wasn't really sure what the reason for the war-claim was until I read the rest of the topic. I'm sure it's only because it's late for me. And my comprehension skill isn't at it's best at 2:30 am. =P

Nonetheless, interesting read.

Good luck on the reviewing of your war-claim.))

(Godfrey knows it part of Oren, technically, but Mirtok dose not know that, when I say its disputed what I mean by that is that, we do not have derect control over it, we claim its part of oren but do not have first hand control over it, and there are people there that do not pay servitude to Oren.)

((I'm just going to assume that this follows the rule of conquests and gives the defenders some warning so we can RP this out...))

*In a letter to the Hochmeister*

"The city of Sanctum, shown here on this map;

112g5z4.png

is under full control of Oren, being a Barony of the County of Carcasonne, that its self being a County under the Duchy of Auvergne. Sanctum is not yet at a point of full productivity, and until then, its services to provide to the empire are, naturally, limited. The men of Sanctum are not the same men from the primitive northern settlements, but most of us hail from the much more enriched lands of existing duchies.

Force against Sanctum is in no way necessary, for doing so would only harm loyal members of the great empire.

-Count Gracchi of Carcasonne.
