An Urgent Note

*A note hastily scrawled is posted on the notice board, the handwriting neat, yet written fast.*

Me fellow Halflings of the Vale. It has come to my attention that we are in grave danger from possible Orc attacks. Just last night, I was given quite a chase by two of the brutes, and narrowly escaped. I feel some plan must be made or some law put intact in order to help keep our fellow Halflings of the Vale safe in their own homes. How can we live in a place where we may be attacked at any moment? While no place is safe from danger, we seem to be the most exposed. Now, we should not take up arms, as would cause even more fear, but I beleive something must be done. Here are my ideas:

*All Halflings must learn the way to the Vale, and any non-Halflings must be shown the way by a known Halfling, and must be in the presence of said Halfling at -all- times.

*Tear the boat down. The boat is public transportation, public meaning any brute or bandit may come and harm our humble dwelling. This could tie into the first option, as the Halflings would learn the way to The Vale, and not require a boat to reach there.

*If outsiders are seen, meaning non-halflings that are not in the presence of a known Halfling, that the Halflings of the Vale must hide. This could be managed by making a secret door to a cellar, small basement, somewhere to hide until the coast is clear.

*"Guards" of sorts. Do not get me wrong on the phrase "Guards". These men or women would not be given weapons, armor, so on. They would be simply look-outs. These voulenteers would have to be the quickest and nimblest members of the Vale, with eyes like no other! They can run as soon as trouble is sighted and alert the people of the Vale.

*A town bell. The bell would be for, well, ringing! Should some scoundrel who wishes us harm come to our dwellings, we ring the bell, and go to our assigned hiding area!

As you can see, this would not alter our way of life at all. No fighting, no needless guards, no distrust among our fellow Halflings, while also kept secure and safe! Please leave a message bellow on your thoughts or ideas.

*Aris scratches his chin as he reads the note*

Hmm... Well there Ideas arn't too absurd... Maybe if we could get the elders to hold a meeting we could work something out.

((Technically the boat is supposed to be too small for anyone who isn't a halfling but that doesn't stop anyone. Oren is a close by human city and the transport to it is free. If we could have an agreement to get a road from there to the vale it might do as a way of transport.))

*Anton takes a double glance at the notice. At first walking by, but then intrested to it as he skims through it.

*Anton is frozen in thought...

'his Popo fellow seems to 'ave real concerns fo' the vale. Those Uruk-kin are no favorable visi'ors.... On considera'ion, tha' elf tha' mi Avie be knowin' 'eft on 'his own. 'e must know already how to travel here or 'ives nearby.

((I agree with Blade/Popo, I would like to remove the boat as well. It doesn't help that it's already a broken portal. I would also like to talk to someone about making a survey of the Vale and its surrounding lands. I can even paint out a map for just the halflings to use. One that describes the surrounding area nicely. But first I will need a burrow! And maybe some parchments & some extra monies))

((Like it's been stated before, the Halfling boat (even though it is indeed broken) is made for HALFLINGS. Orcs couldn't possibly sneak on or fit in. (This isn't me ganging up on Orcs). This, however, doesn't seem to stop anyone which is really annoying.))
