Nethrel 38 Share Posted September 22, 2012 ~Rhunia~ A New Dawn Lore/History Whispering Meadows, Broad trees, Crisp-cold snow settling onto the peaceful grass blades that sway amongst the Northern Breeze. Dwalia, Daughter of Dwalin. Rides her muscular, black horse North, through Queen’s forest and closer towards the pink cloud that lay over the Nation Hanseti like a blanket. Dwalia and her horse ride slowly and quietly through the forest, making no noise whatsoever but the crisping crunch of snow under the hooves and the warm, misty breath of both creatures. As they ride they eventually come to an open at the end of the vast forest where strong winds hit against Dwalia’s eardrums like a battle announcer. Her horse stands on its hind legs ever so quickly hitting the air with its front legs and screeching loudly, making an echo stretch over the river that separates them from the Northern mountain ranges. Dwalia is flung off the back of her horse and planted directly into the snow back first winding her. However she quickly rises and runs to the front of her horse coughing and ploughing through the think snow bank and caressing the horses fur with her palms for comfort. “Easy! Easy, the winds cannot harm ye,” she says with a warm, soft tone. The horse lowers and grunts a few times through its nostrils as snow tickles the tip end. Dwalia brushes the horse’s snout and stares above, looking into the sunset and watching the moon rise from the other side of the skies. She lowers her hands and takes hold of the reins, directing the horse back into the forest density to find shelter. Dwalia and her horse come to a small land opening from the dense tree canopy’s and decides to set down her belongings and luggage beside the base of a large spruce tree, with its canopy providing shelter from the heavy snow descending upon them. Dwalia reaches around the broad, pine trunk with rein in hand and ties the rein together, causing her horse to stay there for the duration of the night. She taps the horses back side gently to cause it to lower into a laying position with the snow acting as a frozen cushion. She picks up a few surrounding sticks under the towering tree and piles them up upon one another. She sits beside the pile, pushing away her many fur coats from beneath her and sit’s cross legged onto the snow leaning her back against the horses stomach for warmth. Dwalia reaches over to her pouch and emerges two small flint extracts in which she sparks up onto the sticks to create a minor fire using the twigs and sticks she recently gathered. Dwalia retires back and emerges her tattered pocket book in which she begins to scribble some words down shakily due to the decreasing temperature. Suddenly a broken twig is heard and a ruffle of leaves sounds from the forest depths. Dwalia’s ears prick high as she drops her writing chalk and grasps her sword hilt softly not loosing focus from the location of the noise. Dwalia slowly and cautiously rose to her feet with her sword grasped tight beside herself whilst swallowing deeply the cold air and steadily creeps towards the forest as the condensation of her breath erupts at a more frequent pace from her lips. Without warning two bearded men charged from the forest also with heavy fur coats and swords a blaze. The horse pulls suddenly and snaps the rein restricting it, running into the forest through blind panic as Dwalia deflects both strikes one after the other from both men and looks snappishly at the taller figure. “Who are you and what is your reason for dwelling this far north!” The men were hooded, only showing a broad, thick beard that trailed from their faces. The taller figure replied in a bellowing, low, croaky voice “We are Northerner ‘umans seeking refuge from the Oren Empire! And what of ye! Not often we encounter females this far from nobleman.” Dwalia lowers her sword and nods to them both to do the same “My name is Dwalia and I also seek refuge from Oren. Come; let us talk amongst the fire,” The three of them sit around the smaller fire, with Dwalia at one end and the two men on the other. She chucks them both a stale loaf of bread and hands them two bowls of water each. The two men quickly grasp both items and consume large, hearty bites from the loaf, followed by heavy swallows of water. Dwalia eyes them both curiously and begins by asking. “So. What are both ye names?” After around thirty seconds, the taller figure wipes his hairy face and beard with the back of his hand and burps. Before any words are spoken by the pair they remove their hoods that are now to be seen, made from Wolf hides. The wolves’ upper jaw and head displayed above theirs. “I am Boris, and this ‘ere be Vangard. Vangard lost his tongue in teh battle of Aegis so he cannot share his voice with ye. But aye, we c’mere to be at part from Oren and their smug, noble way of life as it has caused us to beh treated wrongly. T-... They beat meh wife repeatedly, and they made certain atrocities that I dare not echo,” Dwalia nods and scratches her soft chin contemplating on recent events within the Empire. She looks to both of them and makes out their age to roughly be fifty years. She then stances her back up-right and drops her arms to her crossed knees. “That’s all I needed to hear,” The two men look at her confused as she stands to her feet looking down upon them both. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNpUnUBhURY “For two long has this ‘purity’ of nobles trod over us like dirt under their feet. Like sh*t on their shoulder that they brush off whenever they can be bothered. The Emperor himself doesn’t even have the decency to watch over his people personally; he leaves the duties to his Inquisitors or Knights! Well if no other will attempt to stand against this menace then I shall.” The two men slowly rise to be standing with her with semi grins on their faces. “For months, years even. I and many other Humans have lived trapped under the restrictions and laws made by the nobles of Oren and other various law enforcers that are not to benefit the Human body, but only to benefit the King himself. Where is the consideration for the citizens? I don’t know about you but I cannot recall him ever asking the people’s input. Why split a community when it is better together, shoulder to shoulder as brothers and sisters of the almighty mother Asulon. Well I for a fact would trade all the days of living under slavery, rape and murder to have a chance, one chance to make a difference and say enough to the power hungry bastards.” The two men raise their water bowls into the air with chuckled grins on their faces as Dwalia joins contact with hers before lowering the bowls back to their mouths to consume the remaining liquid. Dwalia lowers the bowl and looks over the rim muttering the faint words “A new dawn,” ~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~@~ MC Name: Nethrel RP Name: Dwalia Village Name: Rhunia Why is your character starting this village/settlement? What is its purpose? To house/ care/ and live amongst all refugees of unfair and injustice leaders. To co-exist with one another from family to family, House to House, Race to Race in a safe Haven, soon to be known as Rhunia. Many might say that is impossible, that no place can provide such safety and happiness between beings, and in all honesty, I would agree. However I wish to make this dream a reality with myself and the help of others so we can make a place where Equality and fairness between players is second nature. What type of political system or leadership is within the village? Well there would be an overseeing Leader that would watch over the village’s progression and manage overall activity within the village alongside his/her Colleagues. Under the overseeing Leader would be his/her “Council” members. These members would receive such roles and responsibilities as~ -Chiefton (Manages the troops and band of soldiers) -Harvest Leader (Manages the farm income and village supplies) -Priest (Manages religion, Marriages, Village beliefs and ways of life) *As the civilization progresses more responsibilities and roles will be added but for now these are the essential roles* What sort of behaviour will resident’s exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.) A hearty, brave and laboured way of life. Where all village citizens always consider not only themselves but the people around them to work in harmony with one another and to always adapt and move forward in the genre of industry. Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map). Preferably a spacious plot of land quite far north and in a snow biome would be brilliant, but we’re flexible to change. Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc): Architecture: The architecture of the village would be a rather simple, make-shift village to the exterior and outside view. They would consist of simple, weaker stone’s such as cobblestone and tree logs for support beams and decoration. Along the lines of this.. Races: The village is open to all races however those who have the aggressive nature for war and squabble are not welcome and if found with this will be dealt with. Culture: The Village culture will be a gothic, Scottish type background with Northern accents and heavy drinking to symbol happy life and a close community between villagers. They would not possess artistic robes or shimmering armour from fancy gems, they would merely wear thin, cotton robes and gowns with the occasional worn down, cheap stone armour for fighters. Jistuma 1996 Share Posted September 22, 2012 (This has exelent written lore and the they the charter was made is quite good, yet I believe there are a few problems. 1. A few towns already exist in the wilds that run from Oren, perhaps instead of creating a new one you could join those instead of creating a new one. 2. Architecture doesn't seem all that original, actually seems overused. Yet if you still decide to make it, I know an abandoned town in the wilds on a snow biome you might want to use Good luck)

Yet if you still decide to make it, I know an abandoned town in the wilds on a snow biome you might want to use Good luck) Thank you, And I'll answer those questions. 1. The other towns in the Wilds that have fled through refuge of Oren don't have the dedication and time to begin a revolting civilization and indeed one that can carry forth word of revenge against Oren, like you said. They end in being Abandoned and put aside as land waste. 2. I purposely made the Architecture this way. As these are refugee's they, at this point in time, aren't prioritizing on appealing homes to feel comforted within. Their main priority is to survive with what little resources they can gather together in the early stages. The way we would eventually resolve this is by in future Charter's for town or perhaps city, we would have the land and capability to upgrade our Architecture and indeed our civilization to a higher standard of living as they would now posses the materials and skills. However I thoroughly appreciate you constructive criticism, Thank you kindly.
Jistuma 1996 Share Posted September 22, 2012 1. They end in being Abandoned and put aside as land waste. I'm sorry, now I seem to be advertising, but no, there are some cities that continue on and hate Oren, the one I am being one of them - http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/57741-accepted-silva-insula-forest-island/ . Well, we don't have a revolting civilization for the simple fact that Oren is too great for a single town to make much damage, so we instead focus on defense, and are pretty good with defenses. It is not abandoned and has existed since January, it's population goes up and down, but we are a town with many active members right now. The town leader hates Oren with all his might, and many of our residents as well. But without a proper army nothing can actually be done. I hope I hear of you Ingame, we will try and make an allience with you :)
Nethrel 38 Author Share Posted September 23, 2012 Thank you for your offer but I'm afraid we aren't just a group of wandering refugee's seeking shelter. We are a betrayed culture that has a fire in our hearts for personal revenge against the Empire. They don't really have the intentions of creating paved stone cities and smooth, architectural buildings for comforted living (At this village stage, in future developments the town would prosper to better living). It's rather hard to explain really, and the only way I can fully put my point across is through reference. Braveheart; In this movie/story William Wallis, the Scottish crusader battles furiously to recapture his homelands from the Longshanks and the English Empire. Now here he could of banded together with both the French, Irish and Welsh from the beginning but personal revenge drove him to make his own path with his own culture and people to recapture what is their's. Defiance; In this true story Truvia, a well known Jewish citizen gathers his fellow Jewish believers in a remarkable way by building a minor civilization of Nazi victims to stand against the invading forces with whatever they can scrap together. Now in this Truvia and his followers had the opportunity to join the Russians that fought for the same cause (Which some in fact did) However the few Jewish that joined with the Russians felt that the Russian General was not fulfilling the Jewish needs for Revenge and were going about their own routine. So eventually the Jewish gathered together once more to do things their way. Basically this isn't solely to create a civilization to defend against Oren. It's a culture of people that won't sit back and defend themselves any longer. They wish to go out there and make a difference under their own rightful banner. And also if you think about it, where is the excitement and variety in RP where everyone fights under one banner? I know it's to cut down on ghost towns and guilds but when you have the numbers, back story and determination to see it through, why hold that back? (Sorry for the film/story references but I couldn't conjure up a description of what I meant. Thank you for you interest though.)
nppeck 601 Share Posted September 23, 2012 I must applaud you for your lore. This is one of the best made charters I've ever seen. I must ask though, what do your homes look like in minecraft? To my knowledge, slanted roofs are not possible for example.
ski_king3 0 Share Posted September 23, 2012 I really like the lore, and I hope your city succeeds, but saying there are no other major cities that could stand against Oren is just wrong. I know of several moderately strong cities that don't like Oren, plus there is Crestfall, which does not like Oren and is very strong. However, I think that having more towns that don't like Oren is only natural, so I think this is a good thing. I would say more about cities that don't like Oren, but I don't want to give people information to meta. EDIT: I was slightly misinformed, Crestfall is part of Oren :/ They just have the Delvers which have more manpower than most cities, and since Oren does not like magic, I am pretty sure the Delvers don't like Oren. So yah, sorry for my misinformation.

I don't recall saying there are no major cities that could stand against Oren, In fact there are many indeed that could perform a Conquest in a matter or days. I used the word 'attempt'. Too few attempts are going forth. Forgive me if i'm wrong and I did utter the words 'No major city is capable' because that was not my meanings whatsoever. I merely stated that the efforts are too low. But thank you for your input, all is welcome that holds constructive information.

These are just quick drafts and by no means the set design. We will change things as we go along to best fit the Role play environment but for now these are the 'templates'. And thank you for you compliment, much appreciated.
