Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:

Roleplaying to me is basically being someone who you are not and basically playing the "roll" of that character. For example being a blacksmith and

reacting and doing things a blacksmith would do. And how the blacksmith would respond to other people in the world.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:

meta-gaming is using out of game knowledge to succeed and do stuff. For example someone tells you something on Skype that only a different person new

about in-game. You then use what the person told you to do stuff.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:

Power-emoting.... Oh boy, Power-emoting is basically doing and using things that you wouldn't be able to really do. For example you get attacked by 4

bandits and you run towards them and chop all four of there heads off with one single swing.

Borin is a rather small kid with black hair and Blue eyes. He grew up in Ager with the average family

and his life was never really that exciting. He and his family worked on the farm and sold there good at

the local market. Will was getting sick of this life though. It was always the same repetitive thing over and

over again. What will really wanted was to become a knight of the Arethor military and defeat the

Orcs (Borin was rather hateful towards Orcs). Everyday after Borin was finished doing his work on the farm

he would head to the backyard and practice with a wooden sword his father had made him. Life went on

like this for a few months and Borin finally decided he would take action. Borin came up to his parents the next

day and told them what he was planning to do. He told them what his life dream had been and told

them that we would visit regularly. His parents had thought about it for a few minutes and decided it would be good

for him to do what he wanted to do and be free from the farm. The next morning Borin packed

his bags and was ready to leave. His parents had tears forming in there eyes. They said there goodbyes and

Borin was off.As Borin walked down the road he started to wonder what he should do first. He was think of different

jobs he could get to pay for food until he could get accepted into the military school.

Different jobs seemed more appealing than others, Borin hated dark places such as mines. Lumberjack seemed like

it might be a job that suits him. Being able to be outside all day with the nice fresh smell of wood. Borin had

finally reached the great capital city of the Oren empire, Arethor. Borin started to feel a burst of excitement coming from

within him. He starts to pick up his pace and enters through the grand gates. As he

enters the amazing city he is amazed at how beautiful the city really was. Now, Will thinks where to start.

He then notices a group of soldiers practising with wooden swords in a small courtyard. he takes a

deep breath and makes his way to the courtyard. "Here goes nothing" He says to himself.

What are your characters ambitions?:

To Join the Arethor Military and become a knight of the Oren empire.

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Borin would walk up to the Poor Dwarf and asks him “What do you have for sale” the Dwarf reply’s in a

desperate manor“many things! Take a look!” Borin was pretty poor as well but he could tell how

desperate the man was so he bought two things that he could barley afford but he still felt like

the poor poor dwarf needed a little more help. Borin gave him twice as much as the actual price and

asked the poor Dwarf “Would you like to go out to a Tavern sometime and have some mead the

re?” The Dwarf replied “YES!” like he had never gone out before to a Tavern. Right before Borin

left the Dwarf tried to give back the change from what Borin gave him, but Borin pretended he didn’t

notice him yelling at him because Borin wanted the Dwarf to keep it thinking that we will

really need it! Later in the evening Borin was at the Tavern waiting for the Dwarf to get there,

finally the Dwarf rushed in the door and knocked over some humans trying to get in. Borin rushed

over to the helpless Dwarf, and grabbed him and ran out as fast as they could. Once they out ran the

Humans Borin and the Dwarf went to a different Tavern and had mead there. They had very much

fun and Borin paid for the drinks.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Borin is traveling down the Oren Road and see’s a large Orc starting to threaten a Dwarf, Borin rushes

over to the Orc and Dwarf and says to the Orc to calm down and that violence isn’t the answer but,

the anger Orc pounds his fist into Borin’s face and Borin was knocked out, and the Orc walked away

while the Dwarf brought Borin to his home and layed Borin in his bed and started cleaning his

wounds. Borin wakes up the following morning and see’s he is in a bed and see’s the Dwarf next to him

bandaging himself. Borin ask’s what happened last night and the Dwarf says the Orc punched him

in the face. Borin rested for awhile and got up during the night while the Dwarf was asleep

and put a thank you note beside the Dwarf and some extra cash, and Borin left.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

Borin is walking down the road to Malinor and see’s a old man walking with a walking stick Borin was just about to

ask him something when his stick breaks and you see a bag of Minas falls to the ground and multiple coins spill

out out it. Borin looks at the coins next to the defenceless man and how realizes how desperate for money he is

Borin almost grabed the coins and ran off leaving the old man there, but something inside Borin

made him relize that the man was just as desperate for money he was but coin after coin spill out

Borin wanted that money for himself. Borin quickly made a decision and helped the helpless

old man up, and grabed the money and gave it to the old man and helped the old man walk

to the closet city and help him get to a shop to get him a new walking stick. The old man

rewarded Borin with some money Borin took the money from the old man for a reward,

and Borin went back to the trail and walked to the next city.
