In-Character Details

Character Name:

Talf Silverfoot

Character Race:

Dwarf (cave)

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: went to a nearby tavern and asked what happened to his now de

Born in the stronghold of Kal'Dwain, Talf was born to a middle-class family of cave dwarves. His father, Gutterth Silverfoot, raised Talf and his brothers to become miners. Gutterth was one of the first dwarfs to join Darius Irongut at making Kal'Dwain. Gutterth donated precious stones and ores to make beautiful statues and decorations. Since he was fifty, he has lived in Kal'Dwain raising his family. Talf became a skilled miner, strong and stout. Talf, a dwarf of good humor, cracking jokes with his fellow miners. Soon, he became a popular laborer in the mountains. Talf longed for riches from the depths of the mountain. When he was twenty-three, Talf set out to the caves and mountains. He put his iron helmet on, bid his family farewell, grab his pickaxe, and walked on the path to the mountains. His family wasn't very happy with his descision. They wanted him to stay in Kal'Dwain. But, they couldn't change his mind and he left. He spent a whole month searching for a place to make a hut and start mining. He stopped at many places along the way, including Kal'Alrus and ShadowVale. Finally he found a perfect place. It had a stream of water next to it, and was close to an old mining shaft. For several years, Talf mined ores and turned them into trinkets he sold in his hut. He spent many glorious days mining iron and silver. When he had the ores, he took them to a smelter. Once smelted, he crafted them into tools and trinkets. He went to a nearby town to sell them. Talf wasn't very rich, but he was happy.

When Talf was sixty-five, he decided to go back to Kal'Dwain and see his family. He traveled many nights to his old home. When he got to the outskirts of Kal'Dwain, he started to see half burned houses. He started to jog. Then he started to see dwarve corpses. He started to sprint towards his house. When he got there, a look of dread crossed his face. All that was left was half burned wood and crumbles of stone. That was what was left of Kal'Dwain. He wept for his family. He did'nt know whether they were alive or not. He went to a nearby tavern to ask around to what happened to his now deserted home. A sad looking dwarf told him it was attacked by Drakes. These winged reptillians flew in and and killed many dwarven warriors. He said that not many people escaped because the Drakes brought down most of the fleeing dwarves. The dwarf intorduced himself as Haggerd Redmelter, and worked in a nearby blacksmith shop. He asked if Talf would like to spend the night with him, and Talf accepted.

Talf and Haggerd shared many lost memories of there times in Kal'Dwain. They both grew up there, and talked about there childhood's. Haggerd said his whole family are blacksmiths, and live close by. He talked about how him, his parents, and sister escaped through an old tunnel. Then, they settled down in this town. He said nobody ever saw those drakes gin. They must have flown back to there swamps. By ten o'clock, they were both crying. Each grieved himself to sleep, still on the couch. In the morning, Talf gave Haggerd some coins, and set out back to his hut. He soon started to feel lonely and moved to Kal'Anart. He bought a house next to the tavern. and spends more time in the tavern then he does in his house. Being next to other dwarves makes him feel better, and he enjoys it.

What are your characters ambitions?:

Talf wants to be a member of the Irongut clan. He also wants to settle down when he is two-hundred and spend the day outside in his wooden chair. One of the last joys in his life is making a large memorial for his long lost family in his backyard. It is decorated with gems and precious ingnots. Each day he pays his respects by leaving flowers and bread nest to the shrine.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:

My character is very modest and hard-working. He respects all races. He's very kind and friendly. If you talk about his family or insult Kal'Dwain, he will get angry and attack.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

A look of joy comes across his face when he sees the dwarf in his stall. "I used tis to the same thing!" I think to my self. I walk over to the dwarfs shop. "Good'r mornin' my fellow dwarf. Hows ye doing?" I ask. "Well, ain't so good. I haven't gotten tat' many people buying stuff." He replies saddly. I look over at his items. "Well, this looks interesting." I say. I spotted a old dwarven good luck charm. "Hey, Errmmm buy this for...hmmm...five hundred coins?" I say. "Five Hundred! Oh, no, sir, tat's way to much for em'. I would never make someone pay-" "Na, na, na" I cut him off. "Its eh good price for such an antique item. I've never seen anythang this in a long time." I give him an encouraging smile and hand over the coins. I place the Amulet around my neck. The dwarf looks overjoyyed and has a smile on his face. "Good day" I say as I walk away.

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

I slipped between the mad dwarf and orc, and shoved both of them back. "Cool It, or imma get da guards to come settle 'dis." I say to both of them. In fury the orc says "Glob Lat Flat!" The angry urak rushed at me with his fists flying. I backed up and started to yell "Help! Anybody? Help!" Just then two monks came out of the sanctuary and ran towards the orc. One was a human and one was a orc. They each grabbed the still yelling orc by the arms. "Stowts Dabu Stowts Dabu!" The orc monk yelled in the angry orcs ear. The angry orc started to calm down. "Can't ye tell'em to stoppin attackin my bretheren?" I say to the orc monk. The orc monk then started to talk to the other orc. "Nub Klomp Stowts" The other orc says "Yub Gruck Yub Gruck Gruck." The orc monk then said he won't attack you anymore." Evidently the orc monk could speak common. "Okay, ye' thanks." The other dwarf and I start to walk away. "Thanks for sticking up for me over there." The dwarf says. "No problem. But, do you mind me asking, why was he mad at you?" The dwarf smiled wickedly and said "Because I stole his bag of coins." A look of astonishment came over my face. "Wait! Why did you-" but the dwarf had started running. I watched him jump through some nearby brush and vanish out of site. "Wow, that was really weird" I think to myself.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

I instantly race to the old mans side, inqouiring whether he's o.k. I lean him against a nearby tree. "I'll be right back." I say to him. I race to the nearest market stall and purchase a new walking stick. I go back to the old man and give it to him. I also take a bag out of my pack, put the coins inside and give them to the old man. I help him up. "Are you sure your going to be alright?" I ask. The old man looks over at me. "Ill be fine, just, please help me back to my cottage." I put my arm around his shoulders to keep him from falling. We walk on a cobblestone road to hs house. When we get to the cottage, the man fumbles with his keys. Then he drops them. "Dang-it!" he yells. "Here, let me do it." I reach down and grab the grey key. I put into the lock on the door and open it. I help him into the house. "Wow" I exclaim as I look around. The house is filled with awesome looking stones and trinkets everywhere. "Are you a collector?" I ask. "Yes." he replies. "For your troubles, i'll give you this sword. It is the sword of Colada. I found it in an old dwarven ruin a long time ago. Since you helped and your also dwarven, I think you should have it." "I gaze in astonishment at the sword. "Why..uh..thank you, so much" I barely reply. I accept the sword and thank him a couple times more. I leave the house and walk back to my hut.

Accepted.

Though please note this 'Sword of Colada' can not have any magical properties or perks, as it is not official lore. It's just a regular sword.
