Hey I have just been going through the cities of Malinor to which I came across a location for my characters birthplace in which I would like more information on to implement into my history. I can't find any particular pages containing information about Haelun'or, Silver City? Could I please get some assistance? Thankyou.

I am more than likely mistaken (I know very little about elven lore), but I am pretty sure both those cities are home to a different race of elf, that you need apply for separately. Try browsing the forums under the elven roleplay section, and see what you can find. If i find any other useful info on either city, I will PM you. Good luck with your app~

Haelun'or, that's the high elf's territory.

You're going to find the High Elf roleplay to be instrumental here. It covers Haelun'or better than any other guide.

Thank you, I found this very helpful. Due to the first reply on my topic however, I now have another question. Can you apply to be a sub-race eg. High Elf, for a whitelist application?

You are permitted to apply as any elven subrace excluding Mori'Quessir, who have a separate application process.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, It's late but I will start working on my biography tomorrow. Thanks again!

Absolutely, though what I think you're actually looking for, is that you generally cannot apply as a citizen of Haelun'or in the whitelist application. Once you arrive at Haelun'or in-game, you'll be directed to fill out a citizenship application. Of course, with all the server nonsense at the moment, that won't be quite possible. Certainly an awkward time to be joining.

Note. I suggest that before considering applying as a High Elf, you read all the High Elven lore rather thoroughly. Lore-incorrect High elves are as tedious as they are common. Too many people want to be 'that one high elf that's different'.

Hi again, I am having trouble researching places in which High Elves of pure clean status lived to put as my birthplace for my characters bio. If you could post some places I could have been born and some information about those places? Thanks!

Oh and also I read something about races having particular types of names but I can't find any pages more on this subject. If you could direct me, thanks!

Haelun'or if you were born in Asulon, or Laurelin if you were born in Aegis. Either of those two would be lore-correct.

Haelun'or is the Silver City, known as a purely High-Elf city in Asulon.

Laurelin was where all the elves lived in Aegis.

agghhh.....

I am having the biggest character biography block.

I am trying to develop a family background, in which I am of a pure mali'aheral descent whose family roots trace back to whenever to prove it.

Been stressing over this and it is seriously effecting my bio progress.

If someone could help me with this problem I would be eternally grateful!

You could PM an existing High Elf player and ask if you could be a part of their family~

Welcome to the world of delightfully crazy High Elves!

That being said, making a bio for a high elf should be relatively straightforward. For simplicity's sake it is best to assume:

- Your character is over 75 years of age

- Your character was born in Laurelin Aegis

- Your family was lost to the Undead

This will minimise the high elves scrutiny you will receive regarding facts in game. Take for example my character Kalenz who would be increasingly suspicious of one who claimed to be living in Haelun'or despite Kalenz never having seen him.

Moving on, it is time for you to decide what your character will do. Is he an inventor? Scientist? Scholar? Does he aspire to magic? Like to use a sword? Write books of philosophy? Alchemy?

Note: Your character may not start out as a mage. They may only wish to learn magic (A magic app is required). The same applies to being a villain, your first character may not be a villain but rather must learn to be one and gain a Villain App.

There are many paths open to a high elf. From there work on your character. For example if you have a scientist work out adequate strengths and weaknesses which have root in his Biography. For example perhaps your character is terrified of dark elves due to a traumatic event when she/he was a child. Perhaps he became interested in science due to his father.

Make sure your character avoids being overly good at any one skill or too proficient at too many skills. As a general rule I have 2 weaknesses for every 3 skills. Take Kalenz, my high elf.

- Telekinetic & Illusionist (Requires MA)

- Intelligent

- Charismatic

- Sly

- Arachnaphobic

- Highly Paranoid

- Xenophobic and Racist

- Frail

From there, simply work out if your character knows basic elven or not (See the elven wiki) pick a name (I recommend Sporadic's ELF UP YOUR NAME GUIDE).

A few Notes:

It will help you as a High Elf to have a thesaurus on your computer when roleplaying as they are highly literate and intelligent.

Very few characters are 'fluent' in elven and it is a pain to constantly look up words if you want to try to claim such. I myself only know one, Dio Astóre the leader of the High Elves who OOCly I believe actually remembers enough he can form semi-coherent sentences.

Thus I would HIGHLY recommend against claiming fluency as it is near impossible due to the lack of books on elven outside Haelun'or as well as the OOC impracticality.

We have an overpopulation of young children at the moment so attempting to avoid being one would be delightful.

It can be very difficult to find your way to the High Elves at first as we tend to RPly like hiding behind walls. Tenacity is key when first arriving. Make sure to set a soulstone once inside!

Make sure you know your lore, especially about the high elven ideals and ideas about superiority before you think about coming to talk to the high elves IC. One slip up at the very beginning will have your character deemed impure.

I would highly recommend you make a pure high elf.

If you intend to use your skin as the generic "Male High Elf" or "Female High Elf" skin on google... Don't. We have far too many people show up who look identical to one another because no one bothered to edit the skin to a degree that they looked different.

If you need more help PM me. I am happy to aid you.
