Greetings LOTC'rs!

Advertisement from Danny; newsletter comes out on Saturday, woooo

Today, we - the staff team - bring you news of a fantastic nature. You will likely notice that large areas of the forums have changed tonight, this is due to us begin work on remodeling the website to suit the needs of us as a community. We believe that by reworking the forums into a more user-friendly style we can ensure that they are easier to use as they are a central hub of the community.

There's two major things I want to discuss, and then there's a change-log of exactly what was done:

Firstly: The introduction of YOUR View, a system in which we can gain more exposure for the ideas that we believe should be added to the server and actually gain player opinions on them. This will also serve as a feedback area for GM ran events.Threads here can only be made by staff, therefore if there is not a YOUR View for the topic you wish to give feedback on, please use the feedback forum. Introduction thread to YOUR View is here.

Secondly: The changes to the Community Thoughts and Support area - support, feedback and bugs are now split into two new forums:- Support and Feedback and Bugs. This is to allow us to organise the two different topics. Your Ideas and Lore is also now split to Lore and Ideas, both with approved and denied areas. This will hopefully allow us to organise the lore and ideas properly, rather than just willy-nally.

And the changelog of what has changed...:

- Permissions bugs fixed (some may not yet be fixed)

- Application Archive now view-able to all registered members (also moved to Application Submissions)

- Addition of Your View

- Accepted/Denied/Implemented apps renamed to Accepted/Denied/Implemented Applications

- Application, Support & Help renamed to Application Support and Help

- Moving of Mori Roleplay from Elven Roleplay to category Roleplay

- Renaming of Mori Roleplay to Mori'Quessir Roleplay

- Renaming of Support, Feedback and Bugs to Support.

- Creation of Feedback and Bugs forum.

- Creation of Fixed Bugs forum (under Feedback and Bugs).

- Renaming of Completed Queries to Completed Support.

- Removal of Player Feedback forum.

- Renaming of Bans and Appeals to Ban Appeals.

- Moving of Completed Ban Reports to under Ban Reports.

- Creation of Lore forum.

- Creation of Ideas forum.

- Creation of Approved and Denied sub-forums for the above.

- Renaming of Off Topic to Off-Topic

- Renaming of General Discussion / Off Topic to General Discussion

- Removal of the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim sub-forum

- Creation of Tekkit sub-forum under Minecraft.

- Removal of 'Closed Skin Competitions' sub-forum.

- Movement of Villain Applications to the top of Other Applications Category.

- Movement of Magic Applications to below Villain Applications.

- Movement of GM/FM/LM/AT/ET applications to sub-forums under "Staff Applications"

- Movement of A-Team forum to Staff Forum area, and renaming.

- Removal of Asulon Improvement Comitee Forum (all threads moved to Ideas).

- All charters archived (request a member of staff to access the thread if you require information from a charter).

Please provide feedback below. Please leave any ideas for other changes in the YOUR View thread, here.

In addition to the changes listed above there are further changes on the horizon. Before 3.0, we intend on completely revamping the forum and website. This means they will look majorly different as we will have a more fitting and attractive skin! There shall also be the addition of new areas of the website hopefully soon, and an updated version of the forum rules.

The Charters

Thanks,

The Staff.

Make completed ban appeals public ? :D

Great update :)

I did say post them in the Your View! :P However, we aren't particularly keen on doing this - we don't want banned players picking up the 'techniques' or 'ways' that other players managed to get unbanned really. Perhaps we may implement a function that allows you to check if a player is banned or not via the website ?

Permissions bug fixed, does that mean that when I report a post or reply I won't get an error saying I am not allowed to do it?

The permissions bugs refers to thing such as the report button, moderational perms and problems with posting in certain areas.
