Reforging The Goldhand Clan

William briskly walks into the Goldhand meeting chamber. He has called his fellow Goldhands for a reason. Hopefully, everyone arrives, although it might prove his point further.

"It seems that many teh Goldhands are rarely ter be seen around Karik. Either off on their own adventures or in seclusion. The other clans ove nobility are more present in teh Dwarven government and weh are losing our say in the affairs of Urguan."

He looks to his fellow Goldhands before continuing.

"Our clan is great and requires the utmost attention to retain its power. If weh allow the balance ter falter, weh could lose our position ove nobility, just loike the Starbreaker clan. Therefore, in the best interests of our clan, Ah am seeking ter reform our clan leadership and possibly elect ah new clan leader. Therefore, let those present vote upon whether weh need ter reform our clan. Ah mean no disrespect to Gulroid, but frankly weh need ter change ah few things and restore teh lost honor ter our clan! Aye, fer one. Say weh do. T'at is my vote. "

This is an OOC issue as well in that we need to allow our clan to flourish for the sake of role-play and our enjoyment. Gulroid has done a great job, but Hiebe and the other Dwarves agree our clan is becoming more inactive. Also, this started long before the map was wiped. Everyone needs to respond or I will talk to Hiebe about assuming control of the Goldhand clan to keep it alive. I will allow 24 hours for responses.

*Thoak makes his way over to the Goldhand's Clanhall in Kal'Karik on his daily routine of checking if the place is still intact. He notices the commotion in the meeting chambers, and makes his way upstairs seeing William and listens to his words.*

"Most 'o tae Goldhands 'ave drifted off, ur just 'ave disappeared.. ur just died off. We be in dark times fer tae Gold'ands, an' most 'o tae Dwarves, hooever that be me own opinion. I dunnae knoo where Gulroid 'ave went, ur Rasun an' some rumors went that most 'o tae leaders 'o other clans 'ave vanished 'as well."

(Btw. Rumor has it that Gulroid, and Rasun are returning once 3.0 drops.)

As Thoak enters and speaks, William waits and then nods.

"Aye, weh need fer our leadership to be present or weh will fade."

((They can't really expect to stay in leadership if they leave for a few weeks until 3.0))

Hydrose stands from the corner he was sitting in. He speaks " I say we give Gulroid a little while longer"

"How much longer can weh as a clan go without present leadership? With the way things are looking, weh need a sound clan leader more than ever."

"A leader was never decided if somethin' 'ave 'appened tae Gulroid. If Rasun was 'roond he would become tae next leader hooever Rasun is nae with us. I woold say tae next oldest kin of tae clan woold be Gorum, hooever I am nae Gorum woold take up tae position tae become leader 'o tae Gold'ands, an' that 'e woold turn doon tae offer. Unless there be any other Gold'and older than Gorum, an' fit tae lead tae Gold'ands oot woold be Gorum."

"Aye, a gud leader beh Gorum. Weh shall let 'im speak fer 'imself. Weh can take a clan vote on it and anyone can try fer leader. Maybeh some others will show up. However, ah cannot say ah 'ave seen Gorum 'round too much."

*Runs his fingers through his beard thinking for a moment.*

"Eh. I personally think that tis leadership position we vote on 'ill only be temporary until Gulroid ur Rasun shows up. If they dunnae come oot 'o hidin', ur shows up then we can resume 'em dead. Also.. if Gorum does nae show up, ur takes tae offer on tae Gold'ands I can take over tae Goldhands."

"Aye, weh shall 'ave a clan vote ter see who takes oveh. Ah t'ink at t'is point, a clan vote should beh in order anehways since weh need a gud leader, not an old member persay."

*Twiddles his thumbs for a moment thinking again.*

"Oot be 'ard tae 'ave a especially inside tae clan ootself tae 'ave a new clan leader when we dunnae 'ave more than probably two alive members 'roond, unless there is ones 'roond that dunnae 'ave made oot tae tis meetin' unless we 'ave a vote ootside tae clan.

William pauses to think hard.

"Hmm, weh seem ter 'ave ah dilemma. Maybeh weh shud consult King Hiebe about t'e matter and see who t'e other clans want as leader. Ah am willin' also to step in if needed."

((Do you have a link to the Goldhand family tree? I think my character is the adopted son of Gulroid, but I need to check.))

Heeding the call of his clan member Thoak Goldhand, the son of Rasun Goldhand emerged from his dwelling. Norak sighed as he clutched the last parchment Rasun had written to his son before his sudden departure to an unknown location to meditate and feel closer to his ancestors. Stuffing the parchment into his pack, Norak made his journey toward the Goldhand meeting. Still exhausted from his last search in the wilderness for his father's meditation mountain, he'd decided that he'd trust his father's decision to leave and would have to wait for his eventual return. Upon entering the meeting room he greeted his family members for the first time in years. The last he'd seen of his family was during his father's time reconstructing Kal'Alras.

"Greetin's me famileh. Been awhile, eh?"

Norak frowns as he begins to retell the story of his father's disappearance, but he attempts to reassure everyone that his father will hopefully find a way to return when he will be needed again.

"But, hmm, ah agree, Gulroid 'as been rat'er lackin' in leadin' our clan fer' some toime. I've spoken tu' 'im recentleh, aftah ah discovered me fat'er's fate. Age beh catchin' awp tu' 'im, 'e beh teh oldest in teh clan, still livin' from teh age ov' Simppa. Onleh Rasun beh older t'en Gulroid, it be a surprise 'e can t'ink ov' goin' out awn a trek like t'at."

Norak pauses as he is overwhelmed with fear of his father's life in danger.

"Ah can onleh 'ope t'at he knew what 'e was gettin' 'imself intuh'. Now, I believe teh new leader should beh chosen by Gulroid 'imself. 'E 'as been teh onleh clan leader fer' centuries, an' if a feller' gets picked whu' does nay know old Gol'and traditions, I feel bits ov' our clan's tradition an' 'istoreh may be lost. Rasun told meh some ov' 'em but I dunnae remember much. Gulroid's choice will probableh be best fer' teh clan, unless 'e be readeh tu' make a return."

Norak takes a seat and looks around the room, glad to see familiar faces again, and looks forward to spending more time with them, now that he'd chosen to have belief in his father's choice of leaving. After some reassurance of his father's return by Gulroid, Norak could finally relax. For now at least, for he could have never imagined what news about his father was soon to come.

William greets Norak as he enters.

"Gud ter see yah Norak. Ah agree t'at weh need Gulroid ter decide, if t'e old bugger wud come. Bein' t'e adopted son ove Gulroid, ah wud 'ave birth rights, but weh shall let 'im decide.
