Hylian the Heretic 233 Share Posted December 9, 2012 Plagiarizing, depending on the level of plagiarism will result in a 1 month to a 5 month ban from applying. Why? -It's a good thing to not plagiarize in general. It can get into serious trouble in high school, college, and in professional situations, and is illegal, even if accidental. -It shows you're lazy or think you're devious and are not fit to play on LOTC. -It makes you seem not smart enough to come up with your own content. -It reflects badly on other applicants and everyone around you. -We in the app team need to check every app for plagiarism. If there were less cases, we'd have to do a lot less work in the long run. -If you do plagiarize, I will eat your soul. Bottom line: Kids, don't plagiarize. It's just not worth it. If you think you can get away with it, you can't. monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Bah, the reason plagiarism is bad is astoundingly obvious; you're just cheating, you're stealing, you're lying, and you're cutting off your own enjoyment of the server for yourself. You need to come up with your own definitions, character, and ORQs. It's just a generally acceptable fact. If someone steals someone else's app they're going to get punished, and I don't know who in the right mind would not see that outcome clear as day. The application isn't a grammar test, you're applying to create a unique character and you don't win anything if you cheat, there's no possible reward for that action. But I'm glad you can come up with an explanation for the people who are stupid curious enough to ask why plagiarism is bad, because I couldn't, :P.
