Meet The 500th Post

Because why not include more optimism in our forums?

Firstly, to begin, this is my 500th post, as you may have noticed by the title.
I’m going to begin by saying that; my experience on Lord of the Craft has been not at all like any of the other servers that I may have encountered. It has been unbelievably entertaining, and enjoyable, something that all of the servers strive for, and LotC has it all easily checked for me. My free time goes towards this server as I find that none other can provide what I am looking for.
I must say that the community here is absolutely amazing; there are a good handful of intelligent and enthusiastic roleplayers who are willing to look past the mistakes on LotC, and see the bright future that the server holds. Aegis was a great experience, and so was Asulon, but in my opinion, in no way has the server been decreasing in quality. Although you may want those times back, they are over, and I believe that the server has not been diving ever since, but has been reaching new heights with our dedicated staff working through sweat and tears. I find it great to see the sheer number of applicants pouring in daily, and it’s great to see that the server is still thriving even after this long of a time. Just because of how you might see it now, don’t lose hope I say! 3.0 is coming, and with it is going to come excellent roleplay and many hours of entertainment. The plugins will be fixed by our hard working Dgco, and the forums will be repaired soon too. It is going to happen, trust me. ;)
If there is one thing I think should be stopped, it would be some of the negative posts. Don’t get me wrong here, everyone here is a bright person, but before posting something negative please think about what you’re writing, because it can disrupt the flow of new members. I’ve unfortunately not seen as many bright posts as I’d like to, but I guess I don’t mind, because people find it necessary to post when there are problems, not when there aren’t any, right? I’ve taken a few moments before to think about the strain and the hard work that the sudden loss of Asulon has caused, and I’m very happy about how that has been handled, in my opinion the staff have done well to recuperate from that. Yes, there have been staff leaving recently, that is true. But most of the time they are leaving after a successful full run, and have burned out after all of their amazing work that they put forward to the server. What about the leaving members? Well, think about the joining members, there are more applicants spilling in each day, you just have to take a look at the applications being submitted all the time.
If you’re finding that you’re not having fun on LotC, I’d suggest moving out into a city, and finding some fun. In my lengthy experience here I’ve found that sitting around and waiting for roleplay to come to you does not work, but instead leads you to think the server is dying. Well, it’s not. I’m going to remain an optimist, and I happily look forward to the server’s future. Cheers.

I've had my Tophat ever since I had about 60 posts. ;)

I believe I earned an Old Hat, but I guess that's irrelevant. *shrug*
