Old-Rattlesnake 1534 Share Posted February 26, 2013 This is very exciting. I'm glad the Magic team decided to devote time and effort toward making magic a feasible option for more of the playerbase.
Blundermore 2741 Share Posted February 26, 2013 This is very exciting. I'm glad the Magic team decided to devote time and effort toward making magic a feasible option for more of the playerbase. It's more RP based, it doesn't mean it is any less easy for certain people, especially self taughts... It just means now that you're judged on your RP, not your writing.
Ezo Karasuga 356 Share Posted February 26, 2013 I feel this magic system is brilliant and should have been like this back in Aegis. Kudos to the magic team for focusing more about those who love the RP.
Truthseeker83 119 Share Posted February 26, 2013 I'm loving the new system. It doesn't solve all the problems with it but is a Huge step int he right direction. I've had several people already come to me about learning magic in rp.. I guess I should start looking into doing a curriculum for my guild.
Valentino MC: Mau5noize 1094 Author Share Posted February 26, 2013 Again, Self-taughts must first find a teacher or archetype leader to agree to OOCly oversee their self teaching of magic. This teacher would also be responsible for making sure the self-taught applicant knows how to properly RP magic without powergaming and venturing off from the accepted lore. Once you find an OOC teacher you must do the forum app and get your teacher to comment and confirm the OOC relationship. From here it's the exact same as those learning In guilds or by Rp teachers except it takes TWICE as long to get to tier 1 and to progress to the different tiers. So there is much more appeal for players to learn from a guild or RP teacher than doing self-taught as this promotes more Roleplay and continues to make self-taughts a more difficult system; as it should be. E__V__O 2000 Share Posted February 26, 2013 Alright, I think I understand about the self taught applicants although how would the guild teaching work in more expansion of detail?. . . Since all you have said (Or to my understanding) is that you join a guild then you can self teach yourself?. How would the guild based teaching work exactly?. Would there have to be a teacher teaching them?. . . I am still all confused on this matter. . . Sorry for your time. May your blessed be.
Goldd 126 Share Posted February 26, 2013 How would one go about self-teaching in game? I mean... I doubt there are accessible sources currently in Anthos for self-teaching, such as written books.
Elindor 666 Share Posted February 26, 2013 There will be.
Valentino MC: Mau5noize 1094 Author Share Posted February 26, 2013 Players have done self teaching in the past with an approved teacher over seeing their self-taught RP. I have never witnessed it myself but with a more permanent map and coming magic plugin; their will probably be a development of Tomes, books, and other magic artifacts to aid self taughts in their RP. @ttwesten. It's the same system as before. The only difference is magic team is making a decision based of RP skills after a month -2months of learning instead of making a decision based off a forum application before giving the player a chance to practice the role-play and fully grasp the lore and limits. You wouldn't go to a guild for self-taught. That wouldn't make much sense, but looking for guild leaders to over see your characters self teaching outside of their guild would a possibility. But I'd imagine that a lot of guilds will be pretty busy having groups of students and enjoying the plugin when it is released. As well as bettering themselves to get access to increased mana, better spells, less cool down time and better accuracy which all increases by tier level (AKA time). Goldd 126 Share Posted February 26, 2013 Even if there are sources, they would be very hard to access due to their probable possession in a magus' hands. This would be a problem unless ooc teaching counts for RPLY finding out yourself. EDIT: Also what about teachers like Kalenz? I am still confused on that subject. Are they still able to teach? Is every magic user now able to teach?

E__V__O 2000 Share Posted February 26, 2013 With the magic-plugin, from my last knowledge on it. . . The Plug-In was for Pvp based areas?. . . Or now can there be a switch to turn the spells on "Looks" besides "pVp"?. Such as the normal harmful spells do nothing but are for looks until you toggle the switch?. . . I am confused on the deal within this.
Elindor 666 Share Posted February 27, 2013 We should just get control of the /damage command over others. /damage ttwesten 20 muahahaha EDIT: With the new applications coming in for OOC and IC teaching, things seem to be going swimmingly with the new system. Can't wait for the full magic info document.
