A New Arrival Arrives

It started our as a normal day for Bartley. He woke up in his comfy burrow, ate breakfast, picked up his letters from Pete's post office, set some new cakes out at the bakery, and headed to The Grove. Everything was fine and dandy till he went back to Lenfarthing. While he was gone that day something was annoying the town. That something was loud and noisy, every so often it would become so silent for only a peaceful second right before a giggle rang through the the hills. Sadly, the one halfling who needed to hear those sounds could not.

Tonight was going to be a startling suprise. Normally, after a long day at The Grove, Bartley would head over to his burrow and hit the hay. But not tonight, tonight he went to the Lumpy Pumpkin to grab a morsel with some friends. He bounded into the Lumpy Pumpkin, a spring in his step, luckily everyone was there that he wanted to see. Sitting in random places around the inn was Bolo (A father figure), Aris (A close friend), Milo ( A role model), Richard (A friend he would like to be closer with), and Salmon (A halfling who is like a son to him).

They seemed to be deep in conversation so he walked behind the bar and served himself a drink, looking up every once in a while to watch them speak, wishing he could join in. He patted his vest pockets to find his journal and quill  taking it out. He quickly scrawled in it "Whats going on?". Bolo took the quill and the journal and scrawled right under it "Noises, sounds like children. No one knows where there at." The kind halfling handed the journal back to Bartley. Bartley read it quickly and looked up at him, he shrugged and finished his conversation.

The rest of the night went on quickly. Milo and Bartley discussed occurrences at the grove while Salmon and Bartley conversed about types of fish. Aris still had not realized that his friend was deaf so Bartley just smile and nodded when he spoke, but Bartley never responded.

It was a spectacular starlit night. The moon was so bright it was practically day, the firelight lamposts flickered around the pathways Bartley took on the stroll home.

Spotting his burrow, he began to walk a bit quicker. Not because his comfy bed was waiting for the weight of his body on it.

Not becuase his new wool socks were ready to jump on his cold little toes.

Not becuase a book was waiting for him by the fire place

It was becuase there was something new sitting in front of his doorstep. It looked like a brown woven basket, a large one at that. He could see bits of fabric hanging off the sides. Every so often as he got closer something would stick out of the basket and then pull itself right back in. "Peculiar" he thought.

Finally, he reached the doorstep and the basket. Panting, he peered inside the basket. What he saw took his breath a way. Inside the basket were two adorable babies, one darling boy and one beautiful girl. Both the boy and the girl had emerald green eyes, just like Bartley. There skin was pale, just like Bartley's. The boy had light brown hair, tussled like Bartley's. Now the girl, the girl had dazzling hair. Long and blond.

Bartley stopped staring at the two and picked up the basket to take it in side. He walked into his living room and set the basket down on the sofa, plopping himself right down beside it.

Something taked to the overhead handle of the basket caught his eye, it was white and thin with a small red ribbon tied around it. He plucked it off quickly, untied the ribbon, and opened up the object. It was a letter written in fine cursive. The letter said,

"

My dearest Bartley. Its been almost four years since we met last, that misty morning. You were out tending the fields and I was swinging by a branch in the tree. You saw me, I remember the way you smiled at me. That ever so sweet smile you gave to me was the start of the best day I ever had. The boat ride out in the lake. The picnic under the apple tree. The painting, I still have that hanging on my wall. The moonlight dinner. I still remember what we had. A bottle of wine, a large ham sandwich, and an apple pie. So romantic.

I am getting off topic. I am so sorry Bartley. I just want you to know that these babies are yours, ours. I think our daughter looks like me, dont you? Her name is Catalina. Now, our son looks like you. His name is Balboa. I know how much you loved those names.

~Valonia~

"

Bartley on the verge of tears closes the letter and holds it up to his face. "Smells like her" he thinks to himself while wiping his cheek. He stands up slowly, sniffling. Carefully he places his babies into the basket and walks into his room. Then he sets the basket down, sniffing once more as he does.

He kneels and pulls out a small box from under his bed, opens it, puts the letter inside, then pushes it back. Standing up he pulls the babies out from the basket and lays them on the bed, on either side of him. Kisses them on the forehead, pulls the blanket up, and tries to fall asleep.

[[OOC]]

Hello LOTC, I come to you today in the search for two players, possibly three. I need someone to play the babies. Cute little halfling babies. The character attitude is up to you since you will rp him. Of course, I would love to have sweet little babies and everything, but its your rp character. If you are interested, please shoot me a pm. Tell me a bit about yourself. Or why you are interested. This will be a fun experience. Now, if you would to rp someone besides the three year olds baby then I have a part for you.

I had someone rping Valonia (Valonia means of the Vale), but she left the server I think .Not a word from her in a month or so. I would like the player to be female so its easier to rp smoothly without some awkward ooc moments. If you would like to play that part, please feel free to shoot me a pm. All I require for any of these is for a small bit about yourself, how active you are, and what timezone you play. Happy RP-ing!

[[OOC]]

Feel free to post in this for more rp, please do. Knock on the door, wake me up, barge in. Do something. Would love to rp on this post. Pretend it became morning. Maybe there is an emergency that for some reason I am needed

((You do realise Salm cannot taste fish anymore. It actually poisons him now))

Salm hears crying often coming from Bartley's burrow.

"Err...when did Bar'ley get kiddies?"

Salm decides to pay no heed for the moment, since he has his own child to watch over. Salm hops along towards his burrow.
