Bread For The Hungry. [The Charity Bandit Rp]

 Share

Walking through salvus, you note a man standing among a gathering of mostly peasants. The man is handsome, well built and seems very kind. As you approach you hear him speaking.

"Free food! Gather around, one and all! If you are hungry and seek food, worry no further. Food will be provided for you by men who care."

Aided by another man, the charity bandit begins tossing bread to the poor, being met by "Creator bless you sir!" and "Thank you dearly sir" from the peasantry who receive the bread.

Edward Howell stares at the charity bandit with a basket of bread in his hand. He motions to his friars to get some bread and start handing it out too.

"You there, what are you doing? If you want to hand out bread then become a friar. Though I do appreciate your charity to the people of Salvus, I would appreciate if you halted your actions so that the church may perform it's more secondary role."

The Veiled Shadow stands behind The Charity Bandit, helping him pass out food to the poor. "Only the corruption of Oren shall be purged. All other things shall remain," he says quietly to his cousin. He then takes off his hood, revealing his blonde hair, and brown eyes. Tyler thinks to himself, "It must start here. With the oppressed rising up against those who make them suffer." The Veiled Shadow ponders the faces of those coming to receive bread, and tries to be remember their names.

Smiling as he hands a frail old woman a fresh loaf of the bread, he notices Edward. Looking towards him, he stands straight, opening his arms wide saying:

"Must I join a system to do good deeds, friend? Or would you not mind me continue my humble charity?"

He states to the man, looking to his younger cousin for aid, then back to the man. The crowd also turns towards Edward, seeing as the charity bandit has ceased his giving of bread.

Stands there, looking at William, then looks at the friar, "I wasn't aware charity was frowned upon in Salvus..." Tyler quickly takes out a book, and scribbles in it. The book is old, with the leather being worn fairly well. He quickly puts the book away, and stares at Edward, raising an eyebrow.

The Grand Knight walks into Salvus seeing the very small crowd of people around the men giving out free food. And the trouble he is giving the Cleryman. He walks up muttering to himself and his squire before he is in proper earshot of the rest.

"Damn twits, The Church hands out food rations plenty, How much ye bet these are just lads hoardin'  it or can't afford the 1mina loafs in the Capital?"

He walks over the giant of a Half breed looking at the crowd his Plate armor marked with the Duke of House Silverblade and his cape of the Grand Knight seen on his armor as he raises a hand making an rather loud grunting noise many stop speaking once almost silent he speaks up

"What be this? I see a Clergyman being smart talked prehaps? And did I just hear bread givin' is agasint the laws? Who be the dumb feck who can't bother to look at simple laws then?"

Royal Chaplain Edward Howell turns to Uthor with a polite dip of his head. He looks back to the charity bandit with a slight frown.

"I don't have anything against you being charitable, I simply would rather encourage people to buy the bread in this fine city that is less than a mina. It would definitely help the humble farmers that make a living off of selling food. Well I'll be off."

Edward sighs slightly as he turns on his heels and heads back to the Kingston church for prayer.

Turning to the oncoming man, the charity bandit opens his arms as he states boldly but respectfully:

"My lord, none of the sorts is occurring. I simply am using the extra profit from my work to pay for the well being of the hungry. If it is wrong for me to give out food by my own choice, I will stop."

A fake smile envelopes on his face as he bows to the man.

Laila stands watching the men and edward talking. She sighs after a moment and slips out of the shadows towards the men. Her blood red eyes showing no emotion as she walked through the hungry and towards the charity bandit. Her eyes slowly shift as her hand moves into her bag producing a smaller bag. She continues to walk by, dropping the bag next to the men as she heads off towards the keep. Her white hair flowing behind her as she keeps herself silent. The bag was only a few minas that she herself earned. Having very little to her own name anymore, she passes them, happy to see some kindness in the world.

Eyeing the woman as she walks off, the charity bandit curiously leans down to fetch the bag from where it sits. Feeling through the bag, he retrieves a couple minas. "Perhaps there is some good within Oren... Good that is not done only for the opinion of others..." he thinks to himself as glances up at the retreating Royal Chaplain. He withdraws the minas, slipping them away into his tunic.

Alexis walks up behind her fellow peasants and smiles at the Charity Bandit, happy to see him doing the helpful, good deeds as he had planned.

"He must be the only kind robber I've ever seen, or anyone else has seen for that matter!" she thought to herself.

The Charity Bandit gives a smile to his fiance, as he dips his head in hello to her. He hands her a sack of bread.

"If there is not an issue with our good doing, we will continue our handing out of bread to the poor."

He says respectfully to the nobles peering at himself, his cousin, and his fiance.
