Rumors have begun to float around Oren. The young half-breed royal had fallen asleep and refuses to wake. Not only this, but rumors of a Orcan child taking to her and seen kissing her have begun to fly off the handle. Only a few seem to know the truth as to what has been going on. Only those few even seem to care enough for the young woman to put right the rumors.

The rumor about the Orcan child, sadly true as it seems, shows that the young girl has finally grown attached to someone other than her unruly brother. Although the girl seems to be in the puppy love phase that many girls her age feel, only time will tell if it is true or not. No, the kiss that seems to have sparked much debate, is a servant spotting the orcan child kissing the young noble on the neck while she slept. But why was she asleep?

Distraught at losing her brother, possibly forever due to what would later seem childish, Kaila took to her favorite spot to think. Upon trying to climb down to talk to her friend, she fell. A small bump that most others could shake off, had caused her to slip into the nightmares that had plagued her for months. The lack of medicine that a local alchemist had given her, had caused a major relapse when the nightmares started, locking her away into the darkness that is her mind.

Now the young halfbreed noble sleeps in her bed, undisturbed by others, with her parents praying for a speedy return to the waking realm. Every so often her screams are heard, now mostly ignored, as the nightmares tear apart her young mind. The scenes that had tormented her, repeat over and over, the blood, the lies, the death. The hurtful words of spite, all catching up to her, tearing her apart from the inside. Few now even visit her. Even fewer are willing to try and calm her.

As each day arrives, a servant enters bringing her some soup and helping her eat, changing her bedding and clothes before letting the young girl continue her journey through the darkness. A feat she must do on her own. Does any of the shield visit her? Her parents? Her cousins? She would never know. As night falls and the nightmares return, Kaila becomes a slave to the darkness that has fallen over Salvus.

Nightmare 1:

Kaila stands in the dark, the steady dripping of a liquid forces her to turn this way and that. Her brother's voice whispers to her, egging her towards the faint light ahead. Slowly, her dress weighing her down, Kaila makes her towards the light. The liquid that seems to fill the entire area, tugs at her, attempting to pull her down and drown her. As the light brightens, Kaila realizes she is in a sea of blood. The cries of her brother become more clear.

He stands before her on a ledge. Slowly she reaches out to take his hand. "Kaelys!" she cries both in the dream and out loud. Her hand now nearly inches from his before blood spouts from his mouth. Retracting her hand, she watches in horror as his tongue flaps around uselessly in his mouth as he tries to call for her. She moves to grab him once more, but is pushed aside by another elf.

Kaila stumbles and falls into the bloody water around her. Her eyes widening as she realizes that the elf is Cir'dian. "Te-teacher...w-wha-" she stammers, halting her words as the elf pushes her brother off the ledge and the sickening crunch of Kaelys's body hitting the ground below reaches her ears. She looks up at her beloved teacher in horror as he turns to her. She screams out as his face seems to melt and turn into something too horrid to imagine. Soon the darkness and blood consume her consciousness.

((OOC: I will be adding to this post as time goes on. I apologize for if this becomes too graphic. It is an explination as to what has happened to Kaila as I am taking a break from my young character and returning to another character that is in need of being played. Most are welcome to come in and check on her, namely her family, the shields, Talion, Kaelys, Artimec, Cir'Dian, Zane and Scicle. Feel free to comment as well ^^;; ))

Kaelys sat in the Adunian camp, warmed by a fire. He has started getting used to the cold nights of the wilds, the strange ways of the Adunians, and even their strange gods. His bones are still sore from when the Kha nearly crushed him to death, and he runs over everything that happened in his head.

He remembers visiting Kaila, something he often did despite the face he was banished from Salvus, and then he remembers Talion showing up.

He grits his teeth at the thought of that lowborn Uruk half-breed touching his sister...

He remembers how Talion had the nerve to dare kiss his sister, and infront of him no less. he remembers how he tackled him and began to beat on his head wildly. Now that he thinks of it his hand was still numb from breaking talion's nose.

What sticks in his mind however was the pain. He remembered being picked up from behind by the Kharajyr who worked at the Keep's library, and assumed the kha wanted to simply stop the fight.

Which it did, he bear hugged Kaelys and made him unable to move. Yes.. he used a lot of force, too much force. Kaelys didn't notice at first, no, he was too angry but what he did notice was the sound of snapping. His Arms, both of them, breaking in several places.

Before he could yell out in pain several of his ribs snapped, one of them entering his lung. All that came out was blood, and a coughing sound of him gasping for air. Before everything wen't black however he remembered seeing his sister run to talion's side, who had but a broken nose.

Kaelys' eyes narrow as he goes over everything in his head again. He was saved thanks to several gifted elves with healing magic, but he would never forget how Kaila turned her back on him.

Doctor Ludivic, catching word of the girl's odd situation from the streets of Salvus, begins writing up a letter requesting permission to observe the girl in what seems to be an endless sleep. His hands tremble with excitement at the opportunity to take notes on such a strange neurological illness, as he ties the letter to a crow's leg, sending it off to where he hopes is the Salvus Royal Bird Coop.

Vectis stood guard in the throne room of the Salvus Keep, making sure no orcs came in and killed everybody. A sigh escaped him as he stepped from his position against the wall, looking out over the balcony. Pale moonbeams shone on the stone and wood of the palace, the celestial orb hanging in the sky with stars twinkling around it like gems. A scream suddenly pierces his serenity, coming from upstairs. The Shield Commanders shakes his head and mutters under his breath,

"Gettin' real sick of your ****, Kaila."

Laila stands inside the keep's library, watching out the window towards the beacon. Her crimson eyes keeping a vigilant watch over the land. The cries of her daughter's sleep keeps her on edge. She sighs sadly as she listens to the agonized cries of her daughter. She had hoped to raise her children away from conflict, away from the pain and sorrow that followed people daily in Salvus. She sighs as she turns from the window and heads back towards Malinor. She had a job to do, and it meant staying away from those she loved in hopes of changing the land for the better. If only she could save her son and her daughter.

Kaila screams as she drags herself out of her own nightmares. After weeks of them plaguing her, she managed to break free of them. Her eyes, clouded with pain and fear, she seems unwilling to sleep anymore. Her body smaller that it was. Slowly she drags herself out of her bed, wanting nothing more than to correct the many wrongs. This starts with her brother, then the shields.
