Lenfarthing Boroughs

Issued and confirmed by his Imperial Majesty the Holy Emperor of Oren, Horen V.

At the will of his Imperial Majesty Horen V,  and agreement of Elder Bolo Willowbottom and Elder Milo.

Let it be known throughout the Empire that the Halfling folk, the close cousins of the Humans of Oren, shall now be welcome and accepted into the embrace of the Empire from here on.

 

The Lands of Lenfarthing, home to the Halflings, is hereby decreed, under agreement of the Elders of the Halflings and our Great and Divine Emperor, to be an  self-governing state within the Empire of Oren. This agreement is to upheld until such a time as the Elders of Lenfarthing decide they no longer wish to be part of the Glorious Empire of Oren with clear and justified reasoning and after going thru all the possibilities of solving it, at which point they may leave without prosecution or delay.

 

The terms of the agreement are detailed as such:

 

1. Lenfarthing shall be a self-governing entity.

2.  The Elders of Lenfarthing shall be welcome to participate upon the Emperor’s Parliament.

3. No military of Orens shall enter into the lands of Lenfarthing without the express permission of an Elder.

4. In the event of hostile actions towards Lenfarthing, Oren can and will send military reinforcement to protect and safeguard the lands against outside threat.

5. Trade between Lenfarthing and other lands in Oren shall not be restricted.

6. The people of Lenfarthing shall be counted as citizens of the Empire and should harm come to them within or without Oren’s lands, the criminal responsible shalled be tried and punished for the act in accordance with the law.

7. The people of Lenfarthing are welcome within the lands of Oren, to be treated as citizens and free from undue harm, harassment, or questioning. Should they commit a crime they shall be tried in accordance with the law as any citizen of Oren would be.

8. Lenfarthing is exempt of tithe

Faldo taps his cane on the ground as he uses a copy of this 'edict' to be smoked in his pipe, blowing the smoke into the face of an Oren emissary.

 

I'm afraid this 'deal' has been revoked by the Lenmaster Faldo Featherfoot on behalf of the Elderfolk.

 

Ye'd best re-draw yer maps because we are once again free from the rule o' you tall folk, we ain't a part of your 'Empire' and never will be. Sorry to be a hassle.
