Chapter I, A City Turned To Ash...

Year 0, the destruction of Iblees

Talk and panic was about, Cil’ri became worried as he passed through the clean white city in which the Humans rested. He darted his eyes around every corner as the panicked city folk rushed past him, looking for their families; so was Cil’ri, he was looking for his averaged sized mother which had a monotone voice and waddled slightly like a penguin, his father was a minor craftsmen, he was a helper at the local blacksmith, making an average amount of money that was enough to pay off the bills.

He took a sharp left as he stopped, seeing his house burnt down. He looked blankly at the house as he weakly fell to his knees; Aegis was beginning to crumble into the nether. As Cil’ri fell to the ground he heard clashing of armour, two guardsmen walked over to the boy, concerned and weary of his safety. They picked him up by the arms as they began to carry him to the docks: making the final escape from Aegis.

They arrived at the docks as they placed Cil’ri down, turning back to view the city which began to burn, evil creatures killing off the survivors. The guards broke into tears as Cil’ri looked at the city, not wanting revenge, nor wanting to avenge his parents; he stood there for moments until a single tear dropped from his eye, he turned around, walking onto the ship as he sets off for distant lands...

Chapter II, A New Beginning...

Cil’ri walked down the temple steps of the godly home of the Monks, timid, yet kind people. He walks under a small building, almost looking like a gazebo, he finds two chests which are parallel to each other; a neatly written sign is hung above the chests, reading “Fresh Bread”.

Cil’ri smiles as he opens the first chest, finding it empty, yet a half eaten piece of moldy bread left in the corner. He makes a gagging noise as the foul stench hits his nose, he slams the chest shut, gasping for the fresh, moist air around him. He grunts as he turns to the second chest, opening it, finding nothing in the chest. He shuts it.

His ears perk up as he faintly hears the sound of chatter, he edges closer to it, keeping low yet giving slight signs that he’s near. He listens to the conversation of the three elves; they speak of the Dwarvish lands, in other words: The Kingdom Of Urguan. Famine furrows a brow as he listens to the dull, yet slightly interesting conversation. He hears them speak of the locations and vague directions towards it.

Cil’ri’s ears stop twitching as he looks to the archway which leads across a bridge and into Urguan... He begins to weigh the risk, he’s never travelled along a road alone. He purses his lips as he slowly stands up, casually walking towards the archway, across the bridge, and through a tunnel, finally walking alone the hard stone road.

Chapter III, Years Have Passed...

Long years have passed... Cil’ri has been lost in the woods, surviving off a small stream of water, and wild animals which roam the area. He’s lost count of his age, not remembering his own birthday, or the short years of his mother adoring him, loving him; warmth has strayed away from the foul creature, he’s even forgot his own name...

He dwells in the forests of Urguan, a cold and harsh place to live. Locals that live on the outskirts of the forest have known him as a hermit gone mad, they now refer to him as ‘Famine’, for he has not enough food to eat.

He begins to wonder about the long years that have past, he hasn’t seen a villager roam by in almost a  decade; he begins to wonder if the population of Asulon has moved once again... He nears a road, hearing the loud patter of footsteps. He pokes his head up from the ditch in which he’s hiding in. He sees a large crowd of Dwarves passing by, seeming to flee from something; not knowing what: he follows...

He reaches the group as they walk into the center of the Cloud Temple, making their way to the docks. Other’s pile in as well, Humans from Oren, Elves from Malinor, Dwarves from Urguan, and odd creatures, looking almost cat-like, Kharajyr from the Karakatuan Empire; all these races were building up at the Asulonian docks, ready to make a voyage to a new land.

Famine gets caught in the center of all the races, not knowing where he belongs, not knowing what he truly is. He compares himself to the Elves, he has pointy ears almost like daggers, he’s tall... He closely compares himself to them as he walks into the crowd, entering on the ship...

Chapter IV, Once Again...

Loud chatter uproars as large groups of Elves exit the ship, pushing others aside. Famine stands near the back, being one of the last to exit the ship. He looks around at the large crops, golden, fresh wheat growing from the dark rich soil. He watches others pass him as he walks weakly, wheezing, groaning per every step. He looks in the free bread chest, the smell of fresh loaves of bread hit his nose; he covers his nose as he slams the chest, his like of raw meat as grown, he has forgot the taste of bread, he doesn’t bother to touch it due to not knowing what it is.

He turns around as he walks down the stone cold pathway, oftenly tripping on the large potholes. He finally makes it out, gasping for air, not taking in much due to his weak lungs. He looks at four signs which show directions to each races’ land. He observes them, reading them slowly.

He recognizes the sign which reads ‘To The Lands Of Urguan’. He looks to his right, roaming down the swerving path, less potholes beginning to show. He takes another right as he reaches the fork in the road between the Dwarves and Orcs. As he walks down the road he feels the climate dropping, he starts to shiver due to his lack of clothes.

He begins to see snowflakes float down from the tall sky, landing on the ground before him. As he hikes deeper into Urguan he notices the amount of snow rising, turning into full out snowbanks, covering the pathway from all sight.

Famine squints as he tries to make out the pathway, walking along the snow covered road. He takes a left as he walks down another pathway, this one being a lot bolder and easier to see. He stops as he meets a tall wall, he looks up as he sees a guard looking down at him.

“What business brings you to Vear’Heaven?” He asks as he leans in closer, observing Famine’s brittle structure.

Famine looks up at the man as he wheezes weakly, spit gathering up in his mouth as he begins to breathe weakly, making a hissing noise “Ssssss- I look for shelter,” he says in a rather shaky tone. The man looks over Famine as he shrugs, opening the gate, then closing it as Famine enters the city.

Famine enters the city, the stone-bricked road slightly covered with snow. He walks down the road as he walks up a set of steps, walking into the town square. He looks around the empty town square... Not seeing anyone. He sighs as he sits down on the fountain’s edge, burying his face in the palms of his hands.

Chapter V, An Odd Civilization...

Rosso walks up beside Famine as he looks down at the half naked animal “Oi there pal,” he says in a firm, yet joyful tone.

Famine looks up from the ground as he faces Rosso “Ssss- hello there,” he says in a bored, dull tone.

Rosso looks over Famine as he nods firmly “What brings you to Vear’Heaven?” He asks in his cheerful tone.

“Shelter...” Says Famine as his dull red eyes look at Rosso, “Ssss- but I have no minass”

Rosso looks over the ‘creature’ as he nods firmly “Pick out a house lad and come back to me later,” says Rosso.

Famine looks back up at Rosso as he stands up “Ssss- houssess are for free?” He asks

Rosso grins “Not really...” he replies in an un-eased tone.

Famine somewhat winces at the comment as he nods, not saying another word. He shifts to the left as he begins to walk around the town... Observing the houses.

He looks at the houses, the roofs nicely done, the walls of nice stone, he runs his thin hand along the bumpy stone walls of the house. He sighs as he takes his hand back, not liking the feeling of the houses. He begins to walk back to Rosso and talk to him before he stumbles on the entrance to Vear’Heaven’s underground. He looks down at the staircase as he looks around; he shrugs as he walks down the steps, roaming around the sewers.

He roams around the sewers as he stumbles upon a small opening, walking in, the room is dark, books and stones are scattered along the ground; a large spiral staircase is in the center of the room, leading down to what looks like a torturing chamber. Famine grows a liking for the room, it’s silent and very unnoticeable due to people rarely wandering into the sewers.

He exits the room as he takes a firm nod, walking back to the entrance of the sewers and exiting it, heading for Rosso to have a conversation of his findings.

Chapter VI, A New Discovery...

Famine walks up the castle steps, following behind Rosso. He brings him into an open hall within the castle, sitting there is they Jarl, short and chunky compared to Famine. They all sit down at a table as they exchange looks.

Rosso begins discussing of Famine, the Jarl looking back to Famine and confirming with him what Rosso is speaking. The Jarl turns back to Famine as he asks him about his past life, and how he got here. Famine took a deep breath as he nods, running the Jarl through a vague story of his past; the Jarl seeming to nod between each sentence.

Famine finishes as Rosso’s face seems to look disgusted and disturbed due to the minor details Famine added in. The Jarl adjusts his position as he looks Famine in his red, dull eyes; he nods in confirmation as he looks to Rosso, giving him a nod as well. Rosso looks back to Famine as he motions his hand, ordering Famine to follow.

Famine looks back at the Jarl for moments as he turns to Rosso, following behind him, struggling to keep up with his fast pace.

The two walk through the town as they make their way into the sewers, and stopping before Famine’s new dwellings.

Rosso looks back to Famine “This is your choice?” He asks in an interested voice.

Famine nods as he looks forward at the small ‘cave’ “Sssss- it’ss quiet here...” he says as he turns to Rosso, his red eyes seeming to widen.

“Hrm...” he grunts as he walks into the small cave, looking around “So you want Salamandra’s old home?”

Famine quirks a brow as he enters the cave, looking around once again; he looks back to Rosso as he blinks casually “Ssssss- Ssalamandra?” He asks in question.

Rosso nods “Yes, Salamandra: a powerful mage, we haven’t seen him for long, you might as well take over his place,” he says as he kicks a rock.

Famine’s face seems to lighten up as he hears Rosso’s statement, he thanks him many times; Rosso seeming to constantly tell him it’s not much. He begins to back away as he walks out of the sewers, leaving Famine alone to tend to his newly gained land.
