The Undead

It has come to my attention, through my past few days playing on the server, that the Undead cannot be beat. That is, unless extroirdinary action is taken. I have fough in several engagements at the undead fort know as Wrath's Castle. Everytime we attacked, we were slughtered en masse. Most of us were cut down while in retreat. We outnumbered them 2-1, but they still wiped us out.

Also, in Snowy Field, a 40 person army was slughtered by about 10 undead. With those odds, we will not be able to survive an invasion for long. The North is a virtual warzone, and the area around wrath's castle is a deadzone. I had to leave my home near there because it was burnt down in a battle. If the undead were to attack Laurelin, we would be hard pressed to fend them off. That is if anyone actually defended Laurelin. I have no idea how big the wardens are, but we probably can't even field ten warriors at a time.

This is a warning to all elves. If conditions don't improve, the undead could be knocking on our doors in a week.

The settlements in the North are what keeps the Undead in the North. A massive attack shouldn't happen on Laurelin for a while. First they will attack Al'Kahzar if anything. They may even attack the Dwarfs. Laurelin is in no danger for the time being. Once the Big Settlements get attacked, then we will be in grave danger.

I am no great warrior or tactician and I have never been to the North, but from my experience in tracking and moving about unseen in the wilds I know that the best way assure a lethal blow is to keep hidden until you've closed the distance to your target.

From what I've heard the dwarves are mighty miners and diggers. Why not have them tunnel into hostile territory, across the battlefield and as close to the castle as possible. Having prepared you could then launch an attack. If they don't see us coming, they will have trouble defending their keep.

While a reasonably sized force could march above ground to distract them from discovering the ones in the tunnel, these could surface from behind the undead fiends. By converging from several positions the enemy would have to divide their attention, maybe becoming separated, the following confusion making their offensive power a bit easier to overcome.

All the races of Aegis would need to unite to defeat the undead. With that many of us, we may be able to breach their walls, and crush them. But this is just a maybe.

There is no 'would'. Every time there has been and undead attack all races of Aeigs have rose to the challenge, where ever it may be. If the undead where to attack Laurelin it would be no different. Possibly even easier to defend the undead because of it's central location.

I will tell you this. The people of Snowy Fields and Alstion will keep them at bay for the time being, because we have established a treaty. Even though I dislike the treaty, it can be a good thing. We need all the races to unite. The undead are strong, but they can never match the hearts of 4 nations greatest armies, and many militia soldiers willing to give up their lives for what they believe in.

If you want to help, we always are in need of soldiers and guards in Snowy Fields and Alstion. Elves are welcomed!

The treaty is deception I believe. Don't put your Guard down, thats when they will strike.

*looking around ensuring no Undead can be listening*

I.. have some skills that you may find useful.

I have been to the very gates of the Undead keep. Spoken to their fierce warriors without any speck of fear or emotion in my eye, and I did not die. In fact, I have been INSIDE the tower.

My skills to talk myself out of situations are vital, and if we can get one or two people INSIDE the tower, we may be able to preform different operations.

---

Now, when you get inside, the walls surround the tower, and there is a sort of "grounds" between the walls and the actual tower, covering it like a circle.

On top of the walls is where most of the guards and warriors keep watch.

Usually there's only one or two on top of the gate, I have not seen more, but they have advantages, as they can attack you (with magic) but you cannot attack them.

One will probably not be inside the tower alive unless another Undead has brought you inside to question you or something of the like (that's how I got in).

You go down a simple flight of stairs, and upon turning a sharp left through a small doorway, you enter a sort of lounge, or some central room. Beautiful minerals and obsidian line the floors and walls, and a fire place is nearby.

I passed through there, and was taken down another flight of stairs to a system of hallways where one is to be question in one of the rooms.

I didn't risk it, but I believe it is relatively easy to escape into the hallways , as they are maze-like, and you could quite easily evade the escorter. Mine traveled further in front of me, and only once in a while looked back to see if I was still there. I had the chance to fall behind a corner and run the opposite direction, and explore the tower while staying hidden (it'd be hard.)

Also what's possible, is that we could wear cloaks like the undead do, and thus we could disguise ourselves as undead once where inside the castle, so walking around and passing another, we will not raise too much suspicion, as long as we keep conversation to a minimum.

Then if we could locate the portals inside the tower, we'd have further knowledge on how to reach and destroy them when we do this with an army, so as to momentarily stop the influx of Undead, greatly reducing the amount of attacks and back up. The army would have to attack then and there. With as many people as we can get to join.

It will be tricky, but possible.

I am willing to help preform this task. I have a currently rebellion to the undead going on, so another group of warriors would be great. ((look for post Unite of all, in general roleplay))

Note that they do have magic. Upon leaving my interrogation, I was told that I could have no memory of the event, and I thought they were going to wipe my memory or something.

But they're not that merciful.

They struck me with lightning. I held my strength and tried to stay alive, but after 6 or 7 strikes, I lost my balance, and fell over. I thought it was the end, I died.

But somehow, I awake in the Cloud Temple. The miracles of the monks saved me from INSIDE the tower. And I awoke with vivid memory of the event.

This IS possible. We just need to focus.

I can be the one which goes into the tower to locate the portals. We might want another, depending on the situation, in case we need backup, as if one us is discovered, the other can continue.

We can do this. The Undead say they are never to be defeated. Let's prove them wrong.

i would like to say to all wardens who read this and want to fight the undead. you cannot fight the undead in an attack without an officer of t3 or higher present at the battle and leading you. if we do find put you fight there without an officer an punishment will be there.

There have been several developments in the war against the undead. Snowy Fields, or more rather, what is left of it, has been retaken the the fortress removed. Also, the undead keep in the north has been obliterated.

Some troubling news is that the citizens of Alstion are getting sick of war. Several of the remaining core players are discussing packing up their bags and leaving. If this were to happen, Al'khazzar would definitely be in striking range of the undead. Also, there have been undead sightings outside of Laurelin, Al'Khazzar, Alras, and Ravenhold. We must stak vigilant in these dark times, and hope that our leaders figure out a way to hold the north.

Alstion has fallen. The only place that the undead can go now is south. We must defend Al'Khazzar to the last!

It seems like we never win. We cannot defeat them by attacking/defending them.

We must take a different approach. One that does not involve direct conflict...

We are just as powerful as the Undead. It costed two of our towns to destroy two of their fortresses.
