Edict of Salvus

 

I

Succession

 

By decree of His Majesty Garth Hightower, King of Salvus, Duke of Alras, and head of House Hightower, Aron Bedevere is to be placed as the immediate successor of the Salvian Throne, and all of its titles/fiefs.


 

II

Reclamation

 

By order of His Majesty the King of Salvus, Aron Bedevere, Count of Kingshire, Regent of Salvus, and Herald of Kingston, all former counties and baronies are to be reclaimed, and taken under the control of the Kingdom. The Ashby estate will rest in control of Dawn Ashby and her family. The County of Kingshire will stay in control of His Royal Majesty, Aron Bedevere, until a suitable heir is chosen. The County of Sherwood is to be reclaimed by the Salvian Crown. The Barony of Clan McHarnish is to be reclaimed by the Salvian Crown. The fort north of the “emperor’s forest” is to be reclaimed, and condemned by the Salvian Crown. Any who hold claim to any Salvian land may seek counsel with His Royal Majesty.

 

III

Allegiance

 

The Kingdom of Salvus, His Majesty, King Aron Bedevere, and all of the kingdom’s vassals are sworn under the Grand King, Thorin Grandaxe. The Salvian crown will remain devout in their fealty to the grand kingdom, and her people.

 

IV

Religion

 

Until the time that His Majesty, King Aron Bedevere is removed from ex-communication by the High Pontiff, Salvus will remain a religiously free kingdom. All are free to practice their own faiths, so long as they do not worship devilish deities.

 

V

Vassals

All vassals of the Kingdom of Salvus are sworn under His Majesty, King Aron Bedevere, and as a result, are subjects of the Grand Kingdom of Uruguan. In a time of war, the grand marshal of Uruguan may call upon the Salvian legion; in efforts to strengthen this legion, Salvus’s various vassals will combine into the Salvian legion, which will be led by the Lord-Commander, Thomas Siegmen. All disputes between Salvian vassals must be resolved civilly. At no point may two vassals of Salvus go to war with one another. In the event of a dispute, the issue at hand will be brought to His Majesty, King Aron Bedevere.


 

VI

Land

 

By the will of His Majesty, King Aron Bedevere, all land that is given by the crown must be run past His Majesty, and approved of. Under no circumstances may a vassal begin construction of any towns/settlements without first seeking His Majesty’s permission. All vassals are required to keep His Majesty informed on the happenings of their various Counties/baronies.

 

VII

Lords

His Majesty, The King of Salvus’s council consists of His Lord-Steward, the eyes and ears of the kingdom. The Lord-Steward carefully watches over the three Lord’s of the council, Lord-Treasurer, Lord-Mayor, and Lord-Commander. Each Lord holds their own responsibilities, and are relied on heavily to manage day to day life in Salvus. His Majesty, King of Salvus, may declare one of his lord’s in a state of “executive power”, giving him rank over the rest of the kingdom’s respect lords/counts/barons.
