Twenty seven years since she had been with him. Azel. The man she had loved more than any. She had fallen hard for the strong and stotic Azel Bloodseeker the moment she first met him. She had tried to become a good person for him, a mother, but it did not end well. Azel was supposedly killed and when she learned he lived, she was heart broken he had left without her. Her fall into who she was now started. Her only companion from Darkhaven had been Marek.

Yes, he was annoying to even her, but she felt a connection deep. They stayed close friends even as she became betrothed to a human prince, Garth Horen-Hightower. Why did she marry him? Power. She had returned to her darker ways. She began using him until the day she learned she was with child, his child. Fearing the worst for her children, she fled the land and went into hiding, only to resurface a few times for Garth and her son.

Soon time went by and she spoke to Godfrey, willing to end the torment of her children. She annulled the marriage with Garth, sparing her children and freeing her from the shackles of Oren scrutiny, for now. She started growing close once more to her Mali'ker cousin, Khel Oussana. She felt at home, safe with someone so familiar in her life. He marked her with his family crest and soon she became an Oussana, sister to him only in name.

Things progressed quickly out of control. With the loss of her adopted daughter and friend Sha, Laila began to regress clinging to everything she can before she lost it all. First she found herself tied with Adorellan, killed once just for kissing him. Their relationship bloomed and she soon was ready to be called a mother. However, with her anger clouding her judgement once more, she soon lost that right to the dark brotherhood.

She was hunted once more. Everytime she though she would get a chance to have the child of her love, it was snuffed out quickly. It became even worse when her brother proclaimed his love to her. Unable to keep herself from returning his affections, it was learned of her two timing. Adorellan seems understanding at first. It wasnt until she was with child, that she learned how cold he was, even to her.

Forced to cut out her own unborn, to commit the sin herself instead of letting the dark brotherhood member do it for her, she died. Her stomach heavily scarred from the incident. She learned of Adorellan now betrothed to a Horen girl and believed it was her time to move on. She went in search of her brother, in hopes of finding peace, only to learn she was untrustworthy.

No. He did not say it. He asked for her to become trustworthy. With a gobo distracting him, Laila disappeared once more into the darkness of the forest. Her heart heavy with the sins she committed. She began writing letters to her friends, her lovers, and her family. Whether they wished to receive the bird or not was up to them. Laila would stay in hiding.

Sin she had committed, sin she must rid. Her heart slowly steeled and she knew what she had to do. Blood would begin to stain areas of Malinor, Abresi, and even Salvus. Who's it was hard to say, however in each area was a carved marking of the Darkspire clan. Laila had regressed to her former self. From the darkness a pair of crimson eyes will always be watching, waiting for the right time to strike.

Art feels a scar on his cheek, three now, almost like cat's whiskers, he would joke.

The longest one was given to him by the woman who'd entrusted him with the safety of her daughter.

Khel receives Laila's message. He returns the bird to its master, with writing written on the back of her previous letter

Your brother always will remain at your side
