Merkaken 516 Share Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) This is a mainly for Orogs, but any Orcs can be involved, of course. Orogs should make their mark in Orcish lands by having their own unique culture, while also being involved with Orcish culture. These ideas can be subtle or dynamic. If you have any ideas, please post them below. Obviously writing down ideas won't work if no one actually puts it into action. I obviously have no authority over what Orogs/Ologs do, but I just thought it'd be a good idea to write down what we Orogs/Orcs would like to see out of Orogs, or what they should live like, where their live, architecture, etc. Please give a reason behind your idea! I'll put down my own ideas: Orog homes should be giant caves called Orog Mounds (Yes, like Ogre mounds from World of Warcraft) with different tunnels to a different Orog's blarg. The Mounds have places for Orogs to practice battle, feast, eat, farm, sleep, and simply talk to other Orogs. Obviously, not all Orogs are forced to live in Mounds, but it'd be a good way to keep in touch with fellow Orogs. We could make the mounds rather large, considering that regular Uruk blargs are generally too small for the massive size of Orogs. Uruks and gobos would obviously also be welcome in mounds, it'd just be more sized for Orogs. Orogs should be more inclined to using hammers or clubs. Reason being that swords require training, at least some direction, and at least some finesse to use. Orog clubs and hammers are just massive weapons that only require you to swing in the general direction of the target. Orog clubs and hammers made by Orogs would at best be either made from wood or stone, unless an Uruk or Gobo teaches the Orog how to forge other metals. Even then, the Orog would need a lot of help with the complexity of metalsmithing. Orog's diet should consist of majorly meat and bread, with little to no vegetables. Meat contains high protein, builds muscle, has lots of fat, and obviously, very very tasty. Bread contains lots of calories, which is important for Orogs to grow big and strong, and maintain their massive body weight, but if given the option, Orogs prefer to eat tons and tons of meat in order to gain weight. Orogs tend to stay away from vegetables, considering they contain less fat and calories than bread or meat. If the vegetables are mixed in with meat or bread, then the Orog might eat it, but it's iffy. Another reason they rarely eat vegetables is because the majority of them taste nasty, and taste is a huge part of an Orog's diet! Vegetables, however, are acceptable in a stew. In Orog society, the fatter you are, the higher honor and higher standing in Orog society you are. the fatter you are, by Orogs, you are assumed you are a good hunter... And by hunter, Orogs are able to catch an animal or able to just hit an animal very hard on the head with a club. Orogs tend to not set traps or stalk their prey. Orogs slap each others belly in a manner of greetin, much like how Uruks headbutt each other in greeting. This is a sign of repsect among Orogs, acknowlodging the other Orog's belly and giving the other Orog their respect as well as a hearty hello! If you have any other ideas, please post below! I can't stress this enough, these are just IDEAS. I have no authority over Orogs, or Uruks, or anything. Just thought i'd take the initiative to bring some spice into Orog culture and make them more enticing to play. If you have ideas you want to do, please don't just write them down, put them into action! Post your thoughts~ -Edit Orogs rarely take slaves alive. They simply have no use for them, other than companionship, even then, they normally talk to other Orcs. Orogs normally use slaves as ingrediants in food, mainly stew. The only reason an Orog would keep a slave alive is if someone asked them to. Edited September 11, 2013 by Gorg the Fat
hellfiazz 879 Share Posted September 11, 2013 I like them all. Perhaps also, with the help of Gobos and Uruks in forging them, they could also use very, very large swords, that as well as the club or hammer, when used by an Olog would only require a swing in a general direction, but would allow Ologs to literally split groups of people in half, if enemies were all bunched up and the Olog got a good swing. Definitly a possibility! But maybe not being able to cut a group of people in half. That might be a bit power-gamy. But I do see wat you mean. Like a very large bastard sword! Aislin 4354 Share Posted September 11, 2013 In Orog society, the fatter you are, the higher honor and higher standing in Orog society you are. Will Gronkk be the Orog god then? Also, I like it a lot. The only thing I'm iffy about is the mounds just because I don't know where the hell we'd put them. We could simply put the mounds on the hill leading up to Gronkkston. Gronkkbelly, though, is another story. We could definitly use a hill by Gronkkston. I'd personally prefer to have the mound itself be inside the actual city. If not in use, we could put the mouth of the mound in the top right part of the city (Top right if you're walking in the city from the front gate), and then dig a tiny bit under the city, then build tunnels down there. Of course, if that's not a possibility, one of the hills by Gronkkston would work fine i'm sure.

Ned Lud 1260 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Perhaps the underground cavern system could also function as a sewer. Sprinkle a few piss holes around town that you can also drop trespassers into. Watch them scramble in the sewage as the dinner bell is rung below. I also had an idea for a giant, orc-smithed statuary war-horn that would rest in the center of an orcish encampment that could be blown to summon orcs from all over to raid or war. This would allow orcs to /modreq a server broadcast to announce raids. Perhaps the requirement would be that an Orog is the only one strong enough to blow the war horn and also it would take multiple Orog to move the horn from camp to camp. Just an idea I was kicking around while inactive.

Bakerismaxamis 122 Share Posted September 11, 2013 I love this idea. I'll be more then happy to join the Org community with Zor'Tuc if this idea comes through with action. +1!

Aislin 4354 Share Posted September 11, 2013 A huge thank you to Aisling for the belly-slap greeting. I also like Ned's ideas. The goblins have begun creating an undercity within the sewer, the Orogs would be cool there too. Might as well use that space we got and ensure that it doesn't go empty. Gobbos and Orogs don't have the largest numbers, now, so keeping them together would be great. Not to mention watching them bicker would be hilarious. Also, that War horn ******* yes.

It'd give the Orogs home in the actual city, and it'd be less work. Just expect it to smell MUCH worse.
