Character Sub-race: Kha'Pantera



Character appearance (Including age and gender): S'Yaotl is a young, male Kha'Pantera. He is 23 years old and has very smooth and sleek fur. He wears a brown toga like cloth covering his waist and parts of his torso. He wears several rings on his fingers.



What is the personality of your character like?: S'Yaotl has a quiet but calculating personality. He mostly keeps to himself but is always watching his surroundings. He is loyal to his friends and his people but is disgusted by the apes and the other, lower-class races. He is not particularly strong but he is cunning and fast, making up for his lack of physical strength.



Biography (If you are applying as a kitten, please only state the name of your parents/siblings)[/b] S'Yaotl was raised among other Kha'Pantera for the first 10-15 years of his life. His mother gave birth to a litter of 7 kittens but one died at a young age. He grew up with his remaining 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and was taught the ways of their pride by his mother, father and maternal grandmother. He learned of Metzli and the history of the proud race that is the Kha'. At a young age he discovered that although we was not the strongest cub in his family, he was easily the smartest. He could have used this to take advantage of his brothers and sisters but decided against it. He is now a young Kha'Pantera and is looking to find his place in the world.

[b]Character’s ambitions within the Kharajyr:[/b] S'Yaotl hopes to use his thinking abilities to either become a merchant, selling his wares around the island and the main land, or become a skilled battle commander. Not engaging in fights himself, but helping plan attacks and how to defend the Kha' from the mainland races.



[b]Character’s strengths/weaknesses:[/b] S'Yaotl is very smart and fast but he is not very strong. He is very thin and though he has tried, has not been able to bulk up in any way. He is able to use his brain to outsmart others but is not able to wield any weapons in battle.

[b]Situational Roleplay Questions

1. You are heading home from a successful hunting trip when a group of three heavily armoured humans jump out from behind a tree and start demanding the surrender of your catch over to them. Each man has a sword drawn and they are gradually pacing towards you...



How does your character react?[/b]

S'Yaotl quickly surveys the situation. The sun is low in the sky behind him but unfortunately a tree branch is blocking the sun from the humans. He hisses menacingly at them causing them to pause for a second, but they continue their slow prowl towards S'Yaotl. He continues to back up slowly until the sun breaks through the trees and momentarily blinds the humans. He uses this split second advantage to push his way through the confused humans and using his superior speed, sprints away.





[b]2. You arrive at the temple of Metztli only to see one of your closest friends stealing the sacred blue gems from the altar, a most unholy act for a Kharajyr.



How does your character react?[/b]

S'Yaotl sees his friend steeling several of Metzli's sacred blue gems. He quickly hides behind a pillar to contemplate his situation. He either turns him in and ruins their friendship, or betrays his godess and let's his friend go free. The choice comes easily to him. He quickly finds a guard and they manage to catch the culprit before he gets away. S'Yaotl slowly shakes his head as his friend is dragged past him, the disappointment clear in his eyes.



[b]3. You are in the Cloud Temple when a stout, angry little dwarf begins yelling highly racist terms towards you at the top of his lungs. Although unarmed, the dwarf continues to yell after he makes eye contact with you.



How does your character react?[/b]

S'Yaotl hears the insults but does not respond. He calmly continues what he is doing, waiting for the dwarf to stop. When he doesn't and the insults get louder, S'Yaotl simply walks away. He will not be forced to aggravation by such a silly thing. After all, it is only a dwarf, someone from the mainland who will not be given a second thought. The dwarf increases his yelling as he thinks that S'Yaotl has become angered and decided to walk away. S'Yaotl smiles grimly as he walks away. Next time he sees that dwarf again, he won't be so kind.



[b]4. Fire has broken out over the jungle city and you can hear the screaming of two Kha’ nearby. As you go investigate, you notice that one of your friends and the Tlatlanni’s white-furred child have gotten themselves trapped in opposite ends of a burning building. The roof creaks above you, if you were to get involved, you would only have time to save one before the building collapsed.



How does your character react?[/b]

S'Yaotl makes a split second decision and run's towards the Tlatlanni's cub. Friends are important to him but his nation is even more important. He sprints up to the building, looking for a safe way in. He scrambles up a tree and jumps in through an upper window. He calls out to the cub as it is difficult for him to see through all the smoke. He eventually finds the cub and escapes the way he came in, landing hard on his back but cushioning the fall of the cub. They retreat to the relative safety of the waterfront.
