Baconthief 682 Share Posted October 3, 2013 You walk enter into the city of malinor, home of the children of the first son, Malin. A gentle breeze rolls through the city, causing the long blades of grass to arch forward with the breeze. Insects buzz about you, busy with their own tasks of the day, while birds all through the forest are heard chirping and singing. As you stand in the city square, something catches your eye inside the newest building of the elven capital. [A Large banner hangs in the doorway of the building, the symbol seen below is etched onto the green banner] As you marvel the craftsmanship of the banner, having been sown and created with the same beauty and elegance of all elven crafts, you notice writing below the banner, etched into the wood of the building The Lumidrim Defenders of life and innocence in Malin’s forests. The vindicators of life and peace, and the bane of disorder an evil. May those few who defend this forest carry the strength a prowess to maintain the peace and order of Malin’s teachings You find yourself curious and look further into the information provided that concerns the Lumidrims Payroll Those guards who have invested their time in serving and fighting for the ideals of Malin will be paid a healthy sum of coin for simply making their presence in the defense of their homeland. Payment ranks for two hundred mina to a Sentinel(Initiate rank) to four hundred minas to wardens (officer) To ensure that the individuals are to receive their payment, they’re to report to an officer twice in an elven week, these meetings will be recorded. Despite the “check ins” you’re expected to act as a guard at all time, not just to receive payments However, an individual who does not comply with their duties as a guard will have wages slashed slashed, or removed totally Those mali injured in battle will still be compensated during their time out of the Lumidrim; however, they must still comply with the rules above to receive payment. Quest System [Note that only those within the lumidrim may see and partake in this] Quests are another manner at which a lumidrim guard can obtain mina. By following through with specific tasks, arrests warrants, and other odd-jobs a lumidrim can obtain a healthy sum of mina. Only officers, high council members, and possibly foreign nation leaders may generate and create a quest for the Lumidrim Arrest Warrant: Theus (500 mina) In the city of Lenniel a cannibal has been identified to live among the city freely. Such abominations on peace, order, and the teachings of our father cannot be tolerated in our peaceful forest. Capture this being alive, as he is to be shown the error of his ways. I have done little investigating on this man, but I know that current residence is in Lenniel and he is mali'ker, you may come find me if you have difficulty locating it. If the man can not be brought in alive, you will receive only half the reward of what you could potentially earn. Investigation: Anarchist(100 mina) A female who helps operate the D’harron General store is believed to have taken part in anarchist activity. If this is true, then she cannot be allowed to further the blight of chaos in our realm. Find evidence of her chaotic behavior, and you will be rewarded with a simple reward: One hundred fifty minas. If you do uncover evidence, be aware of an arrest warrant to arise soon Arrest Warrant: Mayumi (600 mina) This wretched cannibalistic pale-skin has followed through with countless acts of thoughtless murders. She has been seen consuming the flesh of corpses, doing it so publicly. These are the mali who brought the white rose to hate our people. They falsely represent our peaceful race. Children are the most precious of elven treasures, as result of our curse. To harm an elven child is to evoke the harshes punishment and action. This mali has slain an elven child Bring her to me alive and you will be rewarded, dead and you will receive half the reward Lumidrim mages: Ilerdrim Under the leadership of Resia Los’iirae, the mages of Mali’nor seek to vindicate order amongst the disorder. They defend their homeland just as any man with blade or bow, yet they use the might of magic. These individuals are separate from those who use physical tools to defeat those who bring disorder to our home, yet they are to serve the same purpose. These magii too love life and their home enough to take up arms to defend it. These individuals will carry ranks, rights, and privileges of their own Structure March-Warden: The leader of the Lumidrim is in charge of all those below him. He or she formulates the organization that is to defend his or her homeland. This individual has proven himself to strong in both physical(or magical) strength and competence. March-Wardens are selected by the high council. Warden: Warden is the officer ranks of the Lumidrim. They’re to ensure proper training, payment, and discipline is present in the Lumidrim. You will generate four hundred minas every seven elven days, a one hundred minas above the common soldiers. As an officer you are expected to help in the management of the Lumidrim, from issuing quests and tasks to updating rosters and handing out payments. Wardens may also promote individuals from Sentinel to Vanguard. To become a warden you’re to be selected by the March-Warden or by the high council (Although that is a rare action) Lumilleran: Taken from the elven word “Iler” meaning “wizard” and “lumi” meaning “shining” Lumilleran have rights and privileges similar to an officer. They will receive three hundred and fifty minas every elven week. Among themselves, they’re expected to formulate their own hierarchy.(Often times based on skill and competence) The leader however, is chosen by the March-Warden Vanguard: A vanguard makes up the main force of the lumidrim. He is to receive 300 minas as a regular pay (Rewards of increased pay can be given to those who prove themselves). They hold the keys to all of the cities’ defenses as well as having access to armor (You must ask an officer or Prince/princess first though) Sentinel: The lowest rank among the lumidrim. You’re to prove your competence by impressing the officers above you. You will receive two hundred minas every elven week if you follow the payroll rules set up by the march warden Uniform ((Skin by Ryder)) Mage-skin soon to come Payments of other forms: Gate guarding http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/98573-malinor-gate-payment-lumidrim/ How does one join the Lumidrim? Well, you will not join here for sure! (Unless you are going to do some forum rp through pms to join) No, lotc has its full of tedious and boring applications designed to accomplish absolutely nothing. You will have to come to Malinor in rp and speak with a Warden or the March-Warden about joining the ranks of the Lumidrim Or if you must fill out an application, look to this http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/98387-the-new-lumidrim-elven-guardians/

Aeyrius stares at the article, silent, blank expression, speechless, thoughtless, before walking away, hand running over his Captain Insignia, picking under it, gritted teeth quite visible. Kaldo throws his arms in the arm, officially giving up. I've not seen its activity or anyone playing on it, so I was unaware of any attempts making it better. Contact me and we can work something out
Aeus 2653 Share Posted October 4, 2013 *Loh'an walks towards the banner, inspecting it very carefully. Once he is done, all that is seen come out from his mouth is* "For the love of Malin..." *Other elves stare at him as he walks away back to guarding the square*

GloryorSolitude 94 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Parker'onn posts a short note on the bottom of the poster. "It is my understanding that the High Princess clarified in the past that the High Council does not have direct influence on the military. I believe it is time that Prince Khel relieves himself on the burden, instead of attempting another time, and another after that as it has been since Bircalin took command. Perhaps, instead, allow the military to sort itself out rather than trying what has been proven ineffective."

WuHanXianShi14 0 Share Posted October 8, 2013 Dear elves, Ask yourself who is benefitting Malinor. The people trying to promote order or the pessimists insisting they'll fail? Art returns this letter to the initial senders.
GloryorSolitude 94 Share Posted October 8, 2013 "The 'pessimists' you speak of are the ones who are insistent in taking course that has not been taken, and may yet work, rather than than stabbing once again in the dark. It is our greatest fear that we will continue this wretched habit of continuously putting the military through reformation only to have it die off after a few days. Change isn't something to be afraid of. It is needed, I would imagine."
