Shadeleaf 1022 Share Posted October 14, 2013 How many kills had they accomplished that day... three? Four... four. Lae concluded, almost begrudgingly as the memories of the day came back through his mind. All was usual to begin with, Eriya, that funny smelling pup, having been digging about in the fields outside the den and hunting in the forest, where the rest of the pack were either out on hunting trips of their own or lounging about in the den. Lae had let one of his younger pups out as well for the simple reason of not having the energy to stop the little ball of fur from leaving the inner cavern. That... is when the trouble started. The air was broken by a shrill howl from Eriya, or what she continuously attempted to pass off for a howl. Ears perking up Lae padded from the Den and into the light of day, blinded for a few moments before a clear picture came into sight. Eriya and another dark child, this one dressed in much more covering garments stood in the shadow of a black orc. Eyes snapping open, Lae ran out to meet the threat, jaws snapping as the orc moved from his path and whistled loudly, a thundering sound of paws in the distance present. This... was something Lae had not seen before, he had no doubt that his true pup had run off somewhere safe, and the sword wielding-fancily-dressed-two-leg could handle himself in combination with Eriya. Turning to meet the threat, Lae’s tail for once dropped as he eyed a lur wolf, fourteen feet in length from tail to shoulder, barreling towards him with jaws wide open. Quick on his feet Lae reacted with a dodge, the lur wolf’s claws dragging across his flank and causing him to drop to the ground, a roll followed just before Lae ended up back on his feet. These were hunters, well trained hunters Lae had no doubt, and the only way to play, would be to play dirty. A split second later Lae charged towards the hulking wolf's side, throwing himself into the variable wall of flesh and barely moving the figure as it, expectedly, batted him to the side, in the direction of clear land. Charging away towards the hill side, the Lur wolf once more focused on it’s master, who at this point Lae observed attempting to stomp down on Eriya... he would pay in due time lay promised himself. Regaining his breath and panting Lae observed the lur wolf charge forwards towards and take hold of the male-two-leg’s forearm. Without a second thought Lae seized his opportunity, and lunged at the beast’s hind leg, biting down with all his strength as the join collapsed upon itself, bone fragments breaking through skin as the lur wolf howled in pain, weight dropping to the side as the two-leg’s arm was released. What next happened was almost too swift for Lae to fully absorb, but it involved the two-leg drawing it’s blade and slipping under the howling lur wolf as Lae was in the process of bounding up the near mountain of flesh to get a hold of it’s neck. Lae bit down hard on the Lur wolf’s spinal column as un-tempered steel pierced the beast’s heart, the two-leg backing out fast as the great beast toppled over onto it’s now blood stained side, coming to a rest with a resounding “THUNK”. One down Attention turning towards the Orc both the two-leg and Lae seemed to be thinking the same thing, ‘get it off of Eriya’ who at this point was being kicked in all manner of places, ribs snapping and fractures running throughout her bones, all the while having held onto the back of the orc’s boot with her teeth, like a true wolf aiming for the tendons. As her gip failed and a kick aimed at her head, putting her out cold, Lae barrel rolled into the Orc’s legs head long, sending his full weight into it’s shins. To say the least, the orc was no easy block to topple, but he went down hard, keeping hold of a war Axe as he rolled down the hill. Lae regained his feet once more, glancing behind him to the two-leg, who seemed to catch the idea of helping Eriya, carrying her away at once to a clearing above the den as Lae darted down the hill to meet the orc. For a time they circled, Lay feigning towards the orc in the dew wet grass, with absolutely no response from the figure to Lae’s dismay. He would have to be direct with this one, and direct usually meant danger; but what was a wolf to do? This was the figure that hunted himself and his pack out from sheer malice... he would fall hard. And so it was he did, Lae diving towards the Orc’s axe arm, which swiftly veered to the side, sending the sensation of stinging steel across his flank yet again. Wasting no time and letting the pain only egg him onwards, Lae vied for a second mouth full of the Orc’s arm, this time having the expected result and crunching down hard on the tender flesh. As the orc let out a scream of pain and the pleasant taste of Iron filled Lae’s mouth, he shook his head violently back and forth, ripping apart flesh just as the Orc’s opposite hand came down hard at his throat, clamping down about the airway. Lae knew the trouble he was in immediately, but he would give his life for the pack, just as the pack would for him; his teeth pierced harder into the Orc, leaving heavy fractures in the bones concealed beneath the muscle. Vision beginning to fade, Lae suspected the end to be near, jaw locked tight as the other parts of his body began to numb... but what was this? Lae’s body met the ground with a thud as the orc gripped at it’s throat, blood spurting out from between it’s fingertips. The leith form of the two-leg from before dropped to the ground from behind the orc, bloodied short sword in hand, flicking the blood from the blade and replacing it in its sheath as the lifeless orc hit the ground, eyes glazed over and mouth slightly agape. All Lae could do was send a thankful glance towards the figure as the two-leg returned to the care of Eriya, Lae lying in repose for a long while there after. ~~~~~~~~ Lae decide the rest of the kills were much more trivial and complex to go into, between the man with the pumpkin atop his head, and the male that dressed like a woman, it was all much too confusing for this wolf, the end result being plenty of bodies resting in the woods above, preserved by dirt and the natural shade for later use and consumption. ‘When will they learn...’ Lae mused, ‘that they are not welcome here, invasion shall always be met with a swift death.’ the thought along with others passed through his mind before he drifted off into sleep within the musty corner of his den; what the morrow would hold was only known to the aspects. ((OOC time!)) Yet another little post detailing the goings on of our little pack, forgive any errors I didn't catch as it is 4 am. Nonetheless this did all happen in rp, between Knox, Targoth here, Alexander Valois, and quite possibly the high elves I had to logout on, living in the High Elven valley has proven to be a variable rp hub. There is your wolf update of the day, and here is a very pretty picture:
