I feel like 10 is a decent age to enforce; the character is still young with a lot of room for development as they get older. I've always hated RPing around a bunch of kid characters because it's either googoo gaga RP, spoiled brat/demon child RP, or 10k IQ soldier child RP
Any characters I've had that start at a young age I can only RP for like an hour before I wanna blow my brains out
[also increasing age will increase life expectancy of most human nobles that have big families in their early 20s]
Some people like doing the chaotic kid RP- just because that isn't for you doesn't mean the minimum time a character should be played should go up. If someone is RPing as a 10k IQ Child Soldier, report it- as far as I am aware that's grounds for powergaming.
