  2. A Diminishing Fellowship “Fih Kae'leh” In Effect as of; The 4th of Snow’s Maiden SA 158 Published through messengers across The Realms of Celia'nor and by aviary towards the Ranaleth Talonii With Ranaleth’s departure from Celia’nor and their mention of “The Utopia Pact'' established with Py’lrie, it is important to clarify and, unfortunately, diminish the Talonii’s collaboration with the previously mentioned pact. This is not an ever-lasting alliance, as Ranaleth has stated themselves as having departed from the lands of Celia’nor. Py’lrie’s agreed collaboration was to protect the lands within Celia’nor from the wicked, and as of writing this, Py'lrie still intends to do so without the need for any pact. Py’lrie wishes to clarify the following towards Ranaleth; The Py’lrie Talonii hold no ill will towards Ranaleth following the voidance of “The Utopia Pact." However, we cannot support their decisions in their departure, and we deny any claim that Py’lrie is assisting those outside the confines of Celia’nor. Py’lrie hold very strong to their beliefs of Talonii first, as well as the lands our Talonii reside in. Therefore, as of writing this “The Utopia Pact” is hereby void by Py’lrie. ____________________________________________________________________________ Signed, The Elder, Serigne Py’lrie, of the prestigious Evarir Talonnii, The Py’lrie, of the Principality of Celia’nor Her Ladyship, Irelia Py’lrie, Laurir Kaliri of the Esteemed Royal Council; Head Clinician, and Matriarch of the prestigious Evarir Talonnii, The Py’lrie, of the Principality of Celia’nor
  3. Serigne Py'lrie peered towards the news, glancing between her son and her daughter in law. Nose scrunched up, the elfess shook her head in disapproval, offering an extended hand to the both of them and spoke, "Come to me with all news of- this... We'll respond of this together in time." She assured the two, though with a tad hint of annoyance.

  9. Brows furrowing at the sight of the invitation, Serigne Py'lrie immediately, after reading through the supposed wedding announcement, saught out for a quill and note parchment to send the young Py'lrie a letter. The elderly elfess was visibly frustrated before the other members of the household, the invitation was then passed around.
  10. 20th of Snow’s Maiden, 108 of the Second Age… With only the pale glow of the moon to illuminate it, Rosina Py’lrie’s body seemed almost peaceful as it was laid before the gates. As a small crowd gathered about, the horrors of what had happened to the woman became more evident. Few had seen the silhouette of the figure that had dropped the woman’s body at the gates- a dark shroud, some said, that left a lingering chill as it slowly departed. The tone it spoke was ice to the skin of those who heard it, for it was flat and devoid of any care or regard for the poor victim’s life. None had a hint of a clue, but all agreed that had they lifted the hood, they would have seen Death herself. It must have been the cruel mistress herself to take Rosina’s life, but that did not stop further speculation as to whom it may have been. Those who looked first at the flayed patch of her arm claimed it was the work of an upstart cult. Two wandering humans came and felt the body: cold, drenched, clearly drowned. The work of highway robbers. Another citizen pointed out the jewelry- rings, necklaces, bands- stuffed in her mouth and surmised that the work was done by a blood magician. A thousand signs, each contradicting the last, gave rise to more and more theories, even as the body was finally lifted and brought to the clinic. Disemboweled. A common criminal? A gaping chest wound revealing a missing heart. A witch in need of ingredients for a spell? Her head had suffered some trauma. A falling rock? Other cuts, bruises, and wounds. Well, the forests were always dangerous at night. Perhaps it was an animal? These thoughts, and more, doubtless bounced throughout Valyris Wynasul’s mind as she cleaned the poor woman’s body, giving it the dignity that she had been robbed of in death. The specter that had dropped the body off at the gates seemed to unsettle everyone. Was it that figure that did the deed? A young boy had claimed to see a mali’ker woman suspiciously lingering about, claiming to look for a medic, but also giving a cold look to any who passed by. Could she have lured out Rosina, knowing her to be obligated to aid her? Who could be capable of such a horrible act? The moon of midnight rose high above the towers of Fi’andria, but that mattered little to Rosina Py’lrie. As Head Physician of Celia'nor, it was her duty to attend to all who needed help, and tonight a call for aid prompted her to take to her horse and make her way down to the lake just outside the city. It was a mali’ker woman with shining blue eyes who had begged her for help, but, oddly, as the two rode through the endless apple orchard down to the banks of the lake, the woman was silent. Was it shock, perhaps? Rosina had no time to care, though, such things were not for her to question. When they finally reached the scene, all but the injury itself seemed almost peculiar to Rosina. Two figures were near the banks of the lake, both difficult to make out in the darkness. The first was a woman with brown hair who was sitting just beside the waters. She spoke calmly enough and told Rosina that she had been hurt in a fall. She pointed to her foot, which was bleeding, but not so horribly that it could not be fixed quickly. Beside her, though, was a thing that the medic could not make out. At one moment it was a dim orb, the next it was a dark haze, but as it hovered beside the injured woman Rosina could not help but feel a sense of dread. Rosina tried to allay these pervasive thoughts as she reached into her medical bag and looked through it for some basic ointment and bandages to clean the wound. However, when she reached over to examine the woman’s food, she could not help but notice it was remarkably… fine. Although there was blood, there was no cut, wound, not even the mildest of scratches. Far from a fall, this woman had not suffered at all. There was no sign of a fracture, a sprain, or anything like that. Rosina was about to glance up to the woman and ask her what had truly happened when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw an outstretched arm spring up. It was the shade- too quick to give her even a moment to react. Nary a thought crossed her mind as an orb, this time it was surely an orb, shot forth from the thing’s hand and struck her across the head. She fell to the ground, limp, knocked out, as the three who had brought her there slowly surrounded her unconscious figure. The shadowy figure took charge, dragging the woman’s body towards the lake. As it did so, it rummaged through her pockets, taking every valuable and stuffing them into her mouth. The mali’ker woman pointed to the body. “Her heart.” The shadow nodded, then pushed down the body into the lake. It waited for a few long moments, until the air bubbles stopped rising to the surface. “Then I desire the body.” It spoke, its voice soft, yet devoid of passion. “No. We leave it at the gates,” ordered the dark elf. She spoke with authority, and the shade relented, though not without further comment. The payment for their role would be higher, and a ‘Mother’ would have to be spoken to. It was not as if Rosina could hear them. Drowned and beaten, the life within her had been extinguished minutes ago. The only small mercy she received that night was, as the mali’ker plunged a dagger into her chest, she was unable to feel her heart being torn from her. The deed was done, and her body was dragged back onto the horse and spirited away to the front gates of the city, to be left behind for her kin. Another small mercy given to her that night, it seemed.

    A New Threat

Serigne Py'lrie began to read through the missive, then once more. Her fingers pinched the missive firmly as she read, sighing heavily. Walking through the estate, the elderly elfess pinned within the family lounge, displaying it just as you walk through the doorway, so any Py'lrie member may see.

  14. I personally think they just shouldn't be global. It's a nice addition, but if it were more local based, players could be encouraged more to travel and see what other places offer and at what prices. Though full removal doesn't sound bad either, but players do look for more convenience. Not everyone grinds for Mina or materials, or would like to. I'm quite content with removal or not, doesn't stop my merchant rp
  15. “GO HOME, ALIDA!” The words echoed through the town and nearby silence of the woods, as a mother’s pleading cry for her child’s safety cuts through the air. Alida had picked, what could possibly have been, the worst of her mother’s missions to tail along to. Curiosity and defiance had struck the teen as her mother had left on yet another job. A simple hunt, Alida could hide in some bushes and her mother would never have known she was there. This was not to be... As Esmée and her hidden shadow approached the job, Esmée was the first to notice the job was not as it seemed. “Ain’t you an ugly rodent” the woman hissed as she drew her weapon. Watching from a distance, Alida would, upon hearing the comment, make herself as low and unobservable as possible. She may be defiant in following along, but she wasn’t stupid. If her mother was unprepared, so was she... Watching on, Alida would witness Esmée striding up to two figures... “What are you doing here, woman?” one of the figures would question as Esmée approached. “Aren’t you a disrespectful one?” the other would comment in sync, the silhouette of a multi-maw’d abomination visible in the moonlight. “You draw your blade as if you believe these lands are yours” the abomination continued, dropping its prior kill. If one were to privy to both Esmée and Alida’s heads, a simultaneous thought of ‘this was not the job’ would run through their heads... As mist began to seep out of the armor of the abomination, Esmée would steel herself, responding with a bold statement of “Doin’ what I know best” as she continued to monitor the scene, “Nothin’ more to do in this age than see ‘bit of thrill, aye? Say, the hell are you folks, even? Abnormal lookin’...” “You see answers with your blade drawn” comes a new voice, a creature hovering in the air. “You often find your solution in bloodshed, mortalwoman?” Alida watched on with horror, suddenly noticing the floating creature as it circled the scene she watched, like a shark smelling blood in the air. Esmée, similarly taken by surprise, would glance at the new figure while watching the others with flitting eyes. The beast that had so far been silent lumbered itself forwards, a crooked blade in its hand. “Long since my last taste, quickly now brother. Let's consume this one with haste” would come its words in a foul tone, evil almost palpable from sound alone. As if on cue, Esmée’s right hand would begin to release from the clenched state it had been in, the attronach limb releasing a mist of blue. “Ain’t s’ppose I been one for chit chat either. Let’s see what oozes out of ya...” she quips, stepping around the floating figure to advance on one of the grounded creatures! What happened next would be a blur to all those involved... Esmée begins to attack one of the grounded figures as a glow begins to assault the air as several of the abominations begin to ready attacks of the void. Torrents of flame, cracks in the earth, steel on skin... All of this happened over the next few seconds as mortal and beast clashed. After these mere seconds, Alida was met with the hand of a blind beast grabbing her, the cry of “GO HOME, ALIDA!” ringing in her ears... “Alida… Alida” A concerned voice chimed... Alida’s eyes would focus back in, the flashback of the scene earlier in the evening fading for now. “Oh- Sorry, Peter... What did vy say?” She would ask meekly, still trying to recover from the shock of the night as her mother’s lifeless body rested in the very church she was sheltering in now. “What happened?” Flemius (aka Peter) repeated to Alida, his cousin suddenly appearing in the night asking for help to retrieve her mother’s body. “I followed mameji out for her work. I-I just wanted to see what she did, but she would never let me... I followed her to fight some weaker monsters, but when she found them, they were HUGE monsters!” Alida began to stutter, stretching her arms as wide as she could to show the sheer scale of the monsters she’d seen. “They were floating ‘round, an-and doin’ magic- making things explode all over! Mameji fought them, but they were so big and throwin’ fire all over… One of them, the blind one, had a blindfold and everythin’, even grabbed me!” The young teen would continue, a shudder coming over her as she recalled the events again. “The m-monster picked me up, and mameji was just layin’ there.. She wasn’t fightin’ or movin’ anymore… I-I was tryin’ to get away and managed to beat the monster’s hand off me- I ran back here for help...” As the tale was recounted, Dariam would rush into the church, word of the situation reaching him. Taking a moment to breath and look around, he’d walk over to Alida and wrap her in an embrace. “I’m glad you’re okay! What happened?” As Alida began to tell the tale again, breaking out into tears upon realizing the last of her family were the two men beside her, another person entered the church. Flemius would watch Gustaf enter, giving Alida an affectionate pat on the head before walking over to meet him. Having an idea of what Gustaf may be looking to discuss, Flemius pulls him aside to have the conversation, saving Alida the stress of hearing more. The two exchange a few hushed words, and Gustaf passes something to Flemius before departing. Flemius would leave the church a little while later, after helping Dariam comfort Alida a little, inspecting the will that had been handed to him. Reading it, he steels himself for the preparations to come for Esmée’s funeral. The last words from Esmée that Alida could recall sent a shiver down Flemius’ spine as he thought of them. “I’ll hunt you all.. From the dead- if you touch her.” Allowing himself a small smile, as he considered how fitting these last words were for Esmée, he also couldn’t help but believe every single one of them. As the funeral soon arrives, the will and its wishes are directed to each listed and what they’ll soon retrieve. The final words of Esmée Rubens forever echos, lost in the breeze where the mighty woman took her last fall. “I’ll hunt you all, from the dead...” Thank you to @HobbitForHirefor writing the narrative above for this pk post!
