"Half=breed" refers to any combination of inter-racial blood. Not just strictly 1/2 and 1/2. If you were 1/2 elf, 1/3 dwarf, and 1/6 human, you still have the curse equally on all sides.

You still keep the elf, and human curse, it doesn't matter how little elven blood you have.

Prevents actual MC death, you just get "blindness" and "slowness" for a bit of time which soon wears off.
