  1. Balcescu County Dragomir Mandruleanu surveys his troops proudly as he rides alongside them, bedecked in simple rural aristocrat garb. His troops were all in uniform, proudly bearing the crest of Balcescu on their shoulders. Over the past few months they had been rigorously trained, and disciplined. The first part had been easy, every recruit to a man veterans of numerous Imperial Army battles in the past. But the second part came much harder. These men were broken, shattered from the horror at Kwarhy Pass. They had lived like animals, day to day just trying to survive. But Count Mandruleanu saw the strength in them all. A soldier broken down to his core can be built back up to something special. By showing compassion and offering a second chance, the Count gained himself a new coterie. And now marching with him to the Capital are a thousand elite infantry. They proudly wear their swords on their hips, with bucklers strapped on backs. They march to the cadence of a drum, expertly matching one another's stride. Making good progress, they come upon the capital soon enough. *Most of the troops form a camp of neatly lined tents outside the city, with Dragomir's top officers following him in. Attending their retinue is several county stewards on a wagon, with big bags tied up. As soon as they enter the city, they unfurl the rope, opening the top. Revealed inside is the glimmer of County Gold, fresh from the mint. They begin to toss out the coins as Dragomir rides to Sejm. They shout out his newest proclamation. The Count intends to run for Justicar, to ensure both nobility and people of the Empire get the fair treatment of Law. The gold is a gesture to the citizens of the capital, for their hard work. [-10k Gold] At home the County Army is largely able to stand back down. They had quickly neutered the bandits power within their land. Once more they could return to the tradition of safety and prosperity. This was shown most in the massive expansion of industry in both city and country. Manufactories were rising everywhere, offering hundreds of jobs. This has led to the beginning of migrations to the cities and town centers. The quiet Country continues it's rise, as the army re-garrisons the land. - Income; 227,102 Gold, 12 Iron, 12 Stone, 8 Gunpowder MOD Actions *10k Gold is donated to the Imperial Capital citizens as Dragomir makes his way to Sejm, announcing his run for Justicar. With him are 500 of the former bandits and deserters, turned Elite Light Shock Infantry. They are their as a show of the County's generosity, but also it's ability to turn even the lowest man into a fine soldier. These men are fresh from the campaign to slaughter bandits in Balcescu, having proven their mettle and earning elite status. 20k Gold is dolled out to the County Regular Army, as reward for swift persecution of the bandits plaguing the land. The men are allowed feats and leave with their pay, in hopes to further raise morale. Agent Olchensky continues the hunt for dragon purveyor in Black and Legal Imperial market. He carries a note authorizing the spending of 150,000 gold to do such. As before the Agent is covertly tailed by 100 Elite County Irregulars, to ensure no foul business plays from potential sellers. Dragomir offers to fund a star fort for the Vaseric Patriarch, as a continued gesture of good faith. He hopes in return the Patriarch will regard him amiably, and continue to consider him for any new Vaserium. It has the added bonus of further protecting the heart of the religion itself! The County sends word to the Imperial Capital they would like one of it's finest Engineers for their Arcanum. In return the County would give a generous donation to whichever guild provides them. The Engineer sent would get a monthly stipend as well of course. Financial Actions 12 Manufactories -81k, 12 Stone 4 Quarries -27k
  2. Balcescu County General Grigor Burgoyn inspects his men as he rides down the lines. Days ago he and his officer cadre had been enjoying the luxuries of the Capital. But no longer, Count Dragomir having dispatched him orders on the fastest courier available. After the shattering of the Imperial Army more and more deserters have migrated west. Balcescu is one of the most prosperous eastern states, and in the Imperial Core to boot. So it was intolerable when word is spread of pillage and rapine within the County. The people of Balcescu were not one to take lightly to strangers pillaging their land. They prided themselves on the safety of the realm, regardless of what community you come from. *It is in that spirit that in every city and town a notice is posted. Any deserter that wishes to restore his honor and gain amnesty must take up arms in the County Army. Any who take the deal for now will be kept safely under guard in warehouses and camps until the danger of bandits has passed. From there they shall be trained, and paid as regular soldiers. **This offer of pardon will not however delay military operations. Even as the amnesty is being proclaimed, the County Militia is amassing. Men from all over Balcescu head to their barns, store houses, and closets. The time had come to dust off their armor, and sharpen their pike. Across the County small Bands of soldiers amass in their mustering points. Under the stern dual command of General Grigor, and General Iulien Mandruleanu, they were as well led as can be. The hunt will begin for the bandits. Teams of the Unique County Irregulars will range ahead of the companies, locating and skirmishing bandit groups. Their goal being to slow down or drive them into the soldiers. Across the county this pattern of relentless hunting will begin, the entire army mobilized against them. He indicates he is willing to do much for the Church in return for access to Vaserium. -25k Gold Balcescu's Agent Tibus Olchensky is given a very special task. It was assured a fresh demand for Dragons will soon arrive. He is ordered to sniff out any contracts regarding the purchase of Dragons. He is given permission to act as he sees fit, and use a county bank statement guaranteeing 150,000 worth of Gold for the purchase of Dragons or even Dragon. The Count trust his agent to make the best call, to get the most Dragons, or even 1 in a worst case. 100 County Irregulars quietly tail him out of sight, to ensure he comes to no harm or foul business deals. The Bastards of Balcesu mercenary band are given a very warm welcome home. Feast are thrown in their honor, and whatever compensation the County can spare for these men's valor. 3. APPLICATION Nation Type: County Nation "Flag": Though the County has no official flag, they typically use the eastern depiction of a wyvern for state functions and seals/minting. Nation Name: Balcescu County Nation Culture: Though close to the Core of the Empire, Balcescu County has a relatively diverse array of peoples. The Mandruleanu Counts have always been lax in terms of immigration. As a result the melting pot of a county is relatively tolerant to most. Since they sit so close to the border, there's even a thriving community of Trazimiri Imperials in most cities. One thing they all share in common is the love of their land. Mostly fertile fields, the people dot the land in small hamlets and towns primarily. One can walk though the roads safe, being greeted at the porch by any home they pass. It has become custom for people living on the roads to leave small boxes of supplies out. Travelers are free to help themselves, leaving trinkets from their journeys as payment. So though the County may boast no single culture, it is instead a representation of when cultures collide. In Cities entire quarters have become destinations for whole culture groups. A Dzinky community of merchants could be living next door to Trazimiri refugees, all sharing the same streets. However in the country is decidedly more Imperial, being so close to the Capital. The simple rural class however is not immune to the outsiders in any certainty. As the decades went on, they too began to inter marry and mix with others. Though diverse, the County is a firm bastion of Imperial Influence. Their large population, Vaeseric beliefs, and proximity to the Capital have made them an ideal land. Taking pride in this, the Balcescuans have an intense devotion to their land and identity. They are decidedly cold to outsiders, seeing themselves above most others. This won't stop them from offering food and shelter, just not in the warm manor reserved for neighbors. And if those outsiders decide to stay in this paradise, and earn their keep one day, they will be welcomed in as a neighbor too. Nation History: The County of Balcescu is one of a slow but steady march forward. In ancient days these lands were used by nomads descending from the mountains to graze their herds. The lush lands, and lack of rugger terrain led to more and more using the land. As time progressed it was a hot bed of new age settlements, particularly along the river to the north. More and more this land was home to humans abandoning the ways of migration. By the time the Empire had formed, Balcescu was a thriving hub of feudalism. They were scorned as a lazy and weak people, sticking to their fields. But from an inside perspective, they had all they needed. There was no need for blood shed and expansion, in their land it was a paradise itself. This however did not bode well for the burgeoning Empire. Their armies vastly outmatched the Balcescu militias. So when they arrived at the border, the people of the land simply bowed to the new rule. Avoiding violence, they were sworn into the Empire on amiable terms. Ever since the people have resumed their enjoyment of peace and prosperity. Though many sons recently have been thrown into the Trazimir war, the County as a whole remains unscathed besides in population. House Mandruleanu is compose of Staunch Imperialist who were granted nobility dating back to the surrender to the Empire. Using the fact they joined the Empire willingly, the relatively minor noble house has embedded itself in the County wholeheartedly. The People of the County are proud Vaeserics, and practice Magitech to it's fullest extent. Scholars here eagerly travel to the nearby Capital. There they learn their trade, and bring the wonders back home. Balcescu cities are numerous, well populated, and augmented with this wonderful arcano-tech. Even in the deepest parts of the country Magic is studied and performed. Religion: Vaeseric Special Characters: Dragomir Mandruleanu 5/8/10 Married to Loredana (8/5) Sons; Iulien Mandruleanu 8/4/7 Cristofor Mandruleanu 2/6/3 Dragos Mandruleanu 8/7/3 Natalia Mandruleanu 8/3 Count Dragomir Mandruleanu has enjoyed the bounty of Balcescu for neigh on forty three years. Though many of his ancestors and cousins pursued Magitech, he forsook this tradition early on. Leaving most of the administering of the County to his stewards and sons, Dragomir instead pursued a life of political career. Using his County's proximity and influence on the Capital, he has graced the halls of the Sejm for decades now. A fiery orator, he is a staunch Imperialist, always quick to bring up his County's close past with the Empire. Though not invested in Magitech, he is also a die hard supporter of it's use, and exploration into other magical fields. In recent years he has put down the pen for the sword more and more. Ever since the great betrayal, life near Trazim has been far more perilous. Surány Csanád 2/12/7 A stylized depiction of Surany, commissioned by none other than himself. Surány Csanád is the head architect of Balcescu's Magitech development and application. A renown mage and developer, he frequently travels to the Imperial Capital to learn and trade knowledge with the Guild. A enlightened thinker, philosopher, and designer. Some (himself) may call him a genius at his craft. He is an eccentric old man, with many mysteries and knowledge of magical lore. Though he thinks so highly of himself, outwardly he is an arrogant prick. His personality is like salt rubbing a wound, none can bear him for long. But his power and intellect keep his post as the County's head Magician. Constansa Cojoc 2/3 [Withered arm] Little is known of this young lady, besides here fierce devotion to magical research. Something of a mystery to most, the Mandruleanu's keep her on a small pension. To any who meet her she seems an energetic and lively youth. Always found galloping around, on her latest study. 4. Nation Type: Nomadic Nation Name: Achelagora Are you in the Elraic Empire? No Nation Culture: Achelagorans are a people tended to hospitality and warmth. Any who find their way to an Achelagoran ship or festival will be welcomed with open arms. They believe that all humans no matter nation or magic deserve to be treated equally. Though they believe all to be equal, men can certainly distinguish themselves through feats of renown and honor. It is a well known fact every Captain is King on his ship. Honor itself is a prickly matter for any Achelagoran. Though they sometimes may be perceived as sea vagrants, they in reality up hold a tight code of moral laws. The worship of the Moon and light is taken very seriously. All manner of dark arts and the magic it entails is strictly shunned. Where they are open and forgiving to all, those turned to darkness are given no quarter. Ethnically the Achelagorans are from a variety of former kingdoms originating from the Empire. However over a thousand years of travel in the known world, that has changed dramatically. Across the world people have always been allured to this way of life. To brave the seas for fortune, completely your own man. Or to help in the process of healing and education, a staple of the fleet wherever it travels. Whatever the case, the modern Achelagoran fleet is made up of people from almost all nationalities, though the generations vary. The Achelagorans are quick to take in newcomers and convert them to see the Light, and learn their way of life. Nation History: Not much of a 'Nation' the people of Achelagora a thousand years ago were formed. Slaves, serfs, merchants, the scum of the society of States surrounding the new Elraic Empire. This was the make up of the very first Achelagorans. It was clear to them this new Empire was like none other, and was on the path of pure conquest. Not content to sit around and wait to be subjugated, dozens of peoples joined together from several nations. There and then they made the Pact, and started a new life. They agreed no one man or family should rule them all as an Empire. No one power should govern them all with force. Time and time again they had seen the oppression and greed of Empire and Kingdom swipe away lives as if they meant nothing. And so the Achelagorans vowed to do the opposite. To bring light, heal, and educate. Not oppress, and take in darkness. With little options to flee the growing Empire, they took the only real route left to them. To flee by water, and escape the deaths of their nations to the Elraic armies. A rag tag fleet of Fishing Vessels, Merchant Craft, War Ships, and anything that could float, entered the ocean for the first time. As the days became years, then decades, the people evolved and formed. Gradually the old nations are forgotten, and only the people, Achelagorans, remembered. They watched as the Elraic Empire grew to monstrous sizes, but they were also free from it's grip. Eventually they would return, and make it a profitable area for their mercantile operations. Over the following hundreds of years the Achelagoran fleet has adapted and melded into what it is today. Most never leave their ships for more than a few days. Some have never even stepped foot on land. The Achelagorans travel the known world, trading, healing, and educating. They are well known world wide, for their fair deals, free healing from mages, and numerous other good things. In a world of Ruler and Ruled, the Achelagorans are an enigma. One of people who all believe themselves to be equal. Simply for being born human, not from divine or noble right. They have no ruler, no true government. On every ship a Captain resides on the good will and contracts of his men, helping ensure the fleet and people as a whole prosper. Special Characters 2/2 Quartermaster Yonah Erlich - Perhaps one of the most important elected positions within the Achelagoran fleet. He is responsible for provisioning the entire Fleet, as well as ensuring trade routes and goods are optimal. Where his fellow Admirals scorn him for his lack of military experience, It's clear Yonah is essential in the mundane day to day running of the Fleet. He and his officers work day and night at work. Yonah himself is a short, squat, toad of a man. Rumored to be dropped on his head multiple times, he looks dwarfish and down right ugly. He however reminds you dropping on head head only damaged the exterior. For his mind was a nefarious piece of work, always crunching numbers. Yonah though ugly and detestable, holds the respect of most of the fleet. 3 Admiral Meira Reinharz Primary Magic: LUNAR Unique Point of Interest; "Freedom" A fortress ship unparalleled in production, as far as anyone knows. The ship though only slightly bigger than the biggest warships around, is particularly well designed. It is made to withstand magical and physical attacks, with a reinforced bottom to ward off strikes from below. On it's bow are several elevated stages, for mages, archers, or small artillery. On the deck itself large teams of troops or archers can fight, alongside more artillery pieces. This ship is also the floating church to all Achelagorans. It is here religious ceremony is held, councils meet, and all other major decisions take place. This ship is the apex of an Achelagoran dream. A ship free to roam the oceans, to support and defend it's people, and to withstand the attacks from every side. What makes the ship so special is it's superb design, ability to resist magic to an extent, and the almost mythical legends about it's production. The ship has been alive as long as the Achelagroans have been a people. It has changed beyond recognition from it's first launch, but is the beating heart of the nomad fleet. Woe to any who cross it's path in anger!

  11. New California Republic Ambiance ‘Handsome’ Hank Williams leaned back in his chair, appraising the council before him. The past few years had been a frantic struggle for safety and supplies. But for once they had finally got some breathing room. Even now Colonel Arbot was leading the 8th back into the eastern blocks. More importantly was the first official NCR meeting taking place within the Ranger compound. Arrayed around Hank is the chief representative of every branch. Tabitha Hersch sat with perfect posture, her NCR government crest proudly displayed. With more and more Mud City residents being taken in, her job had expanded. She now administered to all liberation of wasters in unclaimed zones, but also the citizens at home. Truly NCR law and order was slowly being established by this iron willed women. Next to her was Abigail Gullone, heading the Crimson Caravan Company interest. Many had cursed her during the march east, for justifiable reasons. She and her guards had maintained a tight grip on supplies. Only Gordon Smith, the 8ths quartermaster, was even allowed near the brahmin and their packs. But if many hated her than, the tides quickly changed when they settled. Now the Caravans streaming in yearly were essential. She maintained the network, ensuring fresh supplies and troops were brought in every year. This paired with her large amount of personal caps led to power in the NCR economy of Mud City. Others like Brock Davidson, Kayla Williams, and Lou filled other seats. Lou was the most recent addition to the council, and a surprising one. The shock being that he was a Ghoul, and Ranger. But with the increasing population, Tabitha rightly felt the Ghouls should be represented. Next to him was the mysterious and vastly rich Lester Rosencranz. He was a envoy of Mr. House himself, representing New Vegas’s interest. Few knew why he came, but none complained. He made no nuisance, and helped finance the entire expedition. Formation of the 1st NCR Army Battalion, comprising members from the civilized population. With everyone arrived, Hank stands up and calls for quiet. Lighting a cigar, he casually begins to speak. “I think we all know why we’re here” Hank states, contently puffing away. “President Kimball himself made sure this council would take place. My Rangers assure we are now safe enough to proceed.” Hank surveys them all, measuring them eye to eye. “We are no longer a simple outpost, we have outgrown that. Instead with the powers invested me by the Federal government, we are establishing the NCR’s first ever ‘Eastern Colony’. All land we hold will now be formally recognized as a NCR property, and therefore subject to it’s laws.” He pauses, ashing his cigar. “Gathered here today will be the provincial government. We have been pre selected, for a six year term.” “Thank you, Hank.” Tabitha’s voice rings out. She stands as well, resting her hands on the table. “As Governor I will ensure the NCR law and order will ring true. We must all work together to ensure the liberation of this city and it’s people.” She sits back down, content to let a simple but blunt statement set her tone. 12. New California Republic Rangers Ambiance ‘Handsome’ Hank appraised his ‘rifle’ skeptically. Their industry as it was had only just been put online. In the meantime he and his Rangers were forced to deal with these scrap weapons. Still, a Ranger wasn’t reliant on just his rifle. They would make do, and just be more careful. Around Hank was members of the 8th Battalion. They are led by the infamous Colonel Arbot. Him and his men had been put through hell all across the NCR. And usually came out grinning, victory under their belt. If he trusted anyone, it was them. And their current task was a little daunting. For today they would head outside of their compound, deeper into Mud City. Also coming with them is Tabith Hersch, NCR’s civilian representative. She wasn’t too afraid, with nearly fifty Rangers her protection. She was needed as a liaison to any civilians they find. *They will head out at first down the highway. Hank will lead the team of ten recon soldiers and Jerimiah Fink himself. They will try to sneak, and stick to concealment whenever possible. Their mission is to assess the highway in this block, and clear it of hostiles if need be. If their truly is enemies, the Recon team will surround them, before opening fire. While the main elements of the 8th head up as reinforcement. Once the highway is clear, the Recon team will be left to guard the highway. From there Hank, Arbot, and Tabitha head into the block proper. **Here is where their actions become far more overt. The Battalion will parade down the streets, confronting any bandit or rad animal threat they meet. Teams routinely check buildings, and once secured, man the roofs. Any wastelanders found will be met by Tabitha Hersh, a fellow civilian. She will try to convince them to join the NCR, preaching liberation and democrat rights. [Charisma 3, Intelligence 1, Luck 1] It is hoped the sight of almost forty Rangers will also inspire an air of safety to any wastelander met. At first the two parties had been very cold towards one another. There was little trust, and very little understanding. But over the last few months their cold manners had diminished quite a bit. For one they all had a mutual goal; researching better blueprints of armor for their Factions. Working together had proven to be very successful, and soon their cooperation was essential. The second good factor was both parties were christian. While the NCR tolerated all religion, many of these Ranchers were from former christian ranchers. After a hard days work, both parties would often pray together. 14. New California Republic Rangers Ambiance ‘Handsome’ Hank Williams rolled his rolled cigarette in his mouth, unlit. He had saved it for this day, the eventual arrival to their destination. The road had been hard, too hard. He had lost many friends, but not his wife, thank god. Kayla stood before him, idly mending her socks. She was a short and attractive women, though none would ever call her beautiful. Hank himself was from handsome, but the two searched deeper. Their shocked state right now was probably from the lack of action. The past years hiking all the way from California were brutal. They could almost not even comprehend the safety of the rudimentary shack they lived in. Hank lights his cigarette with an “Oh well” look on his face. Standing up, he pats Kayla’s hand affectionately. Tanking a few drags, he than opens his door into the harsh day. Standing outside was his guard, Jerimiah Fink, resolutely guarding the door. He was an ambitious one, but also capable. Waiting outside by Jeremiah was the corps 2nd in command, Brock Davidson. The giant of a man was similarly smoking, in celebration. Arms outstretched, he exclaims. “Well H, we finally made it, paradise.” The two chuckle grimly, puffing away. In an unspoken agreement they begin to walk the camp. “We got a lucky break, Brock. We shouldn’t be relieved with so many dead on the trail” Hank says soberly. This only warrants another grim chuckle from Davidson. “Don’t be such a hard ass Hank, we may as well enjoy being alive. Soon enough we’ll be back on patrol shooting bandits.” The two continue on their walk to the headquarters, with Fink trailing behind with a blank face. Soon enough orders would roll out again. Elsewhere Tabitha Hersch shares a table with Lester Rosencranz, and Abigail Gullone. The three were all the primary representatives of their factions. While the Rangers got to work, they were busy planning far ahead. The NCR Republican, Vegas Spokesman, and Caravan Master sipped the last of the Sunset Sarsaparilla in comfort. They were already drafting new research projects, NCR law, and treaties with their neighbors. Handsome Hank didn’t even bother with their ilk, he kept to ensuring they didn’t all die. 15. Application Faction Name: New California Republic; 1st Ranger Eastern Expedition Corp [NCR Rangers] Civilization Type: ADVANCED Starting Points: 1 stack of population [5] T3 Gunpowder [2 + 1 faction bonus] 10 B [2] 5k Bonus Caps [1] Faction Backstory: The NCR and it’s Rangers are infamous groups of the west. The Republic has vast libraries and archives of it’s own glory. However far less is known about the 1st Eastern Expedition Corp, and the Rangers that comprise it. Their story is an interesting one, and well known to those of the Mojave desert. For these Rangers were all veterans of the vicious wars with Ceaser’s Legions. Banded together under their Colonel ‘Handsome’ Hank, the 8th Ranger Battalion is the founder of the faction. They played key rolls in the battle of hoover dam, and the famous ambush at Boulder City. Hank and his Rangers soon gained recognition from NCR brass in Vegas, and eventually, the Capital. With a lull in the fighting, the entire Battalion is pulled from the front. A few other Battalions that fought side by side with the 8th were similarly pulled out. It became apparent why Handsome Hank and his coterie were selected. To their slight distaste it was not for RnR to celebrate their stunning victories. Instead the very top of NCR command wanted Hank to form a expedition to the East. The race with Ceaser’s Legion to secure trade and land was growing every year. They wanted Hank and the 8th to do the impossible. Travel the irradiated waste of the west, scale dangerous and massive mountain ranges, and see what was on the other side. Few expected to ever see them alive again, but the men of the 8th took it in stride. The very best of the NCR would lead the push for new frontiers. In a way they were truly becoming Rangers of the entire west, not just the Republic.... The trip was arduous, and extremely deadly. Of his 500 personnel, barely 200 made it to Mud City. At first it had been fine, but upon reaching the mountains, death stalked the land. Night-stalkers picked off their numbers nightly. Death claws would appear from their lairs, killing dozens. Few like to talk about the journey, and instead focus on the present. They arrive in a residential area, right off the highway..... Characters Character 1: ‘Handsome’ Hank Williams Rumored to be a descendant of the legendary county singer, he is completely ignorant of this fact. Him and his friends ironically joke about it, not knowing the truth. Hank Williams from an early age was reared on the brutal life of a wasteland rancher. He and his family tended to a small but sturdy flock of Brahmin, having to fight off bandits yearly. In this simple pattern of rural life he ages into his teen years. It is around than he longs to do more than raise and eat cattle. His favorite moments were in those of danger, fighting off bandits. Wanting to stop them for good, he signs up with the NCR against his parents wishes. Two years later and he has elevated to town commander through his charisma and skill. Eventually he even kills the Bandit leader that has plagued his family for years. This is just the start, as he is soon selected for Ranger service. A full decade of hardened service flings him to fronts across the entire Republic. Neve rlosing his charm, Hank is an extremely charismatic and smooth talker. His troops worship him, and would follow him into the pits of a Death Claw nest. Hank stands relatively short at 5’ 10, with a gaunt face. His shot hair paired with an elaborately luxurious mustache gives off the air of an old time gunslinger. Character 2; Kayla Williams Hank’s wife, and long time companion. The two had spent most of their lives together. First in their hometown, than when they signed up to the NCR together. And though Kayla had remained a trooper while Hank was a Ranger, the two never grew apart. Now with command of an entire retinue, he ensured his wife was with him on the journey east. Finally in the same posting, the two are happy as they travel. Kayla is a bubbly and random soul, prone to bouts of emotion. She is short, with brown hair and eyes. Character 3; Brock Davidson A giant of a man, standing at 6’ 2”, and the second in command of the Expedition. He and Hank have served as Rangers since their youth, fighting side by side in countless battles. The two made an excellent pair, being so opposite. Where Hank was smooth and calculated, Brock was aggressive and unfiltered. He currently leads the power armor and heavy weapon teams, alongside the whole expedition. Brock though seemingly simple is a very intelligent men. He spend most nights reading or debating with various camp members. Other Characters with RP to come in RP post; Tabitha Hersch, Civilian NCR oversight of 1st Expedition. Gordon Smith, Rangers quartermaster. Arbot Jenkins, current Colonel of the infamous 8th Ranger Batallion. Jeremiah Fink, a new recruit to the Rangers, formerly of the Tops gang in Vegas. Lester Rosencranz, representative from New Vegas strip sent to prospect Mud City for wealth investment. Abigail Gullone, Head of the Crimson Caravan merchants with Expedition.

  17. Glorious City-State of Tian 2090, Year of the White Metal Dog Ambiance Vice Chairman Yao Yongzheng marched through the sweltering hallways of Tian’s upper barracks. He was a tall man, usually wearing a simple ceremonial PLA officers suit. The only ornament he allowed himself was the CMC V.P Pin, born proudly on his lapel. And one of the Central Party of course. With close cropped black hair, and brown eyes, he had a plain face millions of others bore. But it was the intensity in his eyes and towering stature that showed his power. For Chairman Yao was not one to trifle with. It was why now as he walked, Marines lined the hall in rigid attention while sweating profusely. Their bunks were all perfectly made, a trunk in the front containing their belongings. Surveying each man as he passed, his heart swelled with pride. For these men were all hand picked by him. There stood Colonel Qin Pengfei. A squat and muscular young man. He led the Space Marines, and internal security. They were the very best the Chairman could get for this voyage. Back on earth before 2090, events leading up to launch had been certain in their hearts. China was a massive power, with trade and military bases spanning a good portion of the east. Many autocratic states, African nations, and others were quite friendly with the Republic. For they were willing to loan, and finance nations the democratic west may shun. Among hundreds of other glorious reasons, China was certainly a unrivaled jewel on Earth. And within the splendid central party, Yao Yongzheng was a respected cog. A appropriately communist and rigid figure, he followed closely to the creed of Xi Jinping. Part of the Central Military Commission , he oversaw many different Armies and new projects. When word of the ability to travel to local sectors was announced, Yao quickly began lobbying. When China received her Gandhi device, he made sure he was in the headlines, claiming he would take China to the galaxy. With his credentials and personal influence, the Party anointed him Vice Chairman. He would lead the Colony as a military expedition, to settle and fortify a lucrative Capitol. Tian would officially be a City-State currently under his martial law as they settled. But coming with him was a slightly resented members of the NPCSC. The civilian political oversight sent to represent the Chinese Central Committee from Earth. They would take care of Tian’s civilian elements, and ensure Chairman Yao did not overstep his boundaries. They also worked to maintain and dictate common Chinese policy and law from back on Earth. Chairman Xue Meihui headed this notorious people’s political committee. She ensured she had her hand in every business and decision. Both Yao and Xue had access to camera and facial identification set up on the colony just like any street in Beijing. China was intent on keeping as strict and tight of control as it did on earth. Here within the colony everything down to the homes were strictly utilitarian. While others marveled at their worlds and systems, the bitter confines of theirs taunted him. The system is renamed Dìyù xìtǒng, and appropriate so. For the reason the majority of colonist suffered under stifling heat was all around them. The planet capitol named Tian was covered in Volcanoes, lava flow, unending rocky plains and plateaus. The planet’s surface was majestic in it’s massive splendor, an unending ocean of fire and pitted rock. The City-State of Tian, and the planet’s namesake, is staked on/under the middle of a massive plateau. All around it tectonic plates had shattered entire ridges of volcanoes and large mountains. The plateau itself was one of the safest scouted spots on the world. And still it was a hazardous and bleak life it seemed to the colonist. For the city was small, with no supplies, and unending heat and thirst. But fear not! The Party tells their citizens. 19. Character Application Name: Daniel Andreas Hernandez Age: 39 Gender: M Description: His friends on the force would describe him as ‘Their Diabo Hermoso’. Daniel was tall standing at almost six feet, and had a lean but wiry frame. He was attractive by anyone’s standards, with short but slightly curled jet black hair. His eyes matched his hair, earning the Diablo in his nickname. They were a dark brown, almost like black chunks of coal for pupils. He has a brown Spanish complexion, with strong but perhaps bushy eyebrows. His lashes were long however, and elegant. His teeth though well maintained were stained yellow from all the cigarettes and hookahs he smokes while off duty. Daniel’s neck is relatively long, leading into a broad chest and long arms. His hands are big, and roughly callused from years of holding reins. His long legs are well muscled and tan. Overall Daniel was quite the handsome police officer. When off duty his style was usually a simple T-Shirt bought off some bodega, and faded jeans. Daniel is not one for flamboyance, or fashion. He lives in a small and decrepit loft in Brooklyn, having to commute to work every day. Most weekends he can be found with his buddies on the force in Central Park. There they meet other Spanish officers and family, for picnics and games. He kept a simple life, with hard work values. Perhaps because of this and his good looks, he was quite the catch for any Women who meets him. They can perhaps sense a deeper sadness within his aesthetic exterior. Backstory: Though now perhaps an ordinary American and Police Officer, Daniel has a dark and tragic past. He is an El Salvadorian from the La Plaz province. His family was dirt poor, compromising of his grandfather, his parents, two brothers, and four sisters. They eked out an existence as tenants to a small time sustenance and horse farm. The tumultuous and volatile nature of the Country ensured they never knew true peace. At just the age of three, Daniel was witness to the hanging of his Grandfather by banditos seeking shelter from the government. Though too young to remember, he holds that memory with him to this day. Even at a tender age, criminals were hurting those he loved. He grew into his early years in a sad pattern quite like most poor Salvadorian families of the time. Poverty, the constant threat of violence, extortion, and a godless lack of mercy. At just the age of twelve, a life changing event occurred for Daniel. At the time politically, the El Salvador government was facing external pressure from it’s neighbors, and within. Rebel Groups were cropping up across the land, some rumored to be funded by the U.S and it’s agencies. Every month clashes were reported, as rebel and government forces met in blood and violence. It was on one of these raids that a Rebel group hit Daniel’s parents farm. Seeking the horses and fresh recruits, they viciously ripped Daniel and one of his other brothers, Ferdinand, into service. For the next three years though they never saw combat, they were used to grease the cogs of the Rebel group. Forced to tend their steeds, prep their food, wash their clothes, shine their bullets, and all the other menial task. Sometimes they were exposed to the brutal violence and pointless death that was the Civil War. When he became fifteen, Daniel made his move to escape this repetitive cycle of death. Fearing he was old enough to be pressed into actual combat, he had been plotting for a while. Late at night after a victory, the Rebels were mostly passed out drunk in celebration. Daniel sneaked over to his favorite horse, Tamga, who his father technically owned. The two had both been forced to serve their cruel masters. Taking his reins, Daniel quickly made his way out of the camp. Upon reaching his home though, he was greeted with pure disaster. The farm was gone, the animals stolen or slaughtered. Next to the old oak tree, several un marked graves resided. Having no idea if his entire family was buried, or in fact, who was buried there, Daniel stayed for days on end. He searched for clues, traces of survivor family. Nothing. For days he lamented at the loss of everything he knew, how those Rebels had robbed him of almost everything. Staying in the burnt remnants of the barn, he collapsed in a complete break down. Hours later, he was still on the floor staring at the last of the barn’s wall. It was there he noticed a small and hastily carved arrow. It pointed North, and had one simple letter next to it, K. The initial of his mother, and perhaps a sign of help. Gathering everything he could scavenge, Daniel braces himself for a massive journey. He begins to make his way up north on his old and starving horse. For weeks he navigates the brutal landscape of the Salvadorian Civil war, until he finally leaves the country. Suffering many hardships, he had only just made it to out of the country. Finding no clues of his family, he resolutely continues north. For years he keeps pushing north at all cost. Stopping to try and find work, to fund the next leg of the journey. It is in this fashion that he made it all the way to Northern Mexico. A shell of his youth, and dirty to boot, Daniel was in a bad way. As a refugee he had little hope of just walking into the U.S. And many of the Mexicans here looked on the Salvadorian refugees with distaste. Finally however a glimmer of hope was given to Daniel. Taking pity on his story, a group of small time Cartel members took him in. They worked him hard for a few weeks on principle, but than allowed him into one of their smuggling programs. Not meant for humans, Daniel was carried into the States in a cramped submarine, stuffed with cocaine. Almost twenty, Daniel had entered the United States in a spectacular fashion. Finding work in Texas, he was taken on as a rancher on a horse farm. For months Daniel was lost in the simple pleasure of farming like he did as a kid. He even met a girl his age on the ranch, from an American-Mexican family. Not one to waste time, the two married in the stupid rush of young love. For years they lived and worked together on the ranch, as Daniel earned his citizenship and got a green card from the marriage. However the two had perhaps gone too quickly into love. For their marriage began to fall apart, after the initial honeymoon years. And always the question of his family was in the back of Daniels head. Finally, he had had enough of his wives bitter resentment. Leaving with just the clothes on his back, a beat up ford, and a couple thousand dollars. For the next year he spent his life on the road, always searching every Salvadorian community he found for signs of his family. It was in this manner that he eventually reached NYC at the age of thirty. His spirit and hope were all but crushed, and he was bitter at the robbery of his life. Resolute to at least instill some purpose to his life, he worked hard to join the NYPD. Using his skill with animals, and prior experience, he managed to join the NYPD Mounted Division. For years now his life was a hallow but good blur. He and his horse, Pequeño, made a good team. They patrolled around Manhattan/Central Park, doing their part to keep the City safe. It is in this dull and sad pattern Daniels life continues up to the present. With unanswered questions, a robbed youth, and little to no joy.
