  1. I was told, that the red zone was the battle zone, with the left hand bridge being out of bounds for anyone. Correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what I was hearing for well over an hour.
  2. Okay, so I was in TeamSpeak (Dwarven Side) for a good while before the battle actually occurred and constantly kept hearing "Do not go to the left hand bridge, it is out of the battle zone and we aren't allowed to use it!" And relative similar statements. Now... During the battle, on several occasions I saw Oren's soldiers venturing off to this bridge and actually cross is at one point to flank our soldiers. "Fair enough, it grants a tactical advantage!" I hear you say! Well, what I would like clarification on, is this. Are we allowed, during a battle to venture from the battlezone to outflank our enemy? If not, why did Oren do it? If so, why were we told not to? Also, if we are not allowed to, could this be clarified upon before the next battle to prevent people from breaking this rule? ((To all the people who will point fingers and go "Stop whining, loser!" I ask you not to post here, as it both agitates me and is not constructive towards this post. Do not do it, or I will ask staff to give you a warning.))
  3. Note to self, remind all oposition of Oren to get the Dwarf MPM or a Kha' tail... Couldn't freaking tell who was who.

Or bunny ears! Yes! Get dem ears!

  4. I've seen a few people spew out 'RP fighting allows for powergaming'... Do you not understand, that PVP in essence is powergaming also? Let me put it into a scenario for you: -Orc and a Halfling get into a fight. -Orc wields giant battle axe -Halfling wields shovel -Orc stands seven foot tall -Halfling stands four feet tall (Did I get the height right?) -Halfling has far more pvp experience and decimates the Orc. In RolePlay, this wouldn't happen and is blatantly against common sense. Yet, we want this as a default? Come on... Tell you what, replace the Halfling with a little girl. Make sense that she could kill an Orc? Didn't think so. So, as an overall conclusion. Please don't spew the garbage which is 'RP allows for PowerGaming'. As PVP is just as bad, and possibly worse in that aspect. EDIT: If you want to add a 'scare' into fighting again, why not make it a default that if YOU initiate the fight and die in RolePlay, you have to /kill yourself. There is no option of keeping your items if you initiate the fight. This ethic would stop people simply running into fights with relatively no material loss and then pulling the 'I don't want to lose my gear!' card when they get murdered.
  5. I'd like to see the media team take the youtube channel to a more regularly updated point. For example, instead of the admin team etc.. Posting videos on other channels or whatever about updates and things relative to it, have the updates done by the media team on LoTC's official youtube channel. This would give us clear cut information on a front which is both interesting and nice to watch. Simply reading a facebook status is alright for small news, but for things like plugins or polls, why not do a youtube video for us to watch and be involved with? Even the monthly updates could be done over youtube with live video of Danny and a star guest talking or something similar. I honestly think youtube is your guys one way ticket to more recruits onto LoTC. The videos do not have to be long winded and tirelessly edited, nor released every day. (Weekly? Bi-weekly?) they simply have to be fun to watch and with an upbeat spirit. Sort of like a lets play but with you guys simply talking to the community and bringing up relevant information. ~Thunder
  6. Baelian stands amongst the other Dwarves, listening to the king's words as a grin adorns his face. He steps forwards, mug of ale in hand and speaks sharply and loud "Ah'll venture int'e these 'ere caves wi' ye! Le's gu slay wa'ever be killin' our kin!" Baelian takes a long, hard swig from his mug of ale and stands awaiting the king's word. He then turns his head to Naffog, giving a hearty chuckle as he raises his mug of ale to him "T'e stone fluur 'as nae done any'fin t'e ye laddie.. Save yer blade fer wa'ever be lurkin' down thur."
  7. The Dwarven hold has an obstacle course running throughout its entrance.. Are we trying to lose the bear bellies or something? o-o

  8. Thankyou for the update Danny. Let the sops be morbid, I know you guys'll do a great job on what's left! Be patient ladies, you'll love Anthos when you see it!!
  9. Went to the dentist, now I can't feel half my face -_- Oh well, I get the rest of the day off! :D

      Hate going to the dentist!

  10. It may not appeal to some, but Aegis to me was the begining of my RolePlaying experience here. I had some fantastic roleplay out in the wilds hunting down animals and creating small camp fires with friends where we'd sing and drink ale. Calling the original map of LoTC, where it all began "Horse S***" is a little harsh. Yes, the architecture on some things looked like it had come out of a horse's rear end.. But it wasn't the builds that mattered, it was the atmosphere they brought.
  11. I'll just leave this here, as having a singular person who can do it is a little excessive possibly.. I don't know but having it on the way there might be a nice thing. Summary: Okay, so basically this is a walk back through Aegis, as a celebration of the very first map and the welcoming of our new home. Concepts: Basically, when we sail to the new continent which we shall be calling our home for a good long time hopefully we enter a patch of fog, no lore is really needed for this other than we all fall asleep/pass out. This fog latches onto someone’s mind, taking a time/location from it and projecting it to everyone else (Aegis). Basically a shared dream/projection. The Gm’s set up a portal on each boat, which takes us through to Aegis (Multiverse would be used to simultaneously host both worlds) and there you have it… Everyone in this world is free to chat as it is a shared dream almost. This event would last for only around thirty minutes to an hour to which everyone will be removed from that world and sent back to the boats where they re-awaken on the decks. They retain their memories of what happened within the dream but come back the exact same as before they went in. Other Information: Not a lot of other real information needed, as it’s a simply go in, have fun and come back out again event. PVP would be turned off during this, as I doubt anyone would be fighting and also to stop people randomly pvp’ing each other out of nowhere. (I know it doesn’t happen much, but it’ll just allow the event to run smoother without modreq’s flying everywhere.) Chests can and should be world edited out, to stop people running in and stealing items from Alras, Al’Khazar, Laurelin etc Adventure mode might also be useful, to prevent people going out and making a house/griefing. (Would also cut down time on much needed world guard.) Having several double chests at spawn, so people can take a few stacks of meat and wander off might be an awsome idea, otherwise we'd starve q.q Having a world barrier might also be a good idea, so people don't go running off for ten's of thousands of blocks and render new chunks, as if I'm not mistaken it can cause lag. JUST AN IDEA! DUN HATE ME!!! ;.;
  12. In my world save of Aegis I have rebuilt Alras to an extent, with only a few things which need rebuilding/removing still. I'd happily send it over if this was to be accepted.
  13. Baelian looks around. The breeze russling his beard as he stands atop a nearby mountain top in Dwarven territory. The world was not right, Baelian thought.. Something great has been lost to us. He sighed, sitting atop the mount as he watches the closing of another day dawn upon them in an array of reds and oranges piercing the sky.
  14. ((THE CUSTARD! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! And there we have it.. The greatest invention of our generation.. Disappeared into a portal. God damn it!))
  15. Baelian looks over the ballot paper, hovering the charcoal over each name in turn as he ponders over who to choose, finally letting it hover over Kjell's name for a moment Name: Baelian Frostbeard Place an X besides the name of the candidate you wish to vote for: - Omithiel Strongbrow - Thorin Grandaxe - Kjell Stormhammer X
  16. Baelian leans back against the wall, his beard blowing lightly in the wind as he watches the withered king with a look of concern and slight alarm, he looks to the young Dwarf next to him, quirking an eyebrow and recieving the exact same responce from the Dwarf by his side. The two chuckle quietly and briefly, looking back to the king "Well laddie, t'is 'ere should be an' interes'in few months a'ead ov us."
  17. Okay, Haelphon wins. I shall be getting the one which he prescribed as it looks to be a thoroughly badass computer. Thanks man! ~Thunder
  18. Kal'Azgoth sounds better, as the treasure is not in diamonds nor gold. It be the city itself.
  19. Okay ladies and gentlefolk. I have found myself recently in the market for a new PC, as my Apple Mac cannot run certain games/programmes which I wish to use. Therefore, I am asking you the community to give me a hand with picking out a new computer, as I am not massively familiar with components and the deeper technical specifications behind computers. Things I would like from said computer: - 8GB RAM - Fast CPU - Fairly good graphics (Does not have to be top notch) - Able to run games such as: Total war, team fortress 2 etc... etc... with ease and relatively no lag The budget is £800, however I could stretch to £850 if the laptop is perfect or close to it. P.S. I'm more inclined towards laptops :) Thanks guys! ~Thunder
  20. What is your favourite animal of all time?
  21. From what I see there are three options: End the war IC'ly: This would have to involve some serious co-operation on both sides OOC'ly and a stretch of current RP to suit both sides. Possibly through my option, which would not only go for the Dwarves but the Orcs aswell. Along with Oren's knights or through another solution -shrug- End the war OOC'ly: This would make even less sense than an IC option and would simply end it. It would be more effective however and allow us to resume RolePlay imediately in peace times. Continue the war: This would enduce a massive amount of arguing from the community involved. No doubt there, however I believe this could be rectified by simply disbanding a massive amount of rules which are currently in place. Both sides can use what the heck on earth they want to attack/defend. For example: The entire ladder thing was Bulls***, mainly because when attacking a wall I use a grapple hook attached to a rope which I then use to haul up the ladder. So slanted sides etc... etc... Would have no effect on this. I don't massively get how this would effect any ladders... A time period between raids? Lower this to a day. There is no need to wait in RP.. If you're losing that badly, make a pact with the oposing side and pay them of for a time of peace via materials etc... Stop bitching that you're getting owned and accept that you may have to submit or die. Leniancy cannot be given OOC'ly in terms of a short break between raids.
  22. My idea for solving this is fairly simple. Look at real life battles.. The death count that comes with them is unreal. Let a ceremony be held, before we move to the next island (preferably soon.) which is a large scale burial of our fallen kin in which King thorik declares no more war until we reach our new home. That there is to be a cease fire of sorts. Many people won't be having kids on this island, and Dwarven ranks may be lowering a fair amount through these battles, etc... etc... Have the Rex present, where him and the King declare a time of peace, until they reach their new home. A blood pact of both sides.
  23. Both sides have given leniency to each other in the past, however that no matter what affects the present. What matters now is that this war shows no benefit to either side.. What both races should be focussing on IC'ly is gathering resources and preparing themselves for the next leg of the journey. It is my belief that one of the sides should state to their people that should the oposing side attack, war will ensue and by no means are their people to attack the oposers. This will give IC reason for some peace and also resolve the issue of "Its not RP enough!" Stop whining. Even when the war ends to stop the whining more whining ensues due to whining ending. Its an endless loop of garbage that isn't needed. Focus on gathering materials for the trip, not mutelating each other in a pulp.
  24. I'm just not comprehending how opening up the centre to all out pvp would benefit the server. Sure, it allows people to run around having a little murder fest but overall it doesn't prove that we're the number 1 RP server out there.. It was also said that the centre would be the only "un-regioned" area of the new map.. How are the survivors who aren't affiliated with a city supposed to gather basic materials to survive? We would be killed before we could collect anything, causing rage quits because those smaller men and women of the community can't get started by gathering materials to barter with or use to craft. The kings and queens etc... Can't hand out perms of their island to everyone.. There are probably over 100 Oren'ers with humans as their main. Nevermind people will human alts. Same goes for any race really.. The leaders simply wouldn't have enough time or I doubt even patience to add everyone to their cuboids. These things are simply not a good combo to have on a map.. To answer your question aswell: I am trying to get my statement across as best I can, without being detrimental or petty towards the work thats been done. I do not believe their is a winning side in this, only statements.
  25. Last time I checked, you couldn't remember thirty minutes before your death. -Shrug-
