  1. ((Though ruthless villain guilds have the uncanny ability to make me queasy, I find this one of the more selfless and lore-entrenched entities that will be able to supply a lot of interesting encounters for RP. I am pleased to see the extra effort that is put in background of House Flay and will be eager to see where you'll all take this.))
  2. Trying to join two High Elves in blessed matriomony and a million thunderstrikes drown out the ceremony. Well played, GMs

  3. Finally an event worthy of my High Elven character *sips wine*
  4. ((Good luck! I'm really hoping your organization will succeed. Like I've mentioned before, there's only so many High Elves, so it'll be tough to find members. I'll be looking forward to your visit to Haelun'or. I sent you a bunch of names over PM, btw. Were any of them satisfactory?))
  5. You would readily raise blades against a fellow pure Mali'aheral because you disagree on how to honor our noble kin? A waste of resources, energy and pure blood, Octavius. You should know better.
  6. ((well, you are free to think the name should be changed because of similarity issues, but I'm thinking it's a bit too hasty to worry too much over a possible lawsuit. It'll be hard to sue someone over a name alone, and I personally doubt the company will bother. If they do, however, one can always change it right away upon request and thank them for the free publicity.))
  7. ((no problem at all, I always enjoy offering assistance in all things Elven. Mostly with the language, of course. For the Elven Name, I shall be making a couple of choices and let you pick the one you like best. If you decide to show up at Haelun'or for that said meeting, my most reliable playing times are between 8 and 12 GMT. Know that there aren't a lot of High Elves to go around, being just a single subrace. You will have to get creative in your recruitment. If I come up with any good ideas for this, I will let you know.))
  8. karin'ayla, llir silir'arhil'ehya, It has been a while since I have seen a cause as just and necessary as this one. The idea that one humanoid could claim possession of another is so deeply frightening, and even more so it is that the practice is not only commonplace, but getting worse. The area around our blessed home continue to be one of the most infested in all of Asulon, no small part of this due to the accursed Mori'quessir. I would rally to your cause if I thought myself a proper liberator or investigator, but I am not. My own attempts at the rescue of these slaves have been shockingly unsuccessful. My attempted rescue of one has let in the near-mortal wounding of multiple. There are, however, things that I can hope to offer and discuss with you that will help towards our mutual desire. If this interests you at all, please see fit to find me within the Silver City of Haelun'or, home of the Mali'aheral. At the gate, ask for Ellir'siol and mention your involvement with the Freedom Fighters. You will be directed to the right people. maehr'sae hiylun'ehya, Ellir'siol
  9. Ellir was sitting in her tower, head dropped in her arms, when one of her Elves cautiously shuffles into the room. He informs her that a new guild, the Blood Elves, are calling Mali'aheral to their fold. She releases a heavy sigh as she is faced with the concepts of 'redemption' and 'disgrace', but within her eyes ignites a spark that had been missing for a while. She feels the scar below her neck as she whistles sharply, calling for her trusted white carrier bird to fly from the College Rooftops to settle itself upon her shoulder. And so it has come to pass that from the smoldering ashes of shameful cataclysm arises a breed of Elf charred and blackened. Who are you, Blood Elf, and why is it that I have not seen you before? Why is it you believe that upon the winds of change ride the scent of sulfur and simmering metal, of vengeance and crossed blades. Why were you not there to protect the Silver City and its proud citizens, and on what grounds do you think you can avenge her now? What is your vision, your dream for the most blessed race, and by what divine inspiration do you hope to realize it? In times this dark I admire your desire for greatness. You are to be commended for finding the strength to carry on, to fight so quickly after this crippling blow. Your will and proclamations of purity reverberate. Perhaps I do desire to see you succeed Questions spread more quickly than fire in a forest. I am burdened, and only can I hope that you will alleviate me of the weight of not knowing, for so sparsely do I believe you can relinquish my fears. - The Lonely friend ((About the name issue, it is my guess that High Elves with this amount of patriotism would find themselves using an appropriate Elven Title. If they were sufficiently militant, also, they'd punish non-HE for using that title to address them, however. It would then make sense they'd be referred to by outsiders as something like 'Blood Elves'. And to be frank, I don't see much of a problem with the WoW similarities, considering the existence of the Dark Brotherhood, Mori and Kharajyr. A name change is by no means necessary. If you're serious about creating lore, OP, you can contact me if you need Elven words created.))
  10. It's been a while... I suppose I better get started on converting the wiki page to the new format.
  11. try porn mode... it can actually be used for lots of other stuff too (yeah right).
  12. Vallei'acal would be correct, actually.
  13. First name and last name should be seperate. So: 'Averir Akalir' and 'Lirrame Akalir' Secondly, modifier comes after noun, so the mother's name will be: 'Yuln'mayilu Akalir' I hope this helps :)
  14. 'akalir' would mean merchant.
  15. How did I not manage to respond to this yet? I'm afraid they are both nouns, so they can't really be used together. Perhaps lliran'hileionn could work, which means 'friendship born of health'.
  16. From what language is that?
  17. Cloud Temple no-PvP? Everything went better than expected!

No, I think it's for the best There was too much violence, leading to some OOC brackets and threatening the new player experience

Yeah I saw people wait in the tunnels once and attack you when you exited them, made me sad :(

  18. THE BEST ONE!

    I jest. I play Salumir.

  19. Hey there. I'm afraid there is no 'easy' way to learn it except... learning it. You won't HAVE to, however, as Elves talk common (english). It's just fun... and improves your character's immersion. Also good for dealing with High Elves as for other Elven languages... in the server this is the only accepted one. There's also drow, but only mori are supposed to speak that.
  20. Major update pushed! Added a large selection of new nouns, verbs, and general words to enrich the language! Added the decreed rules on capitalization, with a bit of revision from myself, into the grammar section. Elven now sees distinction between four groups of verbs. The -er type is still very dominant in occurrence, but also existent are the -ar, -h and irregular group. The middle 2 groups have different optative inflections, as explained in the grammar section. Rules on these verb groups may be further defined in the future Added a new prefix for 'or' and a new preposition for 'because'. Capitalized lightly on the ability to insult others in Elven. For this I slightly altered comments on various words and added some new ones. Yeah, insults right? Lots of people wanted swear words. Swear words already existed, though, if you knew where to look. But, for general satisfaction (and because I feel like it), I'm going to outline them now: The fun way to insult someone in Elven is to give them a gold nugget. The words curse and gold are identical in the tongue (Acaln). Thus, by handing someone a gold nugget, you are openly declaring you wish curses, horror and general nastiness upon them because in Elven, the two acts are described in the same way. True gentlemen insult others this way. For not-so-gentlemanly elves, there's also words. They are Ikrir, Elor, Tair and Chikr. One can also use Ullan ito nae'leh. Most of these already existed, some are new. Most of them are mild, one is not. You shall have to find out what they mean by yourself (try here), and read the comment (disclaimer?) I put next to each one while you're at it.
  21. I don't know what to tell you, Laurir. I have no idea what kind of word you mean by 'thoughts' or 'emotions'. But here are some literal translations you can use: For thought, i'm thinking of pushing iyat And for sensation/emotion, try using salumii salumonn, which means 'from feeling'.
  22. This has been updated again! The most popular Elven Name is 'Chirr'. I am not surprised ;)
  23. *Rivell sits quietly, unmoving, on his boat, absently tracing the dents in what seems like a slab of stone. He mutters quietly to himself* How ironic, then, that this is the only piece of Elven writing that I could salvage from a smoldering world. *Slowly he picks out a piece of charcoal and begins to scribble on parchment, reciting to himself* (( llum: griefing, sorrowful llumn: sorrow vallum: crying, weeping vallumn: tear llumer: to grief, to mourn llumir: mourner vallumer: to cry, to weep vallumir: weeper, crier llum'sae: Burial, wake llum'saer: To bury, to remember (of the dead) ))
