  1. With a shake of his head, Hadrien ceases his daydreaming, quickly standing up and giving Uthor a short bow. "Ah, Your Grace! Salutations! We are still waiting on the good Hochmeister and Lord Vivyaen." He sits back down as quickly as he rose.
  2. ((Continuing on from our private messages on the forum, the privy council is now meeting with a public forum RP. Please note that this takes place in a sealed chamber in the Imperial palace. You do not have any knowledge of the proceedings in this forum RP unless you're in the room at the present time. If you metagame, you will be punished. Do not post on this thread if you're not a member of the Privy Council or Father Bradislav.)) As the flames of the council room's braziers fluttered wantonly, the Lord Privy Seal Hadrien de Sarkozy looks over the documents he has prepared with an ever-scrutinizing eye, giving a slight nod of affirmation to himself every time he ensures a particular missive is accounted for and prepared for the upcoming meeting. The room is eerily silent despite the presence of the three other lords. Directly to his right sat the Marquis of Westerland, Thomas Chivay, in all his apparent grandeur. Sarkozy and Chivay had once been youthful - and Hadrien liked to think that his best days were spent with the Order. From a boy of seventeen to a man of nine and thirty, he had spent a great portion of his life around Ser Thomas, and together they had passed the peak of their days. Upon closer inspection, one would find emerging grey flecks in Chivay's lustrous mane, and Sarkozy's neatly-trimmed beard had become akin to salt-and-pepper. Across the table sat the Great Easterner, Lord High Sheriff Kais Ishikawa himself. Unlike the other men, Ishikawa was not hindered by age. He did not grow weary as they did, and that quality was something many a man would have been envious of. Two seats down, the Grand Chamberlain, Throdo Denims-Therving sat. Sarkozy had heard tales of his daughter's antics but had never quite had the fortune or perhaps misfortune to encounter him. Finally, Hadrien began to speak in a low, diplomatic tone, his fingers steepled. "My lords of the privy council, we are awaiting the Lord Steward, the Grand Knight and the King of Hanseti. Then it seems we may begin." He shrugs quizzically, the opulent silver chain hefted by his shoulders forged of interlinking, embossed roses clinking as he moves. The lords had greeted each other affably enough, but now they awaited the other half of their procession. The privy council was meeting and just four members would not do.

House Name: House de Sarkozy House Sigil or Crest: Gules, an eagle argent armed, crowned and beaked or, langued argent House Standing (Imperial, Royal, Great, Noble, Unlanded, or Exiled): Noble House Lands: County of Norfolk Barony of Aldersberg Banner Houses or Greater Liege House: House Ashford House Family Members Living: Family tree - updated regularly: http://www.familyecho.com/?p=START&c=7tykj53dhk&f=195683236872646813 Hadrien de Sarkozy - Iorwen [House Patriarch] Anne de Sarkozy - Skyyobee [Daughter of Hadrien by his third wife] Octavien de Sarkozy - crazyguy1916 [brother of Hadrien] Arjen de Sarkozy - danroth9 [Nephew of Hadrien] Johanna de Sarkozy - vacant Liam de Sarkozy - Cosmik [Nephew of Hadrien] Bernard de Sarkozy - Le_Bishop [Nephew of Hadrien] House Family Members Important: Nicolas Sarkozy, founder Hadrien de Sarkozy, patriarch Maurice de Sarkozy, 16th Viceroy of Leuvaarden House History: Until relatively recently, the dynasty of de Sarkozy has been of unremarkable standing and has not accomplished anything of note. It is thought that the family’s progenitor, Nicolas Sarkozy, a burgher of middling wealth, was a Teutonic resident of Konigsberg, Oren’s eastern capital after King Enor Sheffield abdicated in favour of the Hochmeister himself. Upon the colonization of Asulon, the Sarkozys followed Valdemar van Riebeeck to these proposed ‘promised lands’ and would come to help establish the trading port of Leuvaarden on the continent of Gaekrin. Anton de Sarkozy, the current lord’s paternal grandfather, was able to secure a petty place in society with a largely political marriage to Cailin MacCray, the aunt of the former Baron MacCray and great-aunt of Maric Varodir. The now deceased Count Lorethos Basileus’ grandfather Velinthos betrothed his sister Christina to a knight in his service, Ser Francis Canten. Their daughter married Dominic de Sarkozy, and produced three sons - Maurice, Hadrien and Octavien. Hadrien de Sarkozy was sent away from home at the age of seventeen in the beginning of an attempt for Leuvaarden to secure a greater foothold in the Holy Oren Empire. After coming into contact with Velwyn Ashford, Seneschal of the Order of the White Rose, he was given employment as a political advisor, theorist and lawyer. He would grow to gain the favour of many important people within Oren, while earning the enmity of many others as a lapdog. Later Thomas Chivay would create a position within the Order - that of the Conseiller - specifically for Hadrien so he could advise him in all affairs of state. It took many years for Hadrien to curry favour at court until eventually he requested the status of landed nobility from his master. In reward for his loyal service over the years, the Imperial Seal was granted and House de Sarkozy was officially formed. It would take him some time, but with powerful connections he would import the rest of his kin from Leuvaarden - a crumbling region as is. Due to his maternal grandmother, the lord of House de Sarkozy also lays claim to the now defunct titles of House Basileus in his official styles, referring to himself as ‘Archon of House Basileus and heir to the dynasty of the Crescent Moon of the Rhenyar.’ This is attributed to the fact no other trueborn heir of the extinct house remains.
  6. Hadrien de Sarkozy smirks upon hearing the news, quickly downing his goblet of red wine with a swig. Scratching his greying beard, he gestures to Thomas across the room. "It so seems our ***** princess is dealt with, then? I suspect that we'll be encountering problems from her ilk in the future."
  7. ((Seriously though, props to you for actually RPing this instead of saying 'monks fixed it' within the hour of your injury.))

  10. Please replace the Lord Privy Seal title currently filled by Count Adam Green with Count Hadrien de Sarkozy.
  11. Hadrien de Sarkozy, sitting in his office, reads the news of his new appointment. An smirk overcomes him as he becomes slowly privy to his level of appointment. The count steeples his fingers and begins to speak, gesturing for his scribe to begin writing. "I thank his Imperial Majesty duly for this most gracious appointment to his privy council and I pray I may serve him and the Empire exemplarily and without error. I am indeed sincerely grateful and in debt to his Imperial Majesty for recognizing my merits with this wise appointment."
  12. A dour but small procession of armored soldiers donning red and white emblazoned mail surcoats, gripping handaxes in one hand and brightly-painted kite shields in the other marches through the Imperial war camp. It would appear to the viewer of said procession that they are in effect nothing but another group of men-at-arms who have answered the call of Emperor - a call for war. A lovely call, one that the group's leader had been desirous of for many years now. The ivory Sarkozy eagle was being flown by these men, and at their helm on a sable courser rode the Lord Hadrien de Sarkozy, the Count of Norfolk and Baron of Aldersberg. An unimposing man lately possessing of a prominent black and grey beard clad in green plate and mail armor, he rode without a helm so he could be more easily identified among the soldiers. Breaking from the marching men and leaving them to the command of his nephew, Arjen, his steed slowly cantered towards the Emperor's tent. Upon arrival he removes his feet from the stirrup and dismounts the courser, a somewhat sour expression on his face. Rubbing his gloved hands together quite greedily, he mutters something to himself. "Deus vult indeed..." He enters the Emperor's war tent confidently, his green armor somewhat shining by the candlelight. Sarkozy takes a few steps forward to the procession of nobles already present. Falling to a knee quite eagerly, his head bowed before the Emperor, the Lord of Norfolk begins to speak. "Your Imperial Majesty. Myself and my most meager force of Norfolk is at your command."

  15. Bishop Gardiner senses a disturbance in the force. Quickly he downs his consecrated wine.
  16. 8/10 I remember you assassinating me that one time, and you're quite famous around the Empire and with some friends of mine.
  17. A duchy can just as easily comprise of two counties, the land amount should be irrelevant.
  18. I understand precisely how that works, however in the last post only the holders of the titles themselves were listed, their consorts being considered an otherwise unmentioned extension of themselves. Unless it's stated quite clearly that Elene is married to Uthor, it gives the impression that there are two different Silverblade duchies. When a woman marries a landed nobleman, she gets the consort (Not regnant!) version of his title and vice-versa.
  19. I can second what Gemmylou has said. Her statement is absolutely correct. You're trying to make it seem like you have more power than you actually have.
  20. I did not believe Elene (A duchess consort, not a duchess regnant) would have been listed as she does not hold the title in her own right but instead possesses it as Uthor's wife. Nonetheless, changes have evidently been made from the old thread. This is an RP post lol and most of Oren (Including the Emperor, I think) sees you as illegitimate on account of being devilspawn. Dark elves don't get to be human nobility.
  21. ((All of these houses have married women and men into other houses, which means the offspring of such unions are related to both houses. For example, Thomas Chivay's prospective offspring will be half Horen-Hightower. This does not mean House Chivay is instantly uplifted to a royal house, despite the fact such children will be related to the imperial family.))
  22. ((Most nobility is of royal blood...that doesn't make them all royal.))
