If you're struck by a powerful bolt or a lightning strike, then it would crisp pretty bad.

So it doesn't follow the principles of a normal lightning? Lightning is just electrons that wants to get from point A to point B the fastest way possible. It's called a faraday cage, it would not touch the inside of the armor, but try to look for better ways to reach the ground etc etc.

I'm pretty sure a bolt of lightning that would come from the sky would also burn what was under the armor.
