The Case for Albert de Falstaff’s Inheritance of Leuven in case of his inability to attend the inheritance hearing. It has come to the attention of the Estate at Guise that the legacy of the House de Falstaff, and specifically of the immediate family of Albert de Falstaff, has been called into question in its servitude to the Empire in recent years. In light of this, and of the fluid nature of House of Lords meeting-timings making it difficult to coordinate a proper time for the Estate at Guise to attend, the Estate submits the following legacy to be reviewed by the Right Honorable Imperial Grandees. Enclosed Firstly The living will of Armande de Falstaff, partially released to public viewing, opened 8th Tobias’ Bounty, 1789. The following will represents the intent of Armande de Falstaff to pass his estates and title unto his son Albert de Falstaff upon his passing or inability otherwise, thereby removing doubts of inheritance originally raised by the nature of his sons’ ages. Given his legal death, the will has been duly opened and activated. KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: I, Armande de Falstaff, Orenian citizen, of legal age, married to Isabel de Falstaff, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, and not acting under undue influence or intimidation, do hereby declare and proclaim this instrument to be my Will, and hereby revoke all my former Wills and Codicils; Of my twin sons, I designate Albert Arthur the primary inheritor of my territories, titles, and properties otherwise, by legal right of agnatic succession. To my wife, Isabel, I leave the freehold of Guise as a life estate, to be inherited in full by Albert Arthur upon her passing. To my son, Lysander, I leave my remaining fortunes, to pursue those dreams to which he has always been beholden. Enclosed Secondly The Collated Services of the Rt. Hon. Armande de Falstaff, Count of Leuven, father of Albert de Falstaff As the House of Lords has called into question the familial legacy of Albert de Falstaff, the Estate at Guise has seen fit to collect and publicize the information regarding his family’s long and storied service to the Empire. As a member of the Committee of Historians and Educators, from the year 1764 to 1769 As Circuit Court Justice, from the year 1766 to 1769 As Speaker of the House of Lords, for the 16th Session (1769) As Vice Chancellor, from the year 1769 to 1778 Forming a combined fourteen years of service to the greater Empire. Prior to 1762, Armande was primarily a citizen of New Reza, participating in the governance of the vassal therein. Enclosed Thirdly The Collated Services of Lady Isabel de Falstaff née Stafyr, mother of Albert de Falstaff As the House of Lords has called into question the familial legacy of Albert de Falstaff, the Estate at Guise has seen fit to collect and publicize the information regarding his family’s long and storied service to the Empire. As Envoy in the Department of Foreign Affairs, from the year 1762 to 1768 As Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, from the year 1768 to 1786 Forming a combined twenty-four years of service to the greater Empire. Prior to 1762, Isabel was primarily a citizen of New Reza, participating in the governance of the vassal therein. Enclosed Fourthly The Collated Services of Albert de Falstaff As the House of Lords has called into question the familial legacy of Albert de Falstaff, the Estate at Guise has seen fit to collect and publicize the information regarding his family’s long and storied service to the Empire. As a member of the Committee of Historians and Educators, from the year 1781 to Present As Circuit Court Justice, from the year 1787 to Present Forming a combined eight years of service to the Empire. Prior to 1787, Albert was primarily a citizen of Owynsburg, participating in the governance of the vassal therein. Enclosed Fifthly The Extended Services of the House de Falstaff in Recent History Let it be remembered by the Honorable Lords of the House that there are few families that can match the legacy of the House de Falstaff generationally. The lord Conrad de Falstaff, from whom all current members of the House are descended, and the family of his era, died almost entirely in the male line, save one babe and two old men. In the female line, half of the House was similarly sacrificed to the cause of the Holy Orenian Empire of the time. The loyalty of the family is entirely to the Empire, in one form or another; and there can be no doubt that, whilst it has fallen on hard times of late, this has not diminished its feelings of responsibility and loyalty to the nation it has served since the time of Baldwin the Black. That the House of Lords sees fit to question the legacy of Albert de Falstaff and his estate is baffling; Albert Arthur is twenty-four, and has served since the age of majority in one capacity or another for a vassal government or for the Empire proper. His mother served a third of her life in its Foreign Affairs Ministry; his father served nearly beginning from the moment he was recovered from the deep countryside. Substantial tenure in the greater Imperial government is the very definition of the Falstaff legacy; that the family cannot afford to host the lavish parties of the Crownland Houses in order to increase its visibility should play no part in whether its heir inherits the titles rightly afforded his family. Enclosed Sixthly The Continued Existence of Leuven as an Imperial Title Let it be remembered by the Honorable Lords of the House that, in the absence of Armande de Falstaff, the Estate at Guise saw fit to continue on as servants of the Imperial State in their capacity as the County of Leuven; and that, among all Haeseni peers (and let it be remembered that, at the time of the expulsion of Haense, Leuven did indeed qualify as a Haeseni peer), the County of Leuven under regency was the only one to stay loyal to the Imperial cause. Let it be further remembered that this decision continues to cripple the family; the fertile Leuvian plains having gone with the Haeseni upon their independence, and the House de Falstaff left only with the Guisard swamplands. Loyalty to the Empire over the gains of the House, both territorial and political, is most easily visible in this point; and, in continuing its service to the Empire in this political regard, one must also add this state of affairs to the legacy of Albert Arthur, as the primary caretaker of the title and of its territories in Armande’s absence. Your Faithful Servant, Albert de Falstaff, CCJ

41 THESES FOR THE DISSOLUTION OF THE VIROSI CHURCH

Albert de Falstaff reads through the Bonifascist manifesto on the Cathedral door. “Where’s Section 27?” he mutters, under his breath. -
The New Rhodesian and Afrikaner Colony on Cygni [NRACC] 2090 Simply put, Rhodesian anticipation of the event was far too great. Four million well to-do Rhodesians and Afrikaners clamored to climb aboard the first ship out; only 20,000 were selected. This, of course, meant that they had no building supplies to begin with, and therefore spent the first year hastily putting up construction yards, and completely ignoring the satellites and transmissions from Earth with the excuse “Low on resources. Currently executing contingency 3.14.” The second transmission back to Earth, however, is a map of the system. [27.500 Credits] The Earthlike planet in 61-Cygni, Transvaal, is colonized. 8 construction yards [16.000C] [11.500 Credits Saved] 2091 As the first Earth-year passes, pictures from 61-Cygni are sent back home to eagerly anticipating families across Britain and the Netherlands. Babbling creeks, grassy knolls, blue skies – the planet is nearly identical to Earth from the imagery. The scientific readings show more – the majority of the planet is essentially similar to Earth’s temperate zones in terms of habitability, with somewhat humid, though bearable, weather, fairly temperate climes, and wide varieties of activity, both in terms of local flora – which appears to be in an evolutionary explosion, though no fauna have been encountered – and geological. The two Sun-like stars keep the planet in a 20-hour day 2-hour night cycle, which, while not for everyone, is certainly picturesque. Then, a video comes over the feed. Happy White Afrikaner families, their children attending school in prim uniforms; vast fields beginning to be tilled for the first harvests beneath clean, smogless blue skies; the beginnings of a quaint townhouse-lined lane, each home with perfectly trimmed yards and hedges. Subtler, of course, is the fact that without fail, every single person shown in the message is pale-skinned and blonde or brunette. At its end, of course, is the message. "Mission successful. Fellow Rhodesians and Afrikaners now able to come to the new motherland.” [39.500 Credits] 2 Civilian Districts [4M, 8.000C] 2 Civilian Factories [4M, 8.000C] The exploration vessel, with the colony now firmly secured, sets out to survey the rest of the planet. [23.500 Credits Saved].

Name (colony): New Rhodesia Archetype (choose one): Private Venture Mother Nation: White South African diaspora in Britain and the Netherlands – explained below. Sponsoring Space Agency (you may choose one): ESA Colonial Leadership: Oligarchic Mission classification: Scientific Add. starting equipment: 10.000 extra population please. Background: In the year 2035, the once-unimaginable happened to the white diasporas of South Africa. After years of race-politics building tensions, of locking whites out of governance and jobs, the 88% black African majority voted to expel the entire white population of the country – to disastrous consequences to both. South Africa was left a destitute country, having expelled the richest and most well-educated tenth of their population, and the Afrikaner and Anglophone populations were left without their homes. It was a lose-lose situation, and a humanitarian crisis. South Africa would lose half its territories and become crippled within ten years; the Rhodesians would never truly recover. The displaced were offered homes in diasporas across Britain and the Netherlands, and by 2037 South Africa had become black-only with startling efficiency. Over time, the Afrikaners and Rhodesians built themselves a reputation – given their high rate of university attendance and wealth, the community was considered respectable and well to-do, an unfortunate byproduct of modern politicking rather than a strain on the economy. They started new businesses, created the Rhodesian and Afrikaner Society to remember their past, and built themselves up as local and world leaders. The Society, in 2090, had a membership of over five million - nearly the entirety of the expelled populace. With the UN’s approval of colonization, they finally saw a chance to create a new homeland, one untouchable by the weak-minded demagogues that had so cast them out. With hefty, hefty donations to the Erasmus Program, the Rhodesian and Afrikaner Society secured for themselves the Jan van Riebeeck, named after the founder of the first South African permanent colony, and prepared to begin the next phase in their history. Their destination is 61-Cygni.

VOTE WILLIAM HELVETS for a brighter today and a Member focused on real issues While our politicians focus on vague concepts, William is focused on the real problems. Now, in this time of great need, William Answers. The party elites say land is for the bugs and foxes. William says A FARM FOR EVERY FARMER. The Church’s sway over Our morals weakens with every year. William says LET US FOLLOW GOD’S WILL. The fear-mongers and naysayers would have Us believe the Empire is weakened with Haense’s expulsion. William says NO GREAT LOSS. William’s storied background is relatively confined to the Kaedreni countryside; where he, under the tutelage of a great many refined (albeit now-retired) statesmen and scholars was taught the art of governance, though he stood to inherit nothing himself. Indeed, the young man is self-made in that respect, with no funding allocated from his family’s coffers, instead going to his recently-fired prodigal older brother, Adrian. His policy stances are as follows; YES to further civil liberties for Humans and Elves. YES to centralization of government efforts. YES to reforms benefitting the Empire. NO to future relief efforts geared towards the expelled Haeseni. YES to expenditures benefitting the common man. Penned and paid for by the Owynsburg Conservatory Special Committee for the Campaign of William Helvets. Vote Today: [LINK]

VOTE WILLIAM HELVETS for a brighter tomorrow and a Member for the People William Linhardt Helvets has spent his entire childhood training to serve Our country. Now, in this time of great need, William Answers. The Haeseni agitators are no longer in Our midst. William says NO GREAT LOSS. The mismanagement of Our politics has led to rampant nepotism and stagnation. William says NO LONGER. The Diet has spent the better part of three decades passing laws to benefit Wonks and Cat-Men, and giving Our jobs to Non-Humans. William says HUMANITY FIRST. William’s storied background is relatively confined to the Kaedreni countryside; where he, under the tutelage of a great many refined (albeit now-retired) statesmen and scholars was taught the art of governance, though he stood to inherit nothing himself. William Helvets, a youthful, fervent supporter of the Josephites, cries out in alarm, "Why am I not on the ticket?!" whilst hunting rabbits in Kaedrin. He childishly bemoans his fate the entirety of the ride home, much to the dismay of his tired retainers. -

Potential Effects of Haeseni Independence on the Political Structures of Man in Brief As penned in the name of William Linhardt Helvets of the Committee of Educators and Historians by the scholars of the Owynsburg Conservatory Fellow countrymen, the removal of Hanseti-Ruska from the Imperial Apparatus has led to much confusion among the common folk, for it has been the better part of a century since that kingdom was incorporated into our fair nation. The Empire, many of my fellow historians and scholars otherwise would note, has only once been formed without the presence of Hanseti – the third, in the time of Prophets – and that indeed it has rarely continued to exist without Hanseti’s presence. With this in the forefront of one’s mind, it is certainly believable that this is a crisis of identity – are we still the Holy Orenian Empire without Haense? The answer, of course, is that we are. From a legal viewpoint, the primary difference lies in the circumstances under which Haense was released – while authority has skirted around the word for the sake of diplomacy, the Haeseni were expelled. Release, the word used so often in the common gossip of afternoon parlor meets, is incorrect in underlying meaning – for release implies that the standings of the parties involved were more equal than they were, or that Haense had been behaving properly whilst within the Empire. It had not; any active viewer of our governing systems will understand that the Haeseni were by and large as helpful as the rowdy Nordlings in furthering the goals of the Empire, and indeed that appeasements had to be made at every corner lest the next Haeseni monarch commit suicide in protest in its umpteenth at creating diplomatic scandal. The losses suffered by expelling the Haeseni were minimal; an arrogant and self-destructive parasite removed for the cost of eight good statesmen. The true loss in removing Haense is in short-term prestige; by expelling them, or, in official terms, releasing them, the Empire risks the appearance of weakness to the outside world. While we might know that the Haeseni provided no assistance to the Empire in good times, and was downright against it in bad, the greater continent does not; in this way, in different times, the Nordlings or some fiftieth-removed Horen cousins may convince themselves that now would be the time to strike. Luckily then, or perhaps by planning, the continent outside of our fair Empire is in a state of relative stagnation, and the sudden appearance of enough generationally-gifted military talents to invade is slim at best. What we face instead is the question of how best we can take advantage of our new status, with the primary destabilizing and decentralizing force removed. Ideally, the governing forces of the Empire will take this opportunity to approve as many reforms as possible. With the Imperial Apparatus now able to run smoothly for the first time in decades, and no subordinate kings to appease, noble prerogative can be reserved for those families that make contributions to the greater Empire rather than its vassals alone, the Diet can be remade in the dreamed images of our statesmen, and we can begin functioning and cooperative governance for the betterment of our nation once more. The most important takeaway from this brief, then, is thus; that the expulsion of Haense is No Great Loss.

its a race thing not a culture thing so they’d still go wacko sorry if you were any1 else at all i’d agree look @ the last time i played a snelf and you’ll find it isn’t my group “golden age” im sorry but i ain’t sure that ever existed, and this is also an extinction event of sorts you know i have nothing better to do with my life... Anyways, everyone seems to have the idea that this is a backwards attempt to revive the snelf playerbase/recruit players through the race. It’s actually an attempt to get the old lore overridden by something that’s actually unique and interesting.

THE DIRECTORATE Grimly, Varan naval officers began the varied startup sequences of their charges. Twinkling like stars above Serrano were the glimmering direction-lights of a hundred Varan ships – and sitting chief among them, the Re Cremisi‘s silent watch over the system as a sovereign does his vassals. The legality of the ancient ship was no longer of consequence to the Admiralty, and its existence an open secret among the Varan populace anyways; indeed, the massive beast had arrived above Serrano with the coming of the new year, bedecked in exotic symbolism and crests foreign to the commoners below. Within, torn banners, dim halls, and strange modifications made the ship unrecognizable from what it once was; without, all could tell what it was without a shadow of a doubt. As the amassed fleet positioned itself around it before final hyperlane crossing procedures, any with eyes could tell that this was the flagship of the Varan Combined Fleets. No, this was no ordinary ship, nor its commander an ordinary man – Michael Tirosen, once called The Hammer, now lacked the youthful vigor of his days in the Imperial Navy. Tirosen was old and tired, his once-handsome face marred by the scars of one too many duels. In his home on Bagnoli, his great-great-grandchildren played among the vast manors that had been awarded to him for services rendered; here in space, he was joined only by the hardened faces of Vara’s veteran core and the green appearances of its newly recruited. His people required one last duty of them, Salvatore insisted. To save Vara. Tirosen had fought for the future of the Empire, above Tatavara; and in that battle, half of his home’s commanders, ships, and warlords otherwise perished. Now, he realized, perhaps that had been for naught – the future he had fought for was destroyed by the one he had fought for, and while the Empire was busy destroying itself, its enemies slowly crept in the void above. Those thoughts were no more than thoughts, however – for he was not of the Nine Families, and such decisions were not his to make. To save the province, or perhaps to save themselves, they had opted to join the Republicans that surrounded them. Now, Tirosen was to take a province that did not have such foresight. Hapless victims of loyalty and honor, of trust and faith. As he gazed out from the bridge, he muttered something only discernible to himself – before he spoke out, simply, “Launch.” ACTIONS | [45.000C, 12NP, 12M] – 4 destroyers and 1 heavy cruiser begin construction on Serrano. [100.000C] – 8 destroyers are purchased. Exotic and Black Goods are shipped to Trade Zone 8. Food is bought and shipped from OWTC [12.000C+6.000C]. 56.000C total in storage.

Tricked ya Sup...? With the civil war’s onset, New Vara activates an emergency measure – from retirement they pull Michael Tirosen, the commander of Varan forces when they, along with their fellow warlords, descended on Tatavara under the would-be Emperor Akoni. A flag officer equivalent to a Vice Admiral and about to turn 130 at the time of the battle, Michael Tirosen celebrated his 200th birthday with his large, totally-not-Italian family just before being called back into service. [25.000C] In preparation for the coming battles, four shipyards are commissioned for construction, finally covering Serrano’s serviceable surface area in docks. [40.000C, 8B] 2 Armories [20.000C, 4B] 2 Cruisers [20.000C, 4M, 6NP] 10 Transports [2.000C, 2M, 2NP] 12 Destroyers are purchased [150.000C] Exotic Goods shipped to Trade Zone 8 [15 Exotic, 2 Black – 4 hired, 9 normal, 2 smugglers][Guarded by 5 CL, 3 DD][3.000C] Buying food from OWTC. [12.000C] Hiring freighters to ship food. [6.000C] 4B sold to Lord Elfering – he ships. 4 HI on 37i [20.000C, 4B] 50.000C just...evaporates? 24.000 in storage.

The Directorate Last Year [Only Mechanical Actions] This Year Dark winds, shadowed whispers. There are rumblings in Families’ dark underbelly – for what purpose, few know. As military production not only begins, but rapidly ramps up, New Vara becomes a hive of activity. From nothing three years ago, a fleet has appeared in the darkness above the smog-ridden planets of Vara – and in Serrano Yards, more are obviously on the way. [SHIPMENT] – 10 Exotic Goods to the Core on twelve ships, two of them Gina’s Favorites. They carry food from the North Rim on the way back, stopping by Vaka to offload four such units. This is protected by two cruisers and two destroyers, led by the Admiral Reso recruited the previous year. [SHIPMENT] – Twelve freighters are hired, and twelve food imported from Auraki Raa’s demesne. They are escorted by the remaining New Varan destroyer. [6.000 to Outer Rim Trade Co., 14.400 to Auraki Raa] [SHIPBUILDING] – A battlecruiser begins construction [55.000C, 6M, 3E, 6HP] [SHIPBUILDING] – Two more light cruisers enter construction [20.000C, 4M, 6NP] [BUILDING] – Five more Raw Industry on Santa Antonia [25.000C, 5B] [LOAN] – 40.000C is loaned from Lord Teniert. [PAYMENT] – 30.000C is written off the books. [SHIPBUILDING – KOHATU] – A Battlecruiser is purchased from Kohatu Driveyards [150.000C] [1.100C, 3F in storage.]

I was going to go with the mental deficiency thing, but unfortunately I believe that was something more core to CA races rather than open races. Originally, I was looking at this as a potential switch to CA race, but was convinced out of it – so removed the more hardcore mental section I had (In CA Race application, there’s a specific section on the mind). For the cultural bit, I didn’t want to infringe on Fenn stuff as it currently is without getting some input from them on this thread. I’ll update it in a day or two with the stuff I had made throughout its history/other people had made if nobody comes forward with things to put down specifically. Crazed snelf eventline was completely separate from the snelf movement at the time (i was there). Would include, but had a lot to do with the Ondnarch event line the dwarves ran, and from what I recall they didn’t super enjoy it when I went to them to talk about Ondnarch last time I wrote up snelf lore. I like the idea a lot, actually. I’ll try to add it as best I can.
