      Boomzerang

      Much like the P.I.R.A

  2. To be fair it's not really supposed to be in Stargush'Stroh, I was strong-armed into doing that to get it accepted. It should exist outside of it and I'd rather see the LT amend that.
  3. Yeah, but I don't see your point from here on. It's very easy to influence Stargush'Stroh. Hell, even previous iterations of Dark Shamans have. I've given more to "Orcish" Shamanism than I've written for the Dark Elves; which is two pieces of lore.
  4. This takes nothing from the Orcs if you actually bothered to read the submission.
  5. The Mortal Shadow is a shadow of the Mortal Realm, which is basically entirely the domain of Khruul. It's well within reason and that aspect of the lore is already accepted.
  6. Dark Elves are in dire straits as much as Orcs, but that's an irrelevant argument because this has nothing to do with the Magic. The Mali'ker are inherently tied to the Spirits through their origin lore, and this allows them access to their ancestors, and their ancestors only.
  7. This isn't for Orcs, and it prevents Mali'ker from learning the Orcish sub-types. It's more of a win-win if you take a step back and look at it. Orcs don't use other Magic because of their culture, not because it isn't available.
  8. Clarification of the Mortal Shadow Bûrgul’shon - Shadow Language Reference: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/156898-✓-the-mortal-shadow-lataumancy-addition/#comment-1484192 Credits: WarsongFarseer, Smawton & DivineJustice for insight It is the intent of this writing to clarify what capabilities those Shamans of the Mortal Shadow possess, how they react with and influence the world, and what their general limitations, capabilities and weaknesses are. First and foremost, I would like to disclose that the idea behind this addition to Lataumancy is to serve as a branch for Mali’ker that cuts them off from Orcish Ancestors, in order to allow for balance and in order to fit more closely with the culture set within. Below I will list the capabilities we intend for the Bûrgulaam, or Shadow Language in common, as well as the initial stages in becoming one of these Shamans: When a Dark Elf first enters the Shadow Realm, they are confronted by the reflection of their Soul that exists there. It mimics them in their activities on the Mortal Realm, and serves as a placeholder until the day that they perish. If a prospective Shaman wishes to make continuous contact with the Shadow Realm, they must defeat the reflection of their Soul in combat, and absorb it into their being. This is achieved by simply entering the realm, in which case the Shaman is gifted with a boon from Luara herself, a “blade” of perpetual light that allows them to cut at shadow; something that is otherwise impossible. When the Shadow is defeated, it is absorbed by the Shaman, causing them to take on the appearance of a Shadow when in the realm. The Grey Stone (A Shaman with the Grey Stone fashioned into a dagger) When the first Shaman entered the Mortal Shadow, the Immortal Spirits, Luara and Khruul made direct contact with her. They instructed her on the power they could bestow upon her, of which would come with a price. She would be allowed the knowledge to create instruments of Spiritual energy, but would be unable to practice with other Spirits, essentially cutting her off from the rest of Shamanism; for Spirits are hungering entities, those that wish only for their own reverence and not those of their ilk. And so did the woman learn of the Grey Stone, and item that is a blend of Moonstone and Obsidian, an item that reached into the domains of both Spirits, and allows their Lesser Spirits to work with the Shamans through it. It is necessary for all major acts of Shamanism performed by one of the Bûrgulaam, and they will find themselves quite dampened in ability without it. The Grey Stone can be of any size, but this does not affect the amount of energy that can be used by the item. Instead, it is purely for aesthetic value, as it can be fashioned and reinforced into a blade, or the gemstone in a staff, a necklace, et cetera. Life’s Reflection This is an ability that errs on the side of darkness, and requires a good understanding of Khruul’s domain in order to accomplish. It is generally a slow acting ritual that is used with the intent to warp or damage land and/or structures. It requires a constant shadow cast from an object, one with which the Shaman may focus their Grey Stone. It is here that they can call upon the Spirits and their own mana in order to influence the shadow and contort it into the shape that they desire. If they wish to destroy an object, they may simply cast a line through it. With this accomplished, Khruul’s energies will begin to shape the item that is connected to its shadow in order to bend and warp it to match the shadow it has cast. This feat can be undone by using light to remove the shadow that is cast by the object. It will otherwise take place at a slow progression, and will take half an IRL hour of overseeing to be achieved. T1 - May influence a small one block radius T2 - May influence a 5 block radius T3 - May influence a 10 block radius T4 - May influence a 15 block radius T5 - May influence a 25 block radius Shadow Entity As aforementioned, when a Shaman of the Bûrgulaam defeats their Soul’s shadow, it is absorbed by them and inherently ties them to the realm. However, when they are in the Mortal Realm, they may draw from this energy as a means of influencing the world, and may even materialise it beside them in order to aid them in combat. It is mostly a useless entity, for it is comprised of Shadow and can have no influence on the world as it is. However, it has the ability to possess the shadow of an enemy, and may do this in order to slow and weaken them. When a Shaman uses this ability, their sight is greatly reduced and they are blind to peripheral vision, only capable of seeing what is directly in front of them. If their target has their shadow reduced significantly, or cast away entirely by light, then the entity of Shadow it returned to the Shaman. T1 - T2 At this stage, the Shaman is incapable of materialising his or her Shadow self T3 - The Shaman may draw upon the energies of their Shadow self in order to transition through the Shadows and access the Mortal Shadow from any point T4 - At this point, the Shaman can materialise the Shadow self, albeit during a process that would take about 4 emotes of connecting with oneself and drawing on Spiritual energies. At this stage it is very difficult for the Shadow to possess someone else’s shadow, and is instead used often for practice or gimmicks T5 - The Shaman may summon the Shadow in two emotes, and the Shadow is more significantly capable of slowing a person once possessing their shadow Luara’s Light This is a spell that may emanate from the Grey Stone, and is quite simple a tool that may light an otherwise darkened area. This light radiates with Spiritual energy; If honed, the light can blind to the extent that shining a torch in someone’s face would do. However, this light cannot be used to harm Dark Creatures, and does not inherit the same properties as Holy Magic. Manipulation (The horrible manipulation of Shadow and Light to form a hideous (but immaterial) creature) As the Shaman is tied to the Spirits of Shadow and Light, they may influence the light around them to some extent. It is possible for them to manipulate the shadows in order to create ghastly figures, or drape themselves in darkness. It is also possible to bend the light that comes from sources such as fire, and they may even put out torches with their Spiritual intent. T1 - T2 This ability is not fully comprehended at this stage, and at most the Shaman may twist and contort small lights T3 - The Shaman may meld into the Shadows, greatly reducing their visibility to other entities T4 - At this stage, the Shaman can begin to manipulate both Light and Shadow, even so far as to stretch it slightly. However, it will remain fixed to a flat surface T5 - The Shaman may manipulate Shadows in such a way as to draw them from the surface they are cast upon, so that they appear as 3D images. Additionally, it is at this stage that they can alter lights to burn out Dark Rebirth This is a ritual in which a higher tiered Shaman may take a person that is not a Mali’ker into the Mortal Shadow. This outside race will not have a Soul Shadow within the realm, but through the efforts of the Shaman, one may be made with which the outsider may do battle. If they manage to defeat their Shadow, they will absorb it and gain the blessings of Khruul and Luara. This process will cause them to undergo the same transformative process as the Dark Elves, and their skin will grey as their eyes turn a crimson hue. They will however, retain the curses of their original race, and will for ann intents and purposes be of the same race, with variations to their appearance This is a T5 ability and has no further utility as it advances Sight of Khruul The sight of Khruul is a talent gifted to all who defeat their Soul’s Shadow. It allows them to communicate with the ancestors of the Mortal Shadow, and gives them the ability to decipher the symbols set into the darkness. The ancestors of the Mortal Shadow may not communicate with words, and must instead speak with the living through the symbology they can present in the Shadows. This is a language otherwise imperceivable without the Sight of Khruul, and often times certain symbols are used in their culture as a means to represent ideas and words relating to them; often through tattoo work. T1 - The Shaman may understand and begin to decipher symbols, and may communicate with the Ancestors that dwell within the Mortal Shadow. Through this, they may act as a pathway of speech between those in the Mortal Realm and indeed, the Mortal Shadow, for a Shaman can produce symbols with the Grey Stone T2 - The Shaman may begin to enter the Mortal Shadow more freely, and may even bring one additional person with them. When within the Mortal Shadow, it is possible to communicate with Ancestors through words, and not simply symbology T3 - The Shaman may bring two additional participants as well as him/herself, but they will be prone to attack from the Shadows of those that are brought along as attention is garnered T4 - The Shaman may bring four participants alongside themselves, and this is the cut off point Red Lines - Shadowed Entities cannot cause physical harm to living creatures, nor can the manipulation of Shadow or Light - All abilities follow the same logic as Shamanism, and require the use of Mana to perform - Shamans who learn this branch must take up a Magic slot
  9. For all intents and purposes they'd be new to the world during their introduction.
  10. The Igbagaraal (Ig-bag-aah-raal) Reference: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/156898-✓-the-mortal-shadow-lataumancy-addition/#comment-1484192 They had no means of influencing the world, for they were separate from it. Indeed, it is hard for that which does not "exist" to encroach upon the realm of the material. Yet from the moment that the Creator became, they observed in reticent anguish. As an aspect that contradicted their very nature, material and life spewed from it with an unrelenting odour, filling the Universe with density and weight. They were helpless but to observe as their world became a blinding mess of entropy and chaos and sound, reverberating across existence with a defiant cry toward the immaterial. However, it would not last against the enduring darkness, of this they were sure. And so it came to be, as the Spirit of Shadows meddled within his domain, creating The Mortal Shadow, a domain that sits at the cusp of the eternal dark, the latent powers within looming at its the very edge, clutching onto that which comes close in an attempt to spread. An untold and mysterious energy that has always existed, its cold, removing reach calculating against the life that had trampled upon its territory. Indeed, a bridge had been opened. A point through which the darkness could spread, a realm between existence and its antihesis. It was here that the creatures of the unspeakable dark would meddle. (An Elven Host corrupted and weakened by an Igbagaraal) The Igbagaraal are creatures of the darkness, the companion to the material that has watched the theatrics of life play over in endless cycles of chaos and the illusion of order. For time immemorial they have yearned for the chance to encroach upon the material world and tear it asunder, returning the Universe to a state of tranquil inactivity. With the Mortal Shadow in the world, the Igbagaraal have a chance to enact their vengeance upon the world. Indeed, it serves as a gateway through which the Igbagaraal may work, because they can only exist in darkness. When one of these creatures enters the Mortal Shadow, they seek the Shamans there in an attempt to possess them. It is once their victims have been possessed that they can begin to take advantage of the waypoints to the Mortal Realm that exist within this domain. The main goal of an Igbagaraal is to emerge within the Mortal Realm and draw as much as they can back into the darkness. They are incredibly powerful creatures, but run on borrowed time as the hosts they inhabit wither away and contort in horribly painful ways. Their capabilities extend to the point of enshrouding material in a blanket of darkness, which slowly works to remove it from existence. When this is achieved, nout but a void forms in its wake, which quickly becomes a state of volatile energy as the world is bent to fill the space made. (An Igbagaraal using the Shadows to emerge in the Mortal Realm) These creatures may only function in darkness, and for this reason it is necessary for them to have a host through which to react with the world. On their own, they are entirely useless entities that cannot exist at all without some form of anchoring to the world. Due to this, their host form is weakened to light and withers away as their latent energies begin to deconstruct the cells of the person or beast they have possessed. For when the Igbagaraal is in the world, it may transfer from one host to another under the shroud of the night sky, and uses this period to its full advantage. These creatures are weakened during the day, and prefer to hide within clandestine quarters as they wait out the passing of time in their stygian hideouts. It is here that they shuffle and meander, attempting to grow accustomed to the vessel they are in, which changes and morphs into a terrible aesthetic as they continue to possess it. They are quite incapable of speech, and indeed any advanced function. They cannot run, fight or lift when they are within a host, and instead rely on their own energetic influence to react with the world. The Igbagaraal are only capable of a handful of feats, which will be listed below. (An Igbagaraal assimilated with Knives) Possession: These creatures may possess anything that exists, but of course that which cannot move will remain immovable. It is entirely pointless to possess a rock, and so the Igbagaraal are mostly interested in that which lives, for life itself is the ultimate enemy of these creatures. This includes people, animals and also plants, which all wither and distort with every moment they continue to be possessed. These effects are irreversible by any means, and all damage is permanent. Removal: The Igbagaraal enshroud a chosen area in darkness, induced by their terrible aurus. When it is covered, it begins to deconstruct and decay over the passing days that this process occurs. When the chosen area has completely been removed, only an extremely perplexing state of darkness will exist there, which cannot be interacted with save for the influence of Muun Magic, which may reverse the process itself. These fields of shadow can be used as a defence mechanism, and all who step onto them will find their bodies considerably weakened and susceptible to puppeteering. However, they can also be removed in their active states by the influence of Holy Light. Puppeteering: If these creatures can access the shadow at the foot of a creature, they may begin to influence them and force them into performing actions, as if in a state of mimicry. This is only possible through the Igbagaraal extending its energies, and causes a mist to permeate the environment. If this is allowed to reach the target, then they will be under the influence of the creature. Assimilation: These entities may draw objects onto their possessed form in order to "repair" it, in an attempt to further shroud their forms from the pervading light of the Mortal Realm. All materials and limbs may be absorbed by the skin and attached to the host, including mixing the limbs of animals and Descendants. Weaknesses and Red Lines: - Weak to Holy Magic and intense levels of light, which will blind the host - Weak Mortal Forms, which may be cut and stabbed; killing the host will cause the Igbagaraal to also die as it is released - Weak to the passing of time, and may not exist for more than two IRL months as eventually their bodies will be incapable of movement and will degrade and rot - Cannot be played unless by an ET - Cannot run, speak, fight or perform any considerable physical actions
  11. MC Name: Smawton RP Name: Gijaak'Raguk Position: You decide Types: Spirit Smithing and Elementalism
  12. This shouldn't even require LT approval, since the Spirits are far reaching and without limits.
  13. Krug was cursed with Bloodlust, which would make him and his descendants "ugly" in the sense of how they behaved. The fact that Krug was corrupted and morphed was a byproduct of being the first to initiate combat, unarmed, and has nothing to do with anything else. Good meme though.
  14. Arguably, even in product they're very similar. It's their mental state and origins that create a variation between the two. Seems like Gazigash would have most likely been responsible for this.
  15. Hey, I can do the Mordring event series.

  16. Looking for a skinner/shader to help make an event skin. Message me if you're interested in helping out.

Something to do with that, yes.

  17. Since the Golin'Dar have offered no formal apology, nor expressed their independence from the terrorists that attacked the Uzg, the Krughai will be forced to take direct action.
  18. My family are cockney and this hurts. It's close, though. ... you tart.
  19. I see what you did there. Having said that, I like it.
  20. The proposal being that the Lingerers are consumed. They have next to no relevancy anymore.
