In the darkened streets of a sleeping Oren, a shadowed figure drags an unconscious man into the alleyways of the slums, leaving a trail of slick blood behind him. He pauses, drawing his thick, monk-like black robes tighter about his thin frame, and pulling the hood a bit a lower over his gaunt cheekbones and shadowed eyes. As a noise echoes from down the street, he turns, startled, his fingers drumming and tapping a fast beat as he jerks his head around, but there is nothing there. Slowly, he calms somewhat, and grabs the unconscious victim once more, dragging him out of sight...and out of the mind of the city. No one will miss a single peasant. Or two. Or three... Or four...

Wait, if that big town was a minor human settlement, how many cities are there? And how big is the capital? D: It's going to be the spread-out rp problem all over again!

It's 'virtually unplayable' to you only because you stuffy old timers refuse to do anything but nostalg'it up about Aegis and how great it was, though I highly doubt there ever was a time when people weren't whining about every little thing the admins did. As a member of the Asulon-born clan, I find the server VERY playable, and moreover, VERY amazing. In fact, I have yet to find a better roleplay server. So I trust in the admins, and maybe more of the older players should try doing that too.

You could also add content filters while you're at it. Change anything involving possible flame material into messages of love and respect for all!

Name of the Person who Proposed the Change: Whitebeard Change: Taxes Why I support this change: I have seen that many people believe that taxation should be handled IC and performed manually. I am opposed to that belief, though I agree on the point that things can get more interesting when done IC. Unfortunately, it is just not practical. Have you ever been to a town with taxes? The manual taxation system they have almost always leaves the clutter of OOC note signs stuck on people's homes, tax collection chests, and forces nation officials to chase down people who may have left the server. And this is just property tax. Realistically, this is a server, and unlike real life, nation officials log off. How are they supposed to be able to loom over every person at all times, make sure each transaction is taxed? Everyone would simply evade taxes. And while tax evasion can be fun RP, when everyone is doing it, it just becomes a problem. YES to plugin-enforced taxation.

You either die a legit server player, or you live long enough to see yourself become the DDoS attacker. I can DDoS Craftlandia. Because I'm not a hero.. not like Shift. I can DDoS those people. That's what I can be. ((Joking))

* Night falls on the human capital of Arethor. At the far side of the city, an arm shoots out of the water, and struggles to pull a cloaked, soaked figure onto the docks. Pulling his legs free of the ocean, the gaunt man rolls over onto his back, wheezing and panting, a canvas sack clutched in his hands. Gradually, he rises to his feet, and lurches towards the Arethor dock gate. Into the city he shambles, skulking through the alleys and low walls of gardens, shrouding his thin figure in his cloak, the colour of shadow. There is no moon this night, and only the torches and fireplaces of the nearby homes light the city. For the most part, the people are asleep - aside from the occasional patrolling guard. The figure pauses as he slips by a torch, eying the flame. His sunken eyes radiate a nervous respect, maintaining a distance between his pale face and the fire. Continuing on his path, he eventually reaches the main square, empty at this time of night, but still electric with the activity from the day. Approaching the fountain, he opens his bag, reaches a hand in, and pulls two hands out. One hand is his, and the other is bloody and torn, cut from another body. Grabbing a couple old nails, the figure presses the hand to the pole of the fountain, and pushes the nails through, chipping into the mortar of the stone, attaching the gruesome hand to the water piece. Stepping back, he watches dispassionately as the hand turns the water cloudy-red with runoff blood, then tosses a piece of parchment onto the ground in front of the fountain. Turning away, he looks up at the houses around him, kindness and compassion radiating from his gaze as he observes the sleeping households. Then, he pulls his cloak tighter around him, and disappears into the night. Lying on the ground in front of the fountain-mounted bloody human hand, the parchment paper is inscribed with a single command, painted in thick, rough handwriting. "Know the truth, and love thy mother." *

I like the meaning of Neoselpis, but its a bit awkward to say. We need something that flows, even if it has no meaning in a RL language.

Simple, really. Before we had cars and all this modern infrastructure IRL, any sort of city or settlement was founded in close proximity to fresh water. Rivers, especially the massive kind such as this one would be, are abundant sources of not only fresh water, but also fish and minerals, as well as providing a fast and simple form of transporting people and goods.
