It's named after the city of Hamburg, in Germany. However, it's unclear whether or not the dish actually comes from Hamburg. 

Why do they call Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew when it is not made from a mountain 

It comes from Hamburg, hence the name.

It's simple to be a trend setter, really. First, identify your target audience, and realize what their limitations are. From those limitations, you can easily draw where your line is when talking about certain subjects, such as religion or politics. That is the line you shouldn't cross with your target audience, or fellow trend-setters. After that, you should deliberately cross over that line, simply for the joy of being over that line. And then, simply take the majority of the community with you over that line as well, and whatever you say will be like an awe inspiring, all knowing piece of wisdom, granted to their mortal brains by the Gods themselves.
