Country Selected: Zimbabwe, now known as the Empire of Rhodes (Rhodesia) Nation Leader: Field Marshall Ian Smith Demonstrate Understanding of Nation (Bio/Facts/Info): As the Zimbabweans starved to death under the poor administration of Mugabe, the whites which had fled the country under his rule began to return. Having seen the abhorrent conditions faced by whites in South Africa, and witnessing the destruction of formerly great nations, many whites returned to the failing nation. Many who could trace their roots back to the former nation of Rhodesia returned to find links to their past, bringing with them the wealth earned from countries such as America and Australia. Many former residents of South Africa that fled from the persecution faced also returned to take advantage of the unstable government.
The whites gathered under a singular idea, and began to institute their ideal of a great nation under white direction, and to seek revenge for the wrongs of recent times by the likes of Mugabe and Nelson Mandela's forces during his insurgency. With this, they established a new government, and using their greater education and funds, began a relatively successful insurgence.
The Mugabe regime, which was already struggling with civil unrest as the starving black population rioted for food, was quickly dismantled by the well-led, well organised and better equipped white forces. Many blacks, forgetting the oppression of the apartheid and remembering the days when they ate well under white leadership, followed the whites. The revolution grew and by Christmas of 2016, had all but seized control of the nation.
A form of military totalitarianism ruled the state in a form similar to fascism, although the states of the nation were governed by a form of oligarchic council, of which only white people could be elected to. These councils would handle everything on a state level, and often would form tight-knit regiments of locals. The rapid take-over and efficient and often brutal enforcement of a stable government stopped following uprisings from taking place as blacks were relegated to second class citizens.
A year passed as the nation regained its footing, establishing itself properly and fixing any internal strife. Under the new, efficient lead of the new white leaders, modernisation took over, as more efficient farming techniques were employed. The formerly starving blacks now ate enough to fill their bellies, as the economy was reset with a new currency, the Rhodesian pound, the GDP based around agriculture but was being fed by a budding industrial power.
Seeking a sea connection, however, and wanting to test their new system of military, the new Rhodesia decided to build its empire, and launched an attack on the neighbouring Mozambique. Following three months of harsh fighting and popular underground support of the new power in the region, three Mozambique provinces were seized (Manica, Sofala, Inhambane). The newly established Empire of Rhodes established regional governments with Mozambique representation as an armistice was signed. Officially, the two countries are currently at war, as the Mozambique people are resettled to other parts of the nation in an attempt to stifle any unrest. Migration to the newly seized regions was encouraged. Pass phrase: shitshitshit Do you understand the rules and regulations of this FRP: Yes
