  4. While marching through the midlands of Oren, Vectis halts an armored boot, looking down to a curious egg lying beneath him right in the pathway. He plants the boot down beside the other, bending his knees to further inspect it before taking it carefully into his gauntlets. What sort of egg could it possibly be?

  6. People complain about the server not being fun, about how we're all bad people. I say the opposite. I think it's a bunch of warped perceptions.

  7. If you have trouble finding casual RP then you are looking in the wrong places. Search outside your normal group of friends & search roads & fledgling towns in peak hours. The server is rich & abound with new opportunities, find new friends or groups who's RP times align with your schedule. You will be surprised.

Also, I do wander around quite a lot. ;) I have always done that, ever since I joined LotC.

There's a nice place that Izzy Flormai runs on the way to the crossroads. Just keep going. If you hit the signs telling you to go left or right for the human or dwarvan nations, you've gone a tiny bit too far. It's an inn and I've seen it bustling with RP quite often :3

  13. *A note is posted at the Great Nations' Crossing:* ATTENTION! All Wolvengard recruits, in your response, you may have been directed to 'meet at Crow's Foot'. But what is Crow's Foot? Where is it? To start off, Crow's Foot is the Wolvengard's continental outpost. It is our point of operation on the mainland and the location of our stables. It is located further east near the Wilds' Dock on the same beach. It is a palisade structure surrounding a stone tower and some stables. If nobody is there you are free to wait out your time in the smithy located outside the walls. The Wolvengard hopes this will assist recruits in finding their way to our Order. God speed.
  14. Kind of sad to see once respected players troll the server that let them meet some of their online friends, or at least have fun on.

  17. Welcome to Drazker's Newbie Guide to Lord of the Craft. Here, I show you how to start your adventures on Anthos. This guide will cover several topics, from server commands to the strangeness of the Nexus Plugin to new players. I hope this will make 'getting into' Lord of the Craft not such a daunting task! LoTC: 1.6.2 First off, Lord of the Craft is currently operating on Minecraft release update 1.6.2. If you log into Minecraft and your screen looks like this: Then you are not on the proper update. To fix this, start at the beginning launcher, here: Start by clicking 'Edit Profile' in the bottom-left corner of the screen.Next, on the 'Profile Editor', click 'Use version' and it will make a drop-down list of Releases.Select release 1.6.2 and Save Profile. After that, click play and your screen should look like this: Your Character Card The first command you need to learn is /roleplay Typing /roleplay will make a bunch of commands flash up on your chat window. Read them each over and experiment with how they work. There's no rush! Before you start roleplaying, you want to set your character card. "BUT DRAZKER, WHAT IS A CHARACTER CARD!?" A character card is all the information on the character you are playing at that time. Character cards are not permanent. You can wipe or change the information whenever you want in case something happens to your character you want to add to their description or age, or in case you want to make a whole new character! People can view YOUR character card by typing "/char [Your MC Username]" or by Shift+Right Clicking you on the server. You can do this as well to other players so you can get a good idea of the other characters you are interacting with in your roleplays. Basic Info: /setname, /setrace, /setage, /setgender First off, you want to choose a name for your character with "/setname [Name you want for your character]" The name for your character can be anything you can come up with. If you would like help with your name if you are a race other than human ( such as wanting a more cultural name ) you can ask other players on the forums or in-game. Next, you want to "/setrace [Your character's race]" Starting off, you can be a 'Human', 'Elf', 'Orc', or 'Dwarf'. There are also cat-people called Kharajyr and half-breeds like Halflings you can look into once you are a little more knowledgeable about the server. /setage will only take numerical values, so you can't type "Thirty-two" or anything like that. Decide on a good age for your character before setting this to your character card. /setgender only allows you to set 'Male' or Female'. Sorry, no amorphous blob 4 u! Description: /setinfo & /addinfo Now we have /setinfo. /Setinfo is the beginning line or sentence for your Character Card's description. If you have a ton of info already set and you type /setinfo [New description line] then it will RESET all the information you wrote! To add on to your description after the first line/sentence, you MUST use /addinfo [More description here]. But what do you put in your description? Some people put jokes in theirs, some people put no description at all. I think it is more immersive for other roleplayers to have a good description. Character height, weight, build, smell, how they sound are all things to consider when writing this. If you ever get bored of your character, /createcard and /removecard will be commands you use. The first card assigned to you by the server is named, by default, your MC username. You can name any future cards by typing "/createcard [Card Name]". Forms of Chat & Communication There are different ways to communicate on the server, both in roleplay and OOC. This part of the Guide will tell you how to switch your default communication and how and when to use the different types. Roleplay Communication By typing "/rp", you set your default chat input to Roleplay. Everything entered in this chat will be perceived by others as roleplay. NO OOC is to be used in /rp or any of the other types of Roleplay Communication. /rp is perceived as speaking In Character at a normal volume. The other two forms of Roleplay Communication are shouting and whispering. These are represented by the commands "/s" and "/w", respectively. When typing in shout, your messages will be broadcast over a much longer distance. When typing in whisper, your messages will only be able to be heard from a short distance. ( I think it's like, four MC blocks away? ) You can change your default chat input to whisper or shout by typing "/w" or "/s" but you can keep it set to something else and still whisper by entering a message after it. For example: In the above case, you will not have to keep switching between /rp and /w. OOC Communication Lord of the Craft has three primary avenues of OOC communication. There are private messages, Local OOC, and Global OOC. Local OOC can be set to be your default chatstyle by typing "/looc". You can also type temporary Local OOC messages by either putting "/looc [message]" or "(([Message]" Global OOC is a channel that can be joined and left by typing "/join OOC" and "/leave OOC". It's good because you can leave it if your chat window is being cluttered with roleplay. Finally, there are private messages. Private messages can be sent to any player online on the server. You can see who is online by typing "/people" and see what mods are online by typing "/modlist". "/t [Player you want to message] [Message]", "/m [Player you want to message] [Message]", and "/msg [Player you want to message] [Message]" are all functional commands used to send messages to other players. --- This guide is a work in progress.
  18. Vectis, while busy out training in the yard one day, is handed the letter by one of his Squires. He halts his practice to read it over and nods before departing the training yard, sheathing his blade. A good thirty minutes later he settles himself behind a desk, dipping a quill into ink and responding, his calligraphy guided by spectacles and torchlight. He pens a letter, which he has sent by messenger owl to the applicant. It reads as follows: "To Hileia'Avern, Your application to the Order of the Wolvengard has been processed. Please find your way to Crow's Foot as this will be your first test to join us. Once you have arrived, you will undergo inspection and see if you will be of any worth to us. I look forward to making your acquaintance. Sincerely, Cavalier Vectis"
