  1. It's certainly worth joining, but Ireland is apart of Imperium Brittania. There's two nations that are inactive that you may be able to play as, which is the Andean Confed and the Kazakh Confed, as well as numerous nation in Africa (Though they are all at war with India and the Caliphate, which may not be that fun to start off into.) Also, there's always room for more holy orders, mercenary companies, etc. Just pm myself, or really and of the FRPer's for idea's. Pok might be able to give you an interesting angle to play.
  2. Pillaging is honestly the worst thing in the world. Conquest at least see's that a city or town is still there to play on, but if you pillage, you undo a load of work, break people's spirit, and considering pillages only come as a result of turning down a conquest, that usually means they're the least excited for the consequences of war. Pillages are the things that should be moderated heavily, not conquest. You don't need to take the town's OOC ownership away either, but I would like to see the conquested fed the option to make a new character that is made the leader.
  3. The Republic of Africa The Home Front The death of Ukuwu was a shocking event to the men and women of South Africa. This shock and grief was followed only by more shock and grief: Elon Musk, President of the South African Republic, had finally passed, being nearly a century old. In his place, Marshal Dcomba is controversially elected to lead the country rather than vice president Seigmund Odamumbe. With the arrival of India into the war, and now control over the Commonwealth of Africa, a more streamlined, bureaucratic and democratic system is put in place of the old realm, and a new name is adopted. The Great Afrikan War With control over the Commonwealth's forces, Dcomba forces a fast deployment of the troops in Niger into Northern Chad, to sharply turn to flank the coming onslaught. 2 000 000 men are dedicated to this effort, but it seems like this might not be enough. The defensive line of Chad, only 750 000, has 500 000 basically trained troops moved from South Africa's coastal defence, but this again seems to be measly. Only time would tell of its effective use if and when the main forces were flung into it. The forces in Niger press on with the California Dominion anyhow, hoping to smash the 2 000 000 men the Caliph has to offer, though 200 000 of the 2 350 000 men dedicated in the west are transported over to east, taking up positions with their Ethiopian and South African Counterparts, leaving just over 2 000 000 men to face of against the Caliph and Indian pressing into Ethiopia, which would excersize a scorched Earth policy should they get separated from the main force (assuming they connected) all the way to the old defencive lines. The main front from the Central African Republic, sporting roughly 2 750 000 Commonwealth Soliders, 750 000 South African's, and 1 000 000 Coalition men press hard to eradicate the 500 000 Caliphate forces stuck in Sudan before being attacked by the main force, following the old plans. Requests for Coalition forces in the Horn of Africa to support the Ethiopian, South African and St. George forces are requested (Mod please). USAC is given a curt thanks for the help it has provided, with a quick, sly comment about how northerner's just must not be used to the heat of conflict. Cape Town completes a new aircraft carrier, and is rushed to be deployed with the new ships near Yemen (deployment will happen after mod post to avoid being ridiculous). A draft is now formed, as to press more of the men into service, though with St. George rhetoric running high among Christians, it is not hard to convince them to move to the front. drawing now from a population of over 1 billion, hopes are high to at least get enough men to stem the tide of the Caliph's wrath, though Dcomba makes plans in case that isn't how things come to play out. Lastly, in an address to the people of The Republic of Africa, a scathing comment is made about how India has long since abandoned its ways of peace and progress in the name of Islam. He also makes remarks that the India today was the dream of Pakistan over a century ago, hoping to instigate the Hindu and Buddhist majority in India proper to act out against the country. The rhetoric used to try getting Sufi's to rise against the Caliph is now re-iterated to all sects other than the Sunni faith. International Relations The California Dominion is asked to hasten the terms of her agreement, in light of Indian intervention. They're thanked for the Tali schematics, as well as the microwave laser defences. They see production across the Republic. Greece and Italy are thanked for opening new fronts, as is The Imperium. A request is made in private to all allied powers facing the Caliph to discuss the war. In light of The Grand Colonial ships readying to go to Mars (2 turns), all powers with space programs are asked for an open dialogue.
  4. South Africa Ethiopia's request to join South Africa is initially really well received, but the lack of coastline presents a problem: For resources to move to Ethiopia from the rest of the nation, a deal would have to be struck with the other African nation's for movement through their territory, which is far from ideal. It is suggested that if Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia or Kenya join as well, they could administer themselves as a largely autonomous African Horn region within a Greater Republic of Africa. It is also suggested that this happens after the war, to more accurately depict how people feel about it. More men are sent to train Ethiopia's army, to have no time wasted in moving them to the front. 1 100 000 freshly trained combatants are now ready for deployment. Across the 10 nations that comprised it, Zambian and Zimbabwean men make up a great deal of the recruits, as some are too impatient to be pulled from poverty through the programs instituted in their countries. Of these men, 700 000 who are deemed in need of further training are sent to defend the major ports of the nation, 100 000 sent to Cape Town and Maputo individually, and the rest largely concentrated near around the most likely points of landing as they finish their training. The remaining 400 000, deemed completely capable of service, with the newly created tanks, ships and planes are transported to reinforce Mali and Mauritania, with California Dominion commanders trusted with directing them, as they have operated in the area longer. Air supremacy is maintain over allied lands in the Horn of Africa from the aircraft carriers, as well as numerous Ethiopian bases, but whether this holds, only time will tell. Plans for Space Fighters are given to Brightsword Company, as well as an offer to help guard the Mars Colonial Expedition and transport civilians. Payment for this would come in the form of access to South Africa's outer Earth space facilities on Mars, and in space. THE COMMONWEALTH OF AFRIKA The initial surprise from the Caliphate's attack had now washed away: The people of Africa were ready. With American's in the west, as well as Coalition forces being raised there, the leadership of the Commonwealth maintain their current lines. In regards to South Africa's proposal in cutting across Niger, they accept, though request 300 000 men from the South African forces to defend their flank as they enter Chad. The Commonwealth commits 1 500 000 of its men for the sweeping of Chad, hoping to smash the forces moving through the desert from behind, and drive them into the defensive line in the south. Should this attack be successful, they will move north and try to secure a line through Central Libya and South Algeria, from Sabha, Libya, and Djanet, Algeria. South African forces are asked to secure the land between Tamanraset and Djanet from Caliphate forces before moving north or west. The 500 000 defending the southern defensive line of Chad are reinforced by 250 000 men at South Africa's suggestion, the remaining 2 750 000 men keeping up the offensive through Sudan, following South African plans there too. In regards to South Africa's request to form a greater nation, it is simply requested that this is a poor time to have suggested such a thing, and that the Commonwealth would take the initiative to approach them about it if they were interested. They ask for no more talk about it, though. (South Africa accepts all of the Commonwealth's requests)
  5. South Africa Every person in every part of South Africa is Jubilant. The smashing success' of South Africa in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan have people in constant celebration. The armed forces are now flooded with people eager to see action and attain glory. Production is heightened as well, as nationalism is at an all time high in the face of this unparalleled success. Marshal Dcomba is already being hailed for these achievements, though he is deaf to them: His eyes still lying on the north. East Sudan/Horn of Africa Campaign He looks over the maps quietly, pleased that his focus in the East has garnered the total success needed to kick of the South African involvement, though he is sure resistance will only grow greater. The 350 000 troops in Somalia move to press Khartoum, as he prays that he may reach it before the Caliphate, preventing them from returning to Egypt, and regrouping for a proper counter attack. The 100 000 men the USAC has dedicated to this cause are also brought to support the contest of the horn, with the two aircraft carriers brought to the Horn of Africa to continue to enforce naval and air superiority. The submarines move closer to Port Sudan, using the major port in Massawa, Eritrea to refuel and repair. They intercept any Caliphate troops trying to land, or pull out, sticking close to the coast in case they are spotted. Marshal Dcomba asks that the Ethiopian forces support his move the Khartoum, whilst the Order of St. George and Coalition forces press north to secure Port Sudan. The main force will continue to drive back the Caliph's men who used to hold the western line in Ethiopia, with Dcomba planning for half the total forces to be dedicated to Both the capture of the coast and to cut them off at the capital, though this is up to the other nations leaders whether or not this will come to fruition. South Africa will be moving to Khartoum either way. 100 000 men from the other side of the front are transported over, and used to press with the main force against the remnants of the Caliph's forces in the Horn of Africa, launching from Gondar, set to cut off the main attack force against the Central African Republic, effectively crushing them in a pincer. After this interception, they too will move to Khartoum to meet up with forces there. Coalition forces from South Sudan and Uganda are asked to take over and press the Caliphate out of Southern Sudanese cities, forcing them onto the main road towards and trapping them between 3 major forces and a desert. of A map with Dcomba's plan is given to allied forces: Green = Submarines Purple = South Sudanese and Ugandan forces Yellow = Western main force Red = Eastern main force Blue = South African and Ethiopian forces Brown = St. George and African Horn Coalitionist forces Black = Main forces after Coalitionary forces from Uganda and South Sudan meet with both fronts X's = Major cities along the way, where battles have, or may take place Niger Campaign Dcomba looked with great frustration to Niger. 500 000 men had driven out the Afrikan Coalition? The idea to Dcomba was absurd, but he had to accept what he was dealt. Seeing no threat on the Sudanese front (The Caliph's forces outnumbered nearly 5/1 after reinforcements) he takes 1 000 000 and a 1/3 of South Africa's armour capabilities with him. 1 000 000 remain with the main force, to ensure success when Egypt is reached, but the now 1 950 000 man strong South African army was now moving to save West Africa - Starting with Niger. The 1 000 000 men from the Central African front are moved to the closer city of Zinder, the 950 000 already bound for Niger arriving in Tahoua. They both press quickly towards Agadez - This time, outnumbering there foes 4/1 alone. He calls for the forces defending southern Niger, as well as the coalition forces moving to the front lines on this front, to either move up with them and move to flank the Caliph's forces moving into Chad's desert, or help create a stronger defensive line in Chad. An attempt to gain air superiority over Agadez is launched from these two cities, with 1/3 of South Africa's air forces now operating in the west to assure success. The two armies set off for Agadez now, hoping to pincer the Caliph's forces out of existence. A map is handed off to the generals of the coalition: Black = South African forces Green = Commonwealth and Coalition suggested route of attack Blue X = 2nd Battle of Agadez Red X's = Cities that may see heavy defense and warrant a full scale battle Now Dcomba waited, watching to see how things unfolded...
  6. (going to use this for campaign specifics considering I accidentally double posted) Ethiopian/Somali Campaign The men dedicated to Ethiopia's war effort moved north, using the road to Eritrea to liberate it, and smash the Caliph's forces pushing into the scorched Earth of Ethiopia, and, hopefully, flank those intending to invade Somalia. These men would secure Asmara - Eritrea's capital, and send 30 000 men to secure the country, whilst the remaining 120 000 would press hard towards Somalia. The hope is to steer the Caliph's forces either into Somalia, and suffer a pincer movement coming from there, or into the main line, and to make them suffer a different pincer movement between allied forces and the main like in the East. All 300 of South Africa's APV's in Ethiopia would be dedicated to this, as well as all of the fastest transport vehicles in the area: Speed was essential, as the forces of the Caliph must quickly be driven to one of the to movements to ensure the best results. The Eritrean garrison would raise local militia's and secure the country until operations allowed for reinforcements. Somalia's coast is guarded by the entirety of South Africa's navy (with the exception of 20 or so major coastal defense craft further south) and move along the coast, striking hard against the transport ships of the Caliphate. If the submarines are finding themselves overwhelmed, they will largely stay near docks in Berbera and Bosaso, destroying any ships trying to dock. Both aircraft carriers are brought close, too, and large air wings are sent to destroy the ships and provide air superiority for South Africa's ships, while hopefully harassing mainland troops between Somalia and Eritrea. Somalia itself will receive another 150 000 to drive off the rest of the Caliph's forces, and force them into the coast, or drive them towards the Eritrean forces. This part of the army would receive 75 tanks, as to ensure the pummeling of these men. Hargeisa is to be secured before a drive northwest towards Borama, or to the main defensive line in East Ethiopia. It is expected to be a smashing success: Ethiopia only received 50 000 troops from the Caliph to secure it, and Somalia must not be much different. It is hoped this campaign is quick, so that excursions north, towards Egypt, can be attempted. Under the defensive line created in the west, 50 000 men are sent to begin fighting with South Sudanese forces, and drive northward. (adding more soon, will also come with improved maps)
  7. South Africa (My Pok approved mil numbers) ARMED FORCES: South African Regulars: 2 700 000 South African Extreme Terrain (Mountain/Desert) fighters: 500 000 Total Active Servicemen: 3 200 000 LAND SYSTEMS: Tanks: 2987 APV's: 3567 Self propelled guns: 310 Towed Artillery: 4017 Multiple-Launch Rocket Systems: 301 AIR FORCES: Fighters/Interceptors: 801 Fixed Wing Attack Craft: 1297 Transport Aircraft: 1057 Trainer Aircraft: 356 Attack Helicopters: 491 NAVAL POWER: Aircraft Carriers: 2 Frigates: 15 Destroyers: 10 Submarines: 52 Coastal Defence craft: 56 Today was the day. South Africa's official stance on the war was to be announced. Across the world, T.V.'s would be lit to show not Elon Musk, but Marshal Dcomba Siamono, the Madagascar immigrant turned superstar of South Africa through his brilliant revitalization of the army's training and discipline. He'd glare into the camera set up near him, as he loudly begins his speech. "Dearest people of Africa, we can assure you now that you will be defended by our nation's forces, and those already overtaken, LIBERATED by our hands. For too long have our continent been the subject of imperialism, and it is time we struck back at these invasive Arabian peoples. As I speak, our navy moves to sink the Caliphate's forces moving to Somalia into the ocean. Our men are landing in Ethiopia - 350 000 to be exact, with more to come, as they too move to maintain the lines while squashing the measly forces sent there. Our air force will now harass their navy, and their military positions, and our remaining 2 950 000 men will intercept and destroy the forces coming from Nigeria, conscious of the forces in Chad. We will smash them hard, and with the guidance of TRAC's forces, as well as Brightsword servicemen, we will hit them hard." Interrupted by applause by the government assembly, he yells out over them as it begins to fade. "To those fellow African's that may consider aligning themselves with the Caliphate, know you are committing suicide, no matter which side wins: These men are not champions of the Muslim faith, but rather champions of the Sunni Muslims that agree with those like the late Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the belief that backwards hadiths - The viscous suppression of women, a strict moral code on sexual activity that is contradicted with the belief that you will get dozens of women for your service as a martyr in the afterlife is absurd. Absolutely absurd. They will look to you not as African's, not as Muslim's, but as Sufi's, and they will persecute you the same way their Turkish ancestors did, the way that ALL extreme Sunni's have. To give yourself unto the Caliphate because of religious belief's is the greatest oxymoron of our lifetime, for they will either make you convert, or kill you. Remember this, my fellow African's, and know that we will break the Caliph's sword in your defence, that we will bring the prosperity that has been given to our nation to the rest of the continent, and share it with African's, not invasive Arabian imperialists. This is Africa, the sand is made red from the blood spilt, we have endured imperialism before and came out stronger. The Caliph will meet the same result, this time the blood of the invaders will make the sand red." Hyper nationalist Zulu's begin to chant, with applause breaking out again, Dcomba yelling out over them. "We officially invite the Afrikan Commonwealth to merge with our fair nation, so we may find ourselves truly one step closer to uniting the continent under a Pan-African Nation! We plead that all nation's not under the Caliphate's sway to take up arms under our banners, so that they may not only survive, but thrive under true African leadership, free of oppression and imperialism! Let us stand united in driving out those who would steal from us, and oppress us! Let us show that no force will prevent an African from exercising self determination, oppress us into silence, or take from us our freedom!" By now, the entire congress would be standing, applauding loudly, chanting happily in approval. Dcomba would nod to the camera, a look of determination on his face as it cut out to celebrations of the Olympic games, national propaganda, and displays of the forces moving around. Africa was one step closer to being a united continent. The recruitment drive is fueled by the poverty of recently accepted nations. Arming the masses is hard, but managed with the support of TRAC. Numbers will be skyrocketing. Zimbabwe and Mozambique are now largely up to South African standards of living, with the infrastructure finally made stable. Those who fail to be employed are largely ending up in the army in some capacity. 350 000 men are sent into Ethiopia via air, with 100 tanks, and 300 APV's air lifted over as well. Smaller transport vehicles are also provided as they are to Counter attack the 50 000 men in Ethiopia with 150 000 men, another 150 000 to smash into forces invading Somalia, the last 50 000 moved to South Sudan to support resistance there. The 2 950 000 left to save the Afrikan Commonwealth are moved quickly to the front lines, 2 000 000 men and 2/3's of the Armour is moved to the Chad line, with hopes to simply overwhelm the forces very high, with the remainder sent to intercept the half million Caliphate forces coming through Niger. Anyone who doesn't receive transport after reaching the front line move off road in a guerrilla style, hoping to spot and harass any sneak attacks. South Africa intends on taking a lead role in this new, grand coalition, and sends aid across Africa, intending to build up its infrastructure like it did to those who came to it. Dcomba suggests its forces move through South Sudan, and smash the Chadian line from the east. Greek Armour (both body and Tank) is provided for this new army, and are quickly moved to be brought up to South African standards. Training also begins, as it is hoped that these men can be made a competent fighting force. Requests to become a greater nation are extended with the Afrikan Commonwealth and to merge with South Africa and to become a larger, greater African state are out there. Lastly, one last attempt to reach out to the Far Eastern Empire is made, but with far less zeal. Defence craft are put along the east coast, ready in case the Eastern Bloc decides to intervene. (will write specific tactics and add maps ASAP)
  8. South Africa Since Mozambique and Zimbawe's joining of the South African Republic, aid to foreign nations has been largely slowed and redirected to the starving nations. Namibia surprised even the most knowledgeable of South African officials on Namibian affairs with how well organized the lands are. The administration is left almost untouched, but infrastructure is shored up to ensure its defence. Bases are built near Windhoek, with desalination plants built along all the new coast line to assure water supplies to the countries, with Walvis Bay and Swakopmund both getting their docks expanded to begin producing ships. Bunkers and the like are built all across the Namib desert, and garrisons are set up at all borders. Zimbabwe's is a mess that South Africa was not expecting. Though the systems were in place to take it on, the extent of corruption and mismanagement is dizzying. Factories are set up across the country to construct more Greek tanks, newly acquired LIONCUB rifles (technology provided by USAC), and airplanes. The armies are banded together , though Zimbabwe's standing military forces (currently of about 250 000 active servicemen) is so poorly outfitted and trained, that they are immediately sent to training alongside the reserves, practicing the art of modern warfare with officers from South Africa, Brightsword Company, the CSA and USAC, with small contingents of British Commonwealth officers. More are offered to come and participate in the peaceful practices. The government of the nation is completely undone, re-elections are called for, and assured to be completely free. Huge projects are done to help deal with the land scarring and desertification that has happened because of the governments misuse of the land. Mozambique is an odd nut to crack. Factories are set up across the land to create jobs and war materials, and the coast is reinforced as strongly as possible, less so because it's deemed necessary, but because of Mozambique's fear of being colonized by Japan. The people cheer as the navy comes around - mostly comprised of submarines and advanced destroyers - and are elated at the erection of several coastal defence ports and posts, all geared up with LIONCUB anti-aircraft and sea-craft turrets. It is seen as a great diplomatic move to cure this fear, so the poorly trained and Mozambiqan men and women in uniform are armed with the finest Greek armour, and the best weapons available (awaiting armaments coming from LIONCUB factories) and the 350 000 or so active servicemen are moved to coastal cities to garrison, being retrained by whatever available officers there are. Public services for both countries are quickly brought up to South Africa's standards, and anyone with education deemed below standards is invited for a free re-education, with living expenses covered until they are ready to re-enter the workforce. The unemployed masses are given work building their country up to greatness, with offers to take up arms also dangling about. Talks are opened with Angola, Malawi and Zambia about joining the Republic as well, it being suggested that the earlier they join, the sooner they'd be able to reinforce their borders with the Afrikan Commonwealth - The extra mile is gone to suggest that South Africa's borders would harden where they are if they are not quick to act. This isn't done to intimidate, as it is clear that South Africa must create a definitive land border as it has done its coasts. The usual generous offers to fix the infrastructure of their nations, as well as bring them to the 1st world standards is layed out, with the option to hold a referendum after the end of the turbulence. Officials within the South African Republic begin to worry though, as though it is a safe investment to improve the production of these countries in the long run, it is beginning to seriously affect the vast stores of resources that have been the great nation's boon. Mod plz) Work on the Grand Colonial ship is extended for safety measures, seeing the actions of the Reclaimer Corps. Soldiers are specially selected and taught how to fight on the ship, as well as some of the new, smaller fighters being made to defend it. All are being refitted to incorporate LIONCUB laser technology. This extends the foreseen several years to build (7 pages) to nearly a decade (9 pages) as to ensure its security. Terra-forming technology hits a breakthrough around this time as well, as water is generated via the "Nuwe Wêreld" works, with it oxygenating and re-hydrating land surrounding it. The creation of plant life is still off, as well as the creation of a proper atmosphere, but scientists are hopeful that it will be here in a decade and a half (15 pages). Active forces breach 1 million servicemen, with 2 million men in reserves and being trained currently. APC's, Tanks, and other heavy vehicles are becoming abundant, the air force becoming quite sizable itself after the several years of production. The navy, though production maxed out on ships, is still quite behind. A fabulous number of anti sea-craft oriented ships such as submarines and destroyers are active, battleships and aircraft carriers are rather scarce. This problem should be fixed by the next year. A detailed report on the military forces is underway again, now that it is highly relevant. The engineers in South America remain there, as their work is not as valuable as the lumber being shipped in return. The country is thanked again. Britain is thanked for its service on behalf of South Africa, with the Empress being given the highest honours the nation has. It is told though, that the children may be taught under their own curriculum, with no interference from the government, that the age of European colonization in Africa was well passed, and that they wouldn't be doing it in a British possession, but rather South African land. Lodging and materials would be free, but they would not govern an inch of it on an official level. De facto, of course, the British are assured free reign, and are offered territory in whichever province to take refuge. An official meeting with the Caliph is re-requested, as well as a meeting with the Far Eastern Empire. The LION laser heavy weaponry being produced by South Africa for the Imperium Britannia now find themselves made for South African's as well.
  9. South Africa T.V. screens across the nation are alight, viewed by anxious men and women throughout Africa. The people pray for no conflict, but inaction has only led to nations being swallowed in the past. Soon, Caliphate propaganda is on every screen, people listening to men of Ethiopia especially who decided to take up the cause on their own accord, and can't help but feel uneasy. These pictures of soldiers move the government to sternly request the nations of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Namibia join South Africa to assure their independence. Massive amounts of aid, with almost full autonomy being offered, as well as the opportunity to have a referendum following the turbulence of recent events. South Africa would bring these nations up to first world standards, and see them ready to defend themselves from whatever storm may come. All reserves in the nation (numbering about 1.2 million) are to be pressed into uniform on a moments notice, and are currently being armed and trained. Requests to speak to the Caliph are sent quickly, but coolly, simply hoping to assure the safety of the southernmost area's of the continent. Immigrant workers are given massive amounts of work in the way of war preparations, with production of defenses all across the land almost quintupled from an already quick pace. The shipyards are constantly working, with advanced submarines and other anti-seacraft ships being the priority. A closer examination of the army will be underway, should conflict appear inevitable. In a bid not to provoke any trouble, none of the nations that hold good relations with South Africa are approached by her. One can only hope that the Caliphate has no intention on infringing upon South African sovereignty. In regards to the CSA, South Africa is horrified (silently) at the timing of the acceptance of the deal, but it is not undone, and South Africa embrace's the opportunity to have an arms deal opened up, to arm the potential future soldiers of the nation. Training is also accepted for the reservists, but this move is seen as quite unpopular and provocative by the Xenophobic Zulu's of the East. As for the offer to join TRAC, the only comment given on the subject is that it's too early and reactionary for South Africa to commit to something of the sort. They do not shut down talks completely, though. Requests to speak to Japan specifically of the Far Eastern Empire are drafted up too, hoping that they can help assure South Africa's future safety in regards to the Caliphate. Elon Musk waits anxiously for a reply from them both, hoping that this all is just an overreaction. The engineers in The South American Federation see the epicenters of the country refitted, but it is unclear whether they will be needed back in the country in the near future. They will stay until a general reform of the country's wasteful/less green ways are done.
  10. South Africa Research on terraforming (17 pages) and the Grand Colonial ship (9 pages) is well underway, with a response from Japan, now the Far Eastern Empire, on the possibility of working on cutting edge radiation resistance and clean up strategies. The Grand Colonial ship's designs, now being influenced by some of the finest Greek scientists, are reworked to have several defensive systems, such as the dome to house the colony now having the ability to retract, only to have on site defences ready to blast any incoming debris, or, as the nation most certainly hope is just a wild worry, an attack from another ship. Lower levels of the ship, originally planned to house a majority of the ships on board life systems, weapons systems, and everything else, also have space made in case of emergency, so that people may stay there if necessary. The space station meant to assemble the ship is almost complete, it too getting very serious redesigns to incorporate several weapons systems. This will be free to use for the Greek's when it is finished. Rearmament of the South African forces are still underway, with Greek weaponry and vehicles starting to replace the less powerful South African counterparts. Better armour is issued, as well as weaponry. The expansion of Cape Town's harbors and other works is largely finished, and numerous ships are now in the making. Other coastal cities are still behind, and the army still is quiet on recruitment, still boasting a measly half million maximum of active personnel nation wide, much to the economy of South Africa's benefit. Australia is approached privately on the matter of Alaska, as Elon Musk personally sends a quick letter on the view of the nation (which at this point, is largely his) on the matter: "You fought to liberate it from the Russian's, but ought to give it to the American's. Don't make bitter relations with them, for they, and Canada, will forever be valuable allies. Though we will not act in a public medium, we are vehemently against any intention to hold them from their brothers for material gain." Botswana's population booms. but by how much is unclear how much it is by. Cities are expanded towards the sky to accommodate for these people, and to help add to the sense of grandeur that South Africa has to offer the newly acquired provinces. When the number of immigrants exceeds 1 000 000 people, the nation of South Africa will approach Zimbabwe to join as 3 provinces, using its own people as a prime example of the benefits of joining, to better the chances of their assimilation. With a population that is nearly at 25 million this day and age though, saving the country may cause humanitarian efforts outside of the country to seize up. (mod plz) Solar energy farms are also built in the vast Kalahari desert of Botswana, and South Africa begins to sell this excess energy for extremely cheap, hoping to have it become a diplomatic bonus to the country. South Africa also announces an interest in co-operating with other countries in scientific projects, hoping to better relations while also progressing further towards the future. It also makes clear that if there is anything it can do to better relations in any way, with any other sovereign nation, to please inform its leadership, so that there is a better chance at mutual prosperity. (Skype for that.)
  11. South Africa The people of South Africa rejoice, celebrations being held often, despite the turbulence of the world. Most are feeling particularly righteous about the massive amounts of aid sent to Britain, Iberia, Germany and Greece in particular. The people are festive, with these celebrations rubbing off on the 2 new provinces that made up the old country of Botswana, despite limited to no assistance in these efforts. Infrastructure in the new territories of South Africa are being reworked, and her cityscapes made more beautiful and green. Military bases are set up across the land, as well as numerous bunkers and factories to better ready it in case of invasion. It's very limited military forces are merged into the larger SAA, and are used as the garrisons of major cities, whilst the larger South African forces take up the more remote installations to help the less welcoming Botswanese not feel intruded upon. Brightwood Defense Corporation is welcomed into the country, and offices are prepared for it in the very large (and safe) city of Gabarone, with barracks being built in the countryside to house their men. More accommodations are offered, but will only be given if accepted, including research facilities. Gabarone and Francistown in Botswana are revolutionized: Giant skyscrapers are in the works, and find themselves with a blank check for events and building plans. It is hoped that this wows Namibia, and would change the countries mind for when it's re-approached considering its joining. The borders of Botswana are also kept open; the law on immigration to the two provinces being turned into provincial laws, so that the more Xenophobic South Africa proper does not have to deal with the Zimbawean immigrants. This is hoped to see Botswana's measly 3 million population explode, as the borders are largely left open to anyone that can prove intense poverty (A rampant problem in Zimbabwe). These migrating citizens will also be used as leverage in a future approach to join the country as well. Homes and work are offered to these immigrants as well. (Mod explain how this goes perhaps?) Greece's offering of technology for the aid that was received is met in return with several engine designs that run on bio fuel and electricity, as well as many energy efficient alternatives in building designs (that are conscious of hazards, such as earthquakes and terror attacks) from some of South Africa's finest architects and engineers. A cheep way of producing solar panels is also offered, as well as a proposal to team up on the grand colonial ship research. In regards to Japan, they accept the offer to join in together in a research program, suggesting radiation clean up and protection, in light of the disaster in Europe, and also in regards to the radiation issues of space. They also announce the are happy to work with any other nations that Japan approves of with the project, and begin to trade off some of its many products. Huge navy yards are being built on ever coastal city now, as the city begins to ramp up production of naval vessels. Using Greek designs, tanks and planes are also finding themselves produced - something South Africa has largely lacked. No effort is made to recruit more men, but service is still open to recruitment for now. Even the most remote military stations are being better outfitted for defense, as the nation wishes not to expand military, but rather solidify. As always, offers are left open to whomever to begin trade. In light of the South American Federations attempt to go green, an offer is extended to have engineers go oversee's and begin the construction of solar panels across the nation, as well as wind farms in the far south - in exchange for large amounts of timber. These engineers would also be willing to teach South American men and women the how to make the cutting edge, highly productive solar panels (and possibly other green energy producers, such as advanced tidal turbines) for a prolonged, steady supply of timber.
  12. +1 Hilarious joke. Also, Norman happens to be a wonderful RPer, as well as a really agreeable guy. I'd be surprised if you ever had an issue with him, considering he's always mucho coolio whenever I talk to him. Level headed as heck, too.
  13. +1 This guy's all about busting his butt, going the extra mile on everything. I'd love to see him kicking about, making events happen, considering he's an awesome RPer (to say the least). Also, GMTer's are always freaking out about a lack of events and such, and having a GMT ET would help that out a lot I reckon!
  14. South Africa Several years have passed since South Africa stirred on the world stage, and to her greatest benefit. Elon Musk, since his opening up the country, turned inward again to deal with the new provinces of Swaziland and Lesthoso. A burden they were, but gems they have become: Swaziland's agricultural sector received an explosive boom, and with marijuana legalized throughout the entirety of the nation, its cash crop only helped it secure its place. Cities were largely reworked to meet the very green living standards imposed by Elon Musk, and soon, saw themselves going from a province making only 1/5th of the wealth Cape Town did, to a respectable GDP, only a few million short of the average. Lesthoso surprised the republic pleasantly, almost working as putty in the hands of the government. Much of the land was made public, as they hoped this would secure development by the President. These lands seen themselves turned into great farms, factories, and cities, to feed, enfranchise and house the masses of this land. The people co-operate un-cannily in the face of the overwhelming aid provided the first 3 years, and now see's itself one of the few lucky places to have a national space station. Working with the Imperium and Australia, unique new and cutting edge space facilities are built, Elon Musk putting to practice much of what SpaceX - his legendary private space company turned South African space program - into action. With an intense focus on making trips cheap and affordable, work is underway for a grand project: It would not only bring settlers to space, but be able to shelter them, and act as an excellent jump off point to colonize where they land, though it is unclear when the first of these ships will be built. Offers are made to aid South Africa in this attempt - the reward negotiable. (Mod please) During these years, Elon Musk has secured a second term, but this time, with an overwhelming majority. Impressed with how he's turned what were two huge immigration factors into useful tools, as well as seeing the country open up to the world and remain fierce and independent, they hope he now shoots for the stars - literally - and see the country become a leader, and not just a follower, in the events to come. Extensive work has also been done on coastal defence works, but the mainland military remains, still, at roughly 400 000 active servicemen, to avoid putting a great deal of strain on the country. In response to the Imperium's request for aid, a ridiculous tonnage of food, water, as well as numerous medical personnel and other aid workers are sent across her lands, with little to no warning, as they try to do their best in supporting those in need. An offer to send people to South Africa for relocation away from zones too irradiated is extended, even if it is to only get rid of those who are useless to the nation in its state. In regards to a quiet deal made with the Imperium, factories refitted to create LIONCUB rifles work double time to see the armies refitted, as to compensate a little for the disastrous effect of plummeting numbers may have on the country, but price of the weaponry is not lowered, but open to renogotiation. Elon Musk approaches the relatively first world Botswana and Namibia to join South Africa as well, both as two provinces each, considering their very small populations. Offers to reverse the effects of desertification (to a degree) as well as numerous benefits that were offered to Lesthoso and Swaziland are also offered to these two countries, with more of an emphasis on making the current capitals of both remarkable and beautiful like Pretoria and Cape Town. Elon hopes they join, sweetening the pot every way he can to ensure their solidity: Many South African's are afraid of a future invasion being launched from one of its bordering countries, and hopes to make them secure, and thusly, South Africa secure. An offer of aid, in any form is needed, is sent all across Europe, and to the now fractured Russian state(s). Elon hopes to create a dialogue with the many republics of the old Russia, if only to prove they have any government, in hopes that they do not degenerate into nothing. It is suspected that these republics are far, FAR more dangerous to the worlds stability than a unified Russia by Elon. Japan is called on by Elon himself to also assist these humanitarian efforts, as well as Australia, and China. Elon also prods the The Commonwealth of Africa, hoping to draft a formal alliance to secure Sub-Saharan Africa from any potential threats. All American states - Including South American ones - find itself a request for an open dialogue, in hopes to secure peaceful relations between South Africa and themselves. Hopes are high that the CSA responds, as there is hope to use the Panama canal, and thus have a more convenient route to the Dominion of California can be opened, and in turn, make possible another friendship. South Africa reminds all nations of its openness to talks, and does well to remind that i has much in the way of resources to be offered to her allies. Research begins on true de-desertification methods - True terraforming - for use on earth and in space. It is unclear how close the nation is to a break through (Would like a mod for this too, afraid to PG). This is coupled with research on weapons that would be relevant for defense from the air and sea, as well as projects to put the anti tank/vehicle weaponry up to snuff. (Would like mod to determine this as well). Elon Musk now waits... Looking out quietly for responses. EDIT: South Africa also begins to intensify its nations athletic program, hoping to better prepare itself for this coming Olympic games! (For any who need it for talks, my skype is JamesPHFraser)
  15. Publius, having served almost all his adult life in the war against the Dwarves, is overwhelmed reading the publication. "By God, peace was attainable? We have peace? How could... I can't believe it!" He sets down his copy, looking out the window of his office, looking off in deep thought, his face reddening and his eyebrows furrowing as he's overwhelmed with joy. He can't help but smile broadly. "May it last, for both our nation's sake."
  16. (mfw I read the comments) Publius would nod, smiling broadly. "About time we finally got that land into our fold!"
  17. Publius would crack up if he ever heard anything like this. "I'm sure if the Dwarves were literate, they'd write down their peoples history and preach their praises too!"
  18. Maybe the lore team needs to consult some good human lore writers, clear the air of any confusion and see to fixing the lore so that it works, rather than smash what has been in use for so long, and important to human lore for a long time? If the lore team is recruiting, maybe it's about time some humans joined.
  19. Patriotism. Piety. Humanity. The Royal Chancery: This following document was drafted by Matthias de Lyon on the 12th of Snow’s Maiden, 1500, to commemorate the rise of a new century under the banner of a recently reformed Oren. It was submitted to the Chancery for publishing, after its revision and assessment by His Honour, Publius Bracchus, and issued upon the 14th of Sun's Smile, 1504. Many copies are made for public consumption. Matthias de Lyon on ‘Patriotism. Piety. Humanity’: The birth of a new state, a new superpower, a new Oren, inaugurated in its God-given right to usher in the dawn of a new century under a recently-lofted banner, is not imputed to the work of a simple few high lords and noblemen, but rather upon the common work of Man as a whole. There is one trait in particular that lifts Humanity above the dozens of lesser masses that oppose her at every corner: Faith. Whether it be in the state, or in God, the importance of our beliefs can never exaggerated. If Humanity were to abandon their faith in either - would the Creator’s favor, which we’ve worked so ardently to attain, be lost? Would we have ever vassalized the Elven peoples, or dominated the dwarf in their halls of stone? Oren is a blessing, maintained only by our diligence and faith. In lands abroad, foreign warlords give gold and resources to immoral hoards of opportunistic mercenaries. In Oren, there is no need for such endeavours; men fight not for pay, only for the honor of furthering Orenic goals. This principle is the foundation of the Common Man’s disposition. A fire burns bright within his heart and so he fulfills his role for Oren, and needs no further inspiration from coin. Is this not evidenced most vividly by the fact that since the rise of King Andrew, the descendants of Malin, once destroyed by St. Thomas of Gaekrin’s prophetic blade, have fallen to the quill of King Olivier while the Dwarven menace is left shattered by the fighting fervour of Orenic soldiery? This fundamental patriotism, however, describes not only the warrior that risks his life on the field of battle, but also the man that toils in the field or in the mill for his liege lord. Where would our noble nation be without the men that make up our backbone?- providing food, armor, weapons, and materials in the name of progress and Orenic industry. Patriotism is the key to a unified Humanity. However, it is not simply faith in the state that leads Humanity in the direction of overwhelming victory, but also the oft-performed worship of God. It is by His grace and guiding light that Humanity should remain unified against a common foe. Has not the success over Elvenkind eventuated under the reign of a man named Fidei Defensor for his achievements in the Canonist War; the only man other than the High Pontiff himself who is granted permission to call a crusade. The success of Man is only amplified, assuredly, with this renewed faith in Him and His grace, as Humanity continues to place their imprint upon the world. The common Man finds hope not only in the arms of the state, but also in the arms of God. Piety is the key to a unified Humanity. A unified Humanity is the key to success.
  20. Publius shrugs, smiling broadly. "Just as intimidating, sophisticated, and Orenian as the de Bolbec's. Hail to both these houses, and to the men who have been informed what the people of Oren want by those as tall as toddlers, and are wise enough to act!"
  21. yo firstly, what's the craziest rp experience you've ever had? Also opinion on me/my char?
  22. South Africa President Elon Musk replies to the leader of the Commonwealth of Afrika, very warm to the idea of a visit. He suggests a route that would be well received, hoping to start and end in Cape Town. He goes further, making a public comment that he would be honored to house such a guest in his country, comparing him (controversially to some extreme reclusionists) to Nelson Mandela, having fought against the odds and illness for his people. He also suggests coming to Cape Town for the opening night of his biopic, and also to hold a speech promoting closer ties, should he be interested. This comes with an invite to speak with the president, Elon Musk, concerning the possibility of furthering an relations. (Skype) Money is also soon found flooding the new provinces of Lesthoso and Swaziland. Lesthoso happens to be quite the burden, as it seems the country was in total economic and productive collapse. It may take about 5 years before it actually breaks even, rather than drains South African resources. The military forces of both nations are merged with the South African forces, but many are cut, further hindering the South African attempt to properly assess its army. An important meeting is held with Britannia and Australia, ensuring a trade deal, and further strengthening of diplomatic ties. South Africa also chooses to participate in the Olympics, but there is no national pressure on the athletes, just loads of support in the way of fans, and extra money invested into sporting programs.

  24. South Africa The beautiful country of South Africa has seen much change since the early 21st century. As the riots concerning immigration in 2015 only blew up into a larger, more deadly civil issue, the government began to relent unto the demands of the xenophobic and deadly masses: A policy that has not been changed since. South Africa became reclusive, watching as events unfold almost without interest as interest turned inward, not out. Over the many years that nations have spent in deadly conflict, the men and women worked hard to secure their homeland: Advances in irrigation, using alternative energy, and work to prevent desertification have left South Africa independent. Xenophobia has also lead the nation to create a complex defense network, with many anti aircraft systems and land fortifications in place of a large standing military. Major stationary defenses can be found in nearly any city, and every mountain and cliff side now sporting dusty, unused bomb shelters. Insecurity along the coast has also lead for the creation of many high velocity, high accuracy guns/artillery to be developed as well, supported by highly advanced sensory technology. Not much of interest has happened in South Africa since its final tie with the outside world - relations with the old commonwealth - dissolved, after the extremely nationalistic, and largely xenophobic government of the nation was approached with the offer to join The Imperium Britainia. Resources are continually stockpiled, with non-perishable items like gold, and other raw materials reaching an absurd tonnage. Food is even plentiful enough to be converted into bio-fuels, and has become the main fuel source for most pedestrian and transport vehicles across the country. A recent election has rocked the country though, with Elon Musk, a now old celebrity inventor and entrepreneur, emerging as the country's president, with hopes of reopening South Africa to the world. He is quick to make an unexpected address to the world: "With a world so drowned in conflict, I wish to extend a hand to any and all, offering the uncommon alternative: A chance for mutual prosperity. We are now ready to trade freely with any nation willing, and you can rest assured that come hell or high water, you have a business partner with anything you may find yourself lacking." The impoverished, landlocked countries of Lesthoso and Swaziland are offered the opportunity to join South Africa as provinces, and thus share in some of the countries wealth, industry, and infrastructure in return, with pressure put on Lesthoso especially, as people become paranoid about this country in the heart of their nation. A detailed review of the countries military is underway, the number of active servicemen, including defense engineers, numbers only in the early 300 000's: Active Servicemen: Regular armed forces: 140 000 Engineering corps: 67 000 Naval security corps: 50 000 Homeland security (Military Police of Sorts): 50 000 Total: 307 000 active servicemen Inactive Servicemen: Reserves: 147 000 Information on the country's serviceable vehicles is to be released soon. (Summary: A resource rich South Africa is looking to open a dialogue and trade with any and all!)
