Sad reality of modern nation politics that Discord is the META so you're immediately at a 'disadvantage' (where nation leading is nowadays competitive with regards to activity and rallying, all without mentioning the sad reality of timezone coordination for RPers) to other nations without it. At least Skype was inefficient enough that it didn't make as much of a difference and wasn't anywhere near as necessary for leadership as it is now, which is why 'OOC leadership' was much less common (though still done). My advice is to keep the discord and delete minecraft to turn LoTC into a text based RP community; the true antichrist.

I’d say your answer lies in the lore:
Everyone (provided they’re a descendant born on the material plane) is able to read and understand the symbols at a base level, in the same way everyone with sight is able to understand a painting’s subject from an artist using realism as their technique, regardless of that individual’s ability to read or a shared language with the artist.
That doesn’t mean, therefore, that everyone knows what the symbols are, how many there are or what they each mean etc. This also applies in the ability write the symbols in an appropriate manner. Imagine if people could only read in Times New Roman. You might’ve seen a word written in Times New Roman, sure, but chances are when you try and write it yourself it’s going to be in Comic Sans or Calibri unless you have an in-depth understanding of the words and the alphabet they’re formed from.
If you’re intending for your character, therefore, to be able to write and utilise the Material Alphabet then your character is going to have to either be a currently accepted (or former) Further Alchemist, Rune Smith, Blood Mage, Elemental Shaman or practitioner of Voidal Feeling and is going to have to discover and teach themselves the symbols through experimentation and trial and error (bearing in mind there are ninety symbols at present and not all of them are applicable to each field mentioned – for instance, a blood mage will easily pick up on the symbols as they’re given the inherent ability to understand Blood Runes when they touch a blood shard, and these runes in turn are identical to many in the Material Alphabet, but there is no blood rune for ‘Push’, meaning a blood mage would be unlikely to uncover that letter from the material alphabet on their own. The inverse applies for Runesmiths, and a different scenario arises with Elementalists who wouldn’t really have any business studying the non-elemental runes) or they’re going to have to be taught how to properly use the symbols by someone already versed.

Hello! I haven’t posted in a while, but I feel that I need to bring up my klone lore, as I hear it’s been circulating in spite of all the other lore being shelved. I’d simply like it to be known on here-- where someone who doesn’t know me can see for themselves-- that as its creator I don’t support its continued use.

Almost 2 years ago I submitted an overly convoluted, poorly balanced and worse planned out rewrite to Dark Shamanism. Some time around March 2018 I asked for this lore to be pulled and was turned down. It is still a circulated magic to this day whether I like it or not.
That’s just the way the cookie crumbles, friendo. You’ll live.

@Teegah get players permission to use /getpos so we can find our co-ordinates whilst downed (since you can't exit the chatbox to do F3) so we can find our stuff pls. It'd be a small change that'd go a long way.

Is roleplaying as a chicken allowed?

Parion - Padmé
Emperor Horen - Palpatine
Orsino Acal'elor - Anakin
The Silver Council - The Jedi Order (Post Order 66)
Obi-Wan - HERP Playerbase Right Now -
I'm not the only one that feels as though having every nation but Haria be suddenly dominated or dissolved by Oren in the space of a week is going to get very stale very quickly, am I?
Like, Imperialism is cool but at the end of the day combat is the lifeblood of the server and without a protagonist or any nations left to fight eachother (alongside the already declining player base) I can't see Emperor of the Craft lasting too long. It's a messy situation and I have no clue how it can be handled.
-
@Flapman I'm not asking for anything OOC to be done, however the simple facts are that this IC will have (and to some degree is already having) an OOC effect on people's desire to play. I just hope something is sorted soon trough RP before player bases start dying like the Orcs

And @zaezae and @HurferDurfer1 you think rebellion or collapse is actually likely to succeed or occur? I mean the empire isn't dependant on its vassals in the slightest.

So until I can get my computer fixed (won't run anything) I am taking up a D&D campaign. I am playing a Halfing Druid for the sole purpose of being a beastmaster rider. DM is allowing freedom with my mount choice. Ideas?

I'd really appreciate some community feedback on my rewrite (with some nerfing) to Anti Magic as well as an addition made here:
if there's any questions or comments you'd like to make feel free to comment on the thread!

So the Warhawkes apparen't aren't the most active Dark Elf nation... I can't help but feel that that's untrue, considering every time I've visited them (pre and post transition) I've been met by a minimum of around eight players RPing actively, whereas In all of Vailor I found over three people in Ebonglade twice. That said, I haven't seen much of the new Ker'nor to judge.

@Jake!
This isn't 'shitting on the Dark Elf community'. I'm relatively convinced what Mosue is saying is in sarcastic agreement; The point of this post is to acknowledge what Kry is saying.

If GMs could not complete modreqs from offline players, that'd be great.

Whatever happened to player events from the ET? There's no bounty boards, you're not allowed to request events anymore and you're not allowed to be informed on upcoming ones. The only events i've seen recently have been either admin ran or staff only. And that, Lord of the Craft, is what grinds my gears.
