  2. Sitting in the girl's room within his home. The 'aheral thought of the times they spent genuinely happy. Before her untimely decisions. When she was truly just a naïve girl.

He would leave her bed as she left it. The room as she intended. A single candle being blown out as if he were only leaving it be for her prompt return.

Yet another loss. And not enough time to grieve.

  3. 2 minutes ago, Unwillingly said:

I agree that for conflict like CRP or PvP birds should be stricly disallowed in exchange for a better method of getting aid, but for something casual such as meeting up with your buddies in roleplay for a chat about whatever, it shouldn't be a hassle

Couldn't have said it better. It's just a fun roleplay tidbit that otherwise shouldn't be used in something that actually matters.

  4. "You are true - A true Elverhilin. Maruthir. One of the free ones who lived away from the foolish infighting of the family."

And though he could not help but blame Tahlia for the man's passing. He knew deep down that it was inevitable. A good man, out to preserve the balance the three of them so earnestly believed in. And though his disdain for the woman still remain. He beckoned himself to forgive. It was not her fault, it would never be her fault.

Zolvan was good. Zolvan was just. He was the guiding figure the 'aheral needed to continue down the righteous path. Their moments together, as not just cousins, but brothers - Would forever be placed in good memory.

Fighting in general is foolish. It is healing that is worthwhile.

From now, onward. The druid could only uphold to his cousin's mission. To preserve and protect. But to not let go of what makes one a descendant: foolishness, selfishness, and desire.  For they are only natural.

"I suppose? I never really considered myself so."

    Creator's RP Name:

             N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Unlike their kin, the ratkiki, musin are quaint in size and demeanor. They carry a lifespan of up to seventy years. Maturity being reached by the age of fifteen.

In terms of size, musin generally range from 1'8" to 2'6". As in terms of appearance, they are as follows: Covered in fur from head to toe, per the exception of not having coverage on the tail, innards of the ear, and the nose. Their fur often ranges in color. From brown, black, grey, tan, white, or any combination of. They also possessing black eyes. Red being a rarer alternative. As in contrast to their small frames, musin have large shelled ears that grant them superior hearing. (Especially when compared to the descendants) As well as teeth. That can be filed down by actively chewing on bits of wood.

Because of their size, musin are limited in combat ability. They are unable to wield any descendant weapon, as they are too large for the musin. However, music will opt for smaller versions of common wields. In addition to blowdarts and small bows. Though their size gives them an advantage in terms of being able to dodge enemies. Making them hard to hit. Otherwise, any good blow to any musin would be deadly. Their bodies, as mentioned before, being unable to withstand the force of.

Because of their physical limitations, musins are generally pasifistic in nature. They will choose to hunt, gather, tinker, cook, build, and clean. As adverse to actively participating in combat of any form. However, musin have an inclination towards 'borrowing' something that is not in use. Especially if it shows signs of having not been used for an extensive period of time.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Pansy is a young musin of 1'10". With slick, white and grey fur. Like her sister, she has a patch of black fur over her eye, albeit on the right eye instead of the left. Though she is far more girly than her counterpart. Pansy trying for clothing that are often more "put together", and "proper." With pastel pinks, blues, and greens being her most favored. She also is far more plump, because of her addiction to all things sweet and savory.

    BRIEF HISTORY

The family was founded by Hua Lian, the wife of a simple farmer under the rule of the Hou-Zi in the aftermath of the Li empire’s downfall, she was described as a fierce and strong woman humbled by the social structure of Li-Guo. When her husband was killed by the worst of their rulers, Hua Lian was one of the first to take up arms and aid in the joint uprising against the Hou-Zi. In her hate for their foreign rulers, she took up weaponsmithing to supply the rebel armies with quality broadswords, sabers, and spears. Her efforts in the uprising were realized, and at the beginning of the third era, was given the right to act as the matriarch of her own minor noble family with a name of her choice. The name she picked was ‘Wen’, to remind herself and all those born in the family of the importance of their culture, and their symbol was a red dragon to match her fierceness.

Over the next four hundred years after Wen Lian’s passing, the Wen family gradually lost influence and their numbers splintered, considered noble only by blood relation with the first Wen, yet treated no higher than middle-class citizens. They maintained great wealth through weaponsmithing, but their numbers dropped throughout the years, most becoming faraway wanderers. Only a few Wen were present to witness the second downfall of Li-Guo.

    COMING OF AGE

The Coming of Age ceremony precedes the age of Wen Lian. A practice that was adopted by the matriarch's forefathers. Whose purpose was to introduce a matured individual to society.

The ceremony encompasses three main rites: "The Naming", "The Painting," and "The Rising." All of which represent the three stages of the Soaring Dragon. The red dragon was picked by Wen Lian herself.

    Spoiler

    The Naming
The Naming is the first of the three rites. In which the Wen is introduced in veils of white. As they are mourning the loss of their youth. Though wholefully optimistic to embrace the comings of adulthood. And all that it entails. Upon completion of this rite, the individual will have received their courtesy name. A calling representative of their life to be.

    The Painting
The Painting is the second of the three rites. The Wen is surrounded by their family and painted with the colors of Wen. It is then that they are told to kneel to a totem of Wen Lian. To which they bestowed her marking, the Soaring Dragon, rising to the red sun.

    The Rising
The Rising is the third of the three rites. Like the Soaring Dragon, the Wen rises above the sun, ready to take on a new chapter. For their achievement, they are gifted an avian specially picked by an Elder Wen to accompany them from then on.

    THE FIVE ARTS

    mNOrHzsdiFt9WiarvrkrZqZQHEF3zJbtOsd9y1hZVWaRo1HgXxrLtIMgJ7Uo6H2TXWHRSa7PaHsMbJ7Z5KsWwCddYjn_LREkSyFa67cT-2k515qnqh6CjcYCD3ecQVqanfvt71a6

Originally ‘The Four Arts’, they are a set of skills compiled by Wen Lian’s sons, Wen Feng and Wen Wushi after the family was properly integrated into the lifestyle of aristocracy, an additional art was added later on by the descendent of Wen Feng decades later. The four arts were made to up Wen’s standings by presenting themselves as sophisticated among their peers, the fifth one was added out of financial necessity. The arts are taught either by the family elders or hired professionals, each given a minimum of 3 years to master the art before moving to another.

In the early decades of Wen’s nobility, youths start learning the arts at the early age of 5 until their coming of age ceremony. The Wen today treats this tradition as optional due to its importance diminishing when the Li-Ren empire fell. It is ideal to put a child in the path at the age of 5 still, but are not allowed to continue at the expense of the family after they reach the age of 20 and perform their coming of age ceremony, though some exceptions were made depending on the individual.

    Spoiler

The five arts are as follows:

    Yīnyuè (音乐)
Meaning ‘Music’. Music in the Wen has always been seen as one of the purest forms of elegance in the culture and is often the first art to be taught to the youth before moving onto the rest. The instrument often used was the guqin, a seven-stringed zither, but the selection of instruments has expanded throughout the years to the pipa, dizi, and erhu.

    Qí (棋)
Meaning ‘Chess’. Strategy is an important skill, and those that excel in the skill are usually given important roles in the family, sometimes furthering their education after their coming of age so that they would become scholars or government officials to represent the Wen family. Strategic board games such as wéiqí(圍棋) are used to train and bring out the child’s potential and is especially important in the Wen today.

    Shūfǎ (书法)
Meaning ‘Calligraphy’. Li-Ren calligraphy is said to be an expression of a practitioner’s poetic nature, as well as a significant test of manual dexterity. While its importance in the Wen family now is little, it is still practiced out of tradition.

    Huà (画)
Meaning ‘Painting’. Brush painting is the finer form of art expected of the youth to learn before the coming of age, it is considered the greatest measure of individual creativity and representation. Most Wen are artists to some degree, with their own form of style.

    Shùxué (数学)
Meaning ‘Mathematics’. Mathematics was added later on by a descendent of Wen Feng, Wen Sizhui. The Wen family’s standing diminished decades later after Wen Lian’s passing, losing land and influence. A rise in weaponsmiths happened within the family to keep a constant financial flow, requiring mathematicians to keep track and maximize on the market.

MEI-XU - THE WEN MARTIAL ART

    mFnvEEVV8L-SoouSQqR8_T5qudDm9EooB_b4zht-GNOaq9HTUN3OjkAPHpFm-i_3GmlbfCceenZq5dhxCyvrlwjUPWdut4U5pVnATx_VDgl5UQ4qmYyUwJt-N-WxQSS4cKTus5hK

Wen Mei, a prominent figure in the history of Wen, was the strongest among her family during her time. She joined as a soldier to Li-Guo and eventually rose to become a martial instructor in a very short time. Her fierceness in a fight was compared to the family’s eternal matriarch Wen Lian, even given the nickname of ‘The Dragon’s Flames’ by her family members. However, while her martial prowess was known by many, only one man by the name of Shi Xu managed to peer past her tough exterior and into her heart.

As soulmates, Wen Mei and Shi Xu went on to develop their kind of martial art that required two to perform, utilizing the coordination of the pair to maximize defense, offense, or a mix of the two.

Shi Xu died of disease shortly after their martial art was perfected, and Wen Mei in her grief, suicided. The patriarch of that time decided to immortalize the pair’s story by adopting the martial art they developed into Wen tradition and named it ‘Mei-Xu’.

    ETERNAL MATRIARCH WEN LIAN

Throughout the existence of Wen, multiple occasions lead to the loss of scrolls that detailed important events of Wen’s history, one of the notable ones was about the last years under Wen Lian’s matriarchy.

Started by the fifth generation patriarch, it is believed that Wen Lian did not die, and had attained immortality, taking back the familial name of her first husband and the form of a dragon before fully ascending, forever watching over her children from above.

It is because of this belief that none shall ever be above Hua Lian, and that she will always be sole and ‘Eternal Matriarch.’

    ATTAINING IMMORTALITY

It is believed that just like their matriarch, a member can attain immortality as well, and to them, this has been proven multiple times through the still living Wen Ling, Wen Huaisang, Wen Chenmei, and Wen Ai, all of whom are over at least two hundred years of age with a youthful exterior.

The exact process of attaining immortality is unknown, but it is believed that mastering the five arts and martial art is the key to ascension.

    Weaponsmithing
The most common trade for a Wen to pick. Weaponsmithing has been the main source of income for the Wen family, some even take it further and create original weapon designs, such as the fan blade. Among the notable family members who practiced weaponsmithing are Wen Lian, the eternal matriarch, and Wen Kexing, the current Almarian patriarch.

    Alchemy
The second most common trade, equally practiced by both the males and females of the family. Those that take on the profession are taught to make poultice, brew toxins, antitoxins, and anything else that is available. Among one of the notable alchemists in the family is Immortal Wen Ai, revered for her hand in medicine and is said to be capable of healing any wound, and curing any disease.

Despite weaponsmithing and alchemy being the most common professions practiced in the family, members adhere to nothing in particular, they are free to practice whatever they want, be it in medicine, blacksmithing, or other forms of arts.
