Ruminations on a Marble Corpse
Morigung-oog replied to Ferd0207's topic in Silver City of Taliyu'lin
"The dead horse is not merely beaten, it is beaten into a bloody pulp well beyond the point of recognition." Valithael uttered. The former commander and Okarir'maehr under Othelu Orrar smiled at the quote used. "This is nation necromancy at this stage." -
I deadass felt so much better after quitting. If you feel better after giving something up, it wasn't ever really a good thing to begin with. I'm proud of you, Jihsoo and I wish you all the best :)

Valithael rolled her eyes upon reading this. Even after years of not engaging with those of Aos and Eos, another inevitable Raelorn overstep came as no surprise to her.

This came as a suggestion from multiple scion players.

Was Peace Too High A Price To Ask?
Morigung-oog replied to PrinceTheDM's topic in The Serene Vale of Wynlomere
[Private letter, do not metagame.] No wingbeat announces the arrival of Valindra's seldom-seen courier Crow. One moment the air is empty, the next it is simply there, perched upon the window sill of Elijah's room in the dead of night. It lingered, as pale as frost and as silent as the grave, depositing a single envelope emblazoned with the jet-black seal that the 'aheral had come to recognise over the decades they'd exchanged correspondence. It observes Elijah with eyes enveloped in a ghostly mist, letting down its guard to hop around playfully only when the letter had been accepted. And then, the moment Elijah turned his sights from the phantasmal corvid to the note provided, it vanishes... @PrinceTheDM -
"I won't defend Haelun'or, but I will defend that I personally had no aggressive intentions against Galahad, and instead my mongrel of a nephew decided he wished to play Emperor or Elvenkind." The 'fenn droned lifelessly from her bed, having succumbed to the same sickness seemingly as the Imperial family. "The Bronze Tyrant will eventually fall, with or without my interference."

returned from my hiatus briefly to +1 this.

I feel like if this is the standard, almost every magic should be considered evil.
-
A lot of dark magics don't offer the potential to be neutral. Naz and Necro lock a persona into an inherently evil path; Mystic and blood magic allow for a more neutral path which imo I really appreciates as it promotes far more creativity when making a character. Blood magic, like mystic, is only evil imo depending on how a character chooses to utilise it. Also ngl I'm of the firm belief that outside Naz and Necro [which are impossible to justify] every magic should offer potential for a neutral or even good path. Railroading people down wicked paths for certain niches is cringe. Was also told by ST that dark magic is not dark because it is evil, but because it draws upon mortal energies. Dark does not necessarily equate to evil. Same goes for deific as the aengudaemons are the absolute embodiment of their domains, for better or for worse-- this means Xan could be oppressive, Tahariae can be genocidal etc.

Darkspawn testing is cringe and a gateway to bad faith encounters. It shouldn't exist.

Lights Under Ildon (LotC DnD Campaign)
Morigung-oog replied to Cjmate's topic in High Kingdom of Idunia
I was going to make a LOTC-inspired dnd campaign- you beat me to it! Very cool! -
A high-ranking member of the Inquisition and advisor to a number of refugee magi groups on the realm did not seem troubled by this notice as much as once might have expected her to be. The time for anger, hate had long since passed. With a soft sigh, the note was folded and tucked into an ever-growing folder nestled among countless others. This one, however, carried a distinct red tab on the edge that set it apart from the rest. "..One would have thought he'd know better than to play these games by now."

A well-known, infamous Fennic rebel looked upon the missive and those invited with that of a faint smirk, remarkably unperturbed upon noting the invite extended to her longtime tormentors. "As much as I loathe them, they do make good meatshields." The knight mused to her husband over her morning tea.

Somewhere, a repentant exorcist stirred. These transgressions against the veil would not stand. Strife readied their thirsting blade.

ragebait used to be believable

Very nice. IC beef aside, the Fennic playerbase have been a longstanding part of the community and I'm very intrigued to see where they take the direction of their roleplay this time. :)

Valithael smiled to her boss a little too knowingly. It seemed she had something to do with this. A final letter was sent to both Lorandil and Hymnal. Very good. I trust you shall both play nice in the future. Do not force my intervention again. -Lots of love, Valindra @acronius_@Mynto

A letter would fall upon the desks of both Hymnal and Lorandil. It is not delivered by courier, rather simply appearing one day, seemingly out of thin air. The contents were stark, direct and brief, yet still somehow conveyed the message intended with a surgical precision. I grow tired of your petty bickering, gentlemen. Resolve your issues or force my hand. Your squabbles are bad for business. -Val @Mynto@acronius_

You know where to find me Turbo. For what it's worth, I'm glad you're here.

A pallid magus inhaled sharply through her nostrils. Of course, the notice was pinned to her board. She gazed over each of the names, some guilty, some victims of circumstance. "... Time to play 'hero' again." Sighed the ancient, impure elf. She knew well that they would not do the same for her; they hadn't before. She was, and always would be a scapegoat. A letter would arrive, delivered to the hands of Lorandil by some invisible, unseeable force. The pristine parchment contained a simple, stark message; a summons. You are hereby summoned to Alduun, by order of Holy Ser Valithael af Bene Lisse. You may bring one ally to accompany you. Your safety shall be guaranteed. Do not keep me waiting.

A discordant choir wept in not-so-solitude, having sensed the Veil's shifting, a soul-- beloved-- passing unto finality. "... Peace, dear Admiral, peace. Know it well and know it at long last. It is a mercy well-deserved." Another trinket was added to her garden of departed friends- gone but never truly forgotten.

An old Pertinaxi loyalist jumped for joy as the armor and symbolism of her ancient allies rose to prominence anew. "We're so back."

"At this point, the dead horse isn't so much beaten as it is reduced to a bloody pulp." An irritated rebel, sworn to eternal vengeance against the mali'fenn grumbled. "Let it die. Even my grandmother agrees you spit upon the legacy of your ancestors." A hand raised instinctively to brush over her own back, and then the back of her own hand, a grimace overtook the traumatized elf's features.
