food for thought, what makes creative writing written by chat GPT so recognizable compared to human writing? how would you describe it as a writing style, and what makes it stick out like a sore thumb in contrast to a platform built on human creativity?

it’s just a general feel i think as others have said. There is a double edged sword where most ai checkers are checking (by ai) for correct punctuation and perfect sentence structure. If you’re writing professionally or with intended works, it will flag as AI. I remember at map start people ran random maplore through ai gen when i spent hours writing various pieces in calls and with the help of people editing, but checkers would confidently boast high percentages of ai fact checking.
It’s not foolproof, it’s just a general way you can tell. Most people don’t write with a rigid and consistent tone and often speed up and slow down mid paragraph to display something. Chat GPT seems to stay at a general broad range if that makes sense and doesn’t tend to show variation or much else other than a focused topic when writing. Personally i don’t think gpt could fully shake that general reading feel it has to it because it’s so instantly identifiable in its current state, whenever it upgrades i think it’s new style will just replace the old in recognizability.
