How did you hear about us?: -A group of my friends play on this server.
What do you think the server will be like? - I am unsure of what to expect, but I hope to have a fun time.

Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

What is roleplaying?: - To assume the identity of another by changing one's behaviour to match the subject's, usually for theatrical purposes or, in this case, entertainment. For example, a historical re-enactment of the Battle of the Somme, in World War 1.

What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is when a player uses information or gained outside of the game, to gain an unfair advantage over other players in-game. For example, stealing a valuable item in-game without searching for it first, after a friend told you exactly where it was over a Skype call.

What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is the unfair use of emotes or actions that cannot be prevented by other players in a roleplaying scenario, allowing a player to become unstoppable or overpowered. For example, "Sylvain impales Gauvz on his blade, before Gauvz has a chance to counter."

What race are they (and sub-race)?: - High Elf

What sex are they?: - Male

How old are they?: - 230

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Sylvein Gillyn was born into an average family of Elven jewellers in the Conclave of Malin. He spent the early parts of his childhood crafting jewellery for his parents, and he was a miserable failure, at best. Every accessory or trinket he attempted to make was flawed, or broken before it could be put on display. Sylvein's father saw him the exact same way that everyone else saw his jewellery, like he was damaged beyond repair. His mother, on the other hand, was constantly trying to find another line of work for her son, whom only revealed his true potential when dealing with the finer arts, such as painting or poetry. However, Sylvein's true passion lay with the art of cartography. He was never happier when he was surrounded by maps of distant lands, and he spent large quantities of his time recreating the works of other cartographers. One day, this all changed when Sylvein suddenly had his world uprooted. His mother had caught Bo'dank, and after just one week of agony and pain, she passed away. Almost immediately after this, Sylvein's father destroyed all of his maps, and forbade him to do anything but craft jewellery, as he had no siblings, and was supposed to take over the family buisness. For this, he detested his father, and continued to ruin anything he crafted, this time on purpose. Eventually, Sylvein's father realized that his son was a lost cause, and threw him out of his home... not that he thought of it as home anymore. That was the last time Sylvein saw his father, as he left the Conclave of Malin, and now wanders the land of Anthos, seeking to compile his own series of maps that contain all of Anthos. He feels that he can allow his mother's spirit to live on in his work, so he strives to make his life's work indisputably perfect.

What are their ambitions?: - To create a detailed map covering every region of Anthos.

Do they have any special skills?: - Sylvein has an incredible memory, and is quite intelligent, allowing him to remember specific landforms or large volumes of information, and recall them at will. He also has a very steady, accurate drawing hand, gained from hours spent recreating maps during his childhood. 

What are their weaknesses?: - Sylvein is weak, and has never so much as held a blade in his entire life, making him useless in combat. He has low immunity against disease, and nearly no resistance to poisons.

Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Standing at 6'8, He is fair-skinned and light haired, standard among High Elves. His eyes are a dark violet. He is often seen wearing a long, pitch-black coat, and a deep-purple cowl, with the hood down.
