Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Roleplaying is stepping into someone else's shoes. You think as they would think and act as they would act. Who you role-play as is an entirely different person from you and you are free to act as your role-play character wo
uld without fear of who you are as a player suffering any consequences (so long as it is fair roleplaying of course)

Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is using knowledge that you as a player know to benefit your character, however your character would not know this information. A simple example is if I were to rp as a five year old child and start talking about the fall of Aegis, I would be meta-gamming. As a player I know undead, but a five year old child would have no possible way of knowing that as it would not of yet been taught history.

Power-emoting: Power-emoting is forcing your characters rp actions on another character without giving them time to react. A very simple example would be

*Bandit bob leaps out behind the unaware traveller and slits his throat before he can turn around* Bandit bob just power-emoted. If he wanted to kill unaware character, he would need their ooc approval and even then he would need to give them time to react, so perhaps jumping out in front of them and telling them to hand over everything or die.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: The names Jonathan Elers, but please, call me Johnny

Current Age: Johnny is currently age 19

Sub-race (if any): Johnny is a mix between Northerner and Southerons, an interesting mix indeed.

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Johnny's father, Christian Elers ran a fairly successful small business. He wasn't exactly rich, but neither was he poor and he and his family lived a mildly luxurious life. He and his wife Hellen Elers were rather old when Jonathan was conceived - unheard of ages of 40 and 35. But, they managed it without any harm to Hellen or their baby boy, Johnny. And so, Johnny Elers was born

Growing up in Abresi was constantly an adventure for Johnny. Ever since he was six  years old he would take to wondering the streets, drinking in the cites secrets. Not that there were many for a six year old to see and understand. None the less, he loved it. At school he was secretly quite intelligent. But this went more or less unnoticed due to his habit of making witty remarks whenever he deemed the moment was right, wether it be to a teacher or student. Some of the students and even other children in Abresi hated him for this and it got him into a few fights.

When Johnny reached 9 years old he started getting involved with his fathers business, and he loved it. He became something of a bookkeeper, recording transactions and deals. It was rather tedious work but it allowed him to be close to his father, while travelling Anthos and so he accepted it. He and his father would laugh together, cry together and they were very close. As a result, his father was the sole person who knew Johnny's deepest desire. To learn magic. Johnny was fascinated by magic and thought that Anthos needed more people like the Wandering Wizards.

His father knew and accepted that his son would not be taking over the family business but both him and Johnny ignore this inevitable fact and just went on with business. It was a happy life. But of course it could not last. When Christian Elers was 56 and Johnny was 13, his father became sick. They summoned various Clerics, Alchemists even Druids but all they could do was prolong the sickness. Some days Christian would seem almost healed and they would be able to laugh together. But the next day he would once again be bed ridden, the sweat rolling down his forehead, a burning fever and all but unable to move.

For 4 years the various healing techniques kept Christian alive. But of course, it could not last, and at the age of 60, Christian Elers passed into the great void. The funeral was perhaps the only time Johnny ever brushed his hair. Various business men and women attended of course, giving condolences and even a few fake tears, but Johnny saw straight through the lies, seeing their greedy grabs for ownership of his fathers business. But at the will reading came the real shock

Christian Elers had disbanded his entire business and left 60% of the resulted minas to Hellen and the other 40% was left to Johnny. 17 year old Johnny didn't care. He couldn't care less for Minas. His desire to learn magic all but disappeared. In one of the many books on magic Johnny had read, he learnt about Necromancy, and he was convinced that his fathers death was the result of a Necromancer PlagueBringer. It was absurd of course, but Johnny needed someone to blame for his fathers death, someone he could find and punish.

He left his mother to grieve and set out, scouring Abresi and later other human settlements he had visited with his father in search of the Necromancer responsible. But, there simply wasn't one. As much as Johnny wanted to believe that SOMEONE was responsible, the fact was that there wasn't. For two years he searched. Anonymous questions regarding necromancer activity. Following countless dead ends. By the end of those two years, Johnny had finally made peace with the simple fact that his father had died of a natural disease and nothing could bring him back. For Johnny, it was as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders when he made peace with that fact. He was joking and making witty remarks more than ever. And the old flame of his desire to learn magic, that had become little more than a dying ember reignited with a burning passion, brighter than ever!

Ambitions for the Future:Johnny's greatest ambition is to learn magic, as shown in his biography. Beyond that, he has little plans for the future. Ideas swirl around in his mind, ideas for making Anthos a better place with his magic, but at 19 years of age, all he can think about is magic.

Personality:Johnny is someone who hides most of his feelings and emotions behind comedy, particularly fear. Even in the bleakest of situations Johnny will crack a joke to lighten the mood. He misses very little and is highly observant. However his comedic and wisecracking nature is not always appreciated, and has been the source of more than one brawl. After getting into a few fights, he is capable of handling himself to a certain degree, but he is far from an expert fighter, rather something of a common brawler, capable of taking care of himself in the common bar fight. Those who do not know him wouldn't know it, but Johnny has a dagger sharp wit, and his real strength comes from brains. He has a curious mind and adventurous mind, and will not let something go until he has reached what he deems to be the absolute truth. But above all else, Johnny is vengeful. Some would consider it a strength, others a weakness but the fact remains that Johnny will not stop on the path of revenge to someone who has greatly wronged him or someone close to his heart.

Skills: Johnny has some skill as a brawler as a result of the fights he got into both as a child, travelling with his father and most of all, when he was seeking for his fathers murder (who in the end didn't exist). But he is hardly a seasoned fighter. In truth, he is more brains than brawn. His eyes miss very little. Not that he has enhanced sight or anything of that absurd sort, he is simply highly observant. He is of at least above average intelligence, even if he rarely shows it behind his witty remarks and comedic nature.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):Johnny has olive skin, no doubt as a result of his mixed heritage. He is tall but somewhat thin. His nose is slightly crooked as a result of being broken more than once. His hair sits above his head untamed and unchecked, a wild light brown shade. He has only ever brushed it once and has never touched it since, besides the odd trim to stop it falling past his eyes and shoulders. His eyes are a pale shade of blue.  The skin I will be using is shown here http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/the-traveler-936074/  as it is the closest representation to Johnny

Any other details you wish to share about your character: Johnny will stop at nothing to find answers. He cares for the safety of others. If I had to put him in an alignment, he would likely be Neutral Good. This is because he is prepared to go a little bit outside the lore to help others, although lore breaking isn't exactly his opening move.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the emperor's palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: Johnny walks briskly to the inn where he was staying. It had been a relatively boring day and he was looking forward to a good nights rest. Reaching the final leg of the journey, he gazed upon the grander of the emperors palace. Kings palace He corrected himself. While in town he had seen a large flyer dominating a notice board. One of the many decrees was that the former Emperor William Horen III was to be now known as King William Horen III making this the kings palace. It seemed completely and utterly pointless to Johnny to change an insignificant title that had been held for generations, but who was he to complain. Shaking his head, he continued walking to the inn. And thats when he saw him.

Cloaked in the darkest shade of black, a lone figure was creeping through the shadows towards the emperor's palace. Kings palace he corrected himself yet again. Johnny's heartbeat inevitably quickened. Theres only one sort of person that goes sneaking around the kings palace, and that was an assassin. You're being ridiculous, its not a crime to wear black clothes Johnny thought to himself. But then the moonlight briefly shines on the man as he crosses between shadows and Johnny catches the faintest glint of metal from within his clothes. All doubts were banished from his mind.

Johnny glanced around. The nearest guards were a mere shout away. But if he yelled now the man could easily slip away before the guards reached him. He would need to give them time to close the gap, hopefully without getting stabbed.

"Wallace?" yelled Johnny in the dark clothed mans direction. The man instantly froze. Johnny jogged over. "By the beard of the wandering wizard, Wallace it IS you!" Johnny exclaimed. "Good gracious you're looking even uglier than last time I saw you" he added with a chuckle. And here came the the real dangerous move. Johnny embraced the man. He instantly stiffened and shoved Johnny away but it was long enough for Johnny to feel something firm dig into his body.

"Get away from me you lunatic" hissed the man "I have no idea who this Wallace person is but I am not him! Now I have very important business to attend to so if you will excuse me" and with that, the man turned around to keep walking. Johnny laid a hand on his arm to stop him.

The man looked down at the hand on his arm, as if not believing someone would dare lay a hand on him. He takes a step towards Johnny as if he was going to hit him, then looks over Johnny's shoulder and stops himself. After the push the two guards had started curiously walking over to see what the fuss was about. Now they were close.

"Whats going on here?" said the first guard from behind Johnny, a mere 10 feet away. The suspicious man instantly turned to run, and that was when Johnny struck.

One of the first things Johnny had learnt from brawls was that contrary to popular belief, punching was not a good move and tended to end up with broken and bruised knuckles. So instead, Johnny came forward, grabbing the mans neck with both hands and kneeing him hard in the gut. Should of gone for the groin Johnny instantly thought. As if to prove his point, the man absorbed the blow and broke out of Johnny's grip on his neck. He then promptly head butted Johnny in the face. Johnny fell to the ground, clutching at his nose. His nose had been broken more than once but it didn't exactly make it any less painful, and the blood was slowly trickling down his face. The force of the head but thankfully hadn't been hard enough to break it and send the blood gushing down his face but it would be swollen in the morning for sure.

The man grinned and turned around to run but ran straight into the first guard. But his reactions were good, even for an assassin, and he somehow managed to leap and kick off the first guard, sending the guard staggering back. However in mid air he collided straight into the fist of the second guard. There was a dull metallic ring mixed with the sickening crunch of bone and the man hit the ground in a heap. The guard had been wearing a gauntlet it would seem. The first guard, now recovered from being used as a spring board went over to the unconscious man and withdrew shackles from his belt which he clamped onto the wrist of the would be assassin. The second guard did the same with the mans ankles. They clearly weren't taking any chances. Hauling him up with some difficulty, they began dragging him towards the palace. One hand clutching his nose, Johnny waved behind their back

"Your welcome oh heroic and faithful guardsmen" he yelled after them "Tell the King he may send the reward to Jonathan Elers" sadly however, the guards just kept walking.

((I hope its ok that I used information from this post http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/92211-the-end-and-a-new-beginning/  ))

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: Johnny was aimlessly wondering the oaken forests near Abresi, wandering in and out of the great trees

"Hel-" came a frantic shout from within the forest, cut short by the thwack of skin on skin. The voice had sounded weak. Johnny strained to listen.  He heard two voices arguing, but was too far away to make out the words. Slowly, taking care not to make a sound, he crept closer towards the source of the voices. Finally, he reached a small clearing. In the clearing was a cozy cobbled cottage with smoke curling lazily around the chimney. It was all very calming. That was of course till he spotted a frail and weak looking old man shakily holding an iron dagger surrounded by two heavily armed bandits. The first of the bandits had a huge hooked nose that seemed to take up his whole face. The second of the bandits had teeth that even from his hiding place in the trees Johnny could see were black and yellow. They were arguing as to wether they should kill the old man or tie him up and leave him.

Johnny quickly looked at the bandits. The one with the big nose had a monstrosity of a sword strapped to his back and had a dagger strapped to his hip. He was wearing various pieces of leather armour of various colours and sizes, no doubt 'liberated' from fallen foes. The bandit with poor dental hygiene wore similar armour but instead carried a nimble rapier on his hip. Johnny looked at himself. True, he had leather armour and a sword, but they were more of a travel accessory. No one traveled without a sword these days. Johnny barely knew how to use the iron longsword strapped at his waist. The odds were not looking to be in his favour

And then, the most bizarre plan leapt into Johnny's head. So insane that it might actually work. Johnny had to act quickly. delicately placing his sword against the cloth shirt underneath his armour, he cut of a long strip. Next, he placed the sword against his exposed forearm and clenched his teeth and cut. The gash wasn't deep but Johnny still winced. A part of him wondered if the gash was necessary, but he instantly repelled the thought. For this to work, he had to run with it entirely. Johnny ran the flat of his blade against the open wound and before long the blade was significantly bloodied. He then used the cloth from his shirt to seal the wound. And now to see if it would all pay off.

"Release my slave this instant you pathetic excuses for bandits!" roared Johnny, leaping out from the forest. The bandits instantly whirled around to face him.

"Oy! We got to him first! Find your own target and shove off!" growled the bandit with the big noose

"You dare speak that way to me?!" Roared Johnny, a few steps away from the bandit. "I am Jonathan Hellhorn! I am the monster that haunts you in your sleep. I am the one feared by both law abiding and non law abiding citizens. I. AM. THE BANDIT KING!" The man with the poor dental hygiene actually took a step back and whimpered, causing the man with the big noose to scowl at him.

"You fear me?" Johnny said, his voice but a whisper. The man looked unsure "So you should. I have claimed more lives than either of you have ever seen and their blood oils my blade" at the last part he licked his blood from his sword. It tasted metallic and Johnny forced himself to keep a straight, evil, face while doing it.

"This man here" Johnny continued, pointing with his sword at the old man "Was my slave up until a few days ago. Thought he was so clever escaping"

"Little old for a slave aint he?" muttered the man with the big noose suspiciously yet with uncertainty

"What was that boy? Speak up!" Johnny spat in response

"I said" said the man with the big noose "That isn't he too old to be a slave"

"He makes good stew" Johnny said instantly in response "Probably better than Horen's first stew in Aegis" this drew nervous laughter from the bandits "Now do not begin to question me again!" Johnny yelled, his expression once again hard and firm.

"Now then, you two may either leave me and my slave in peace" Johnny said kindly "Or we may have a problem" at this his expression turned stone cold and he began slowly swishing the sword around small arcs. The bandit with the big nose shrugged nervously and turned to the man with poor dental hygiene and said "Lets get out of here, these two losers aren't worth squat" he tried to sound like he didn't care and that Johnny and the old man were not worth his time but his voice betrayed his fear. The man with bad teeth simply nodded.

"Hes all yours 'Bandit king' " said the man with the big noose, the last bit in a mocking tone. Johnny took a warning step towards him and the man turned on his heels and ran. The man looked around as if uncertain what to do. Johnny made a shooing gesture and said "Scram" and he did just that, fleeing after the man with bad teeth.

"Into the house, now!" Snarled Johnny. The bandits had run away but he couldn't risk them observing him from the trees. The old man slowly trudged into the cottage, uncertain about his fate. When they were finally inside the cozy little cottage, Johnny slammed the door. The cottage was nice, with a bed in the corner, a small table and little sink and bench. The moment they were inside, Johnny cracked up laughing. "Those idiots!" he laughed "MAN! that was fun! I would make a dam fine bandit king!" The old man seemed confused. "W-wwho are you?" he asked nervously, stuttering slightly

"Johnny Elers, doer of good deeds, saver of old men and as it would appear, part time bandit king. Man i'm good"

"So im free?" asked the old man with the faintest hint of a smile

"Of course. That is unless you really do make a good stew in which case i'm inclined to capture you as my slave" the old man paled at this "Just kidding" he quickly added, and made for the door, after wiping his blood from his sword on the bandage at his arm. "Oh and you might want to stay at an inn for a while in case the terrible two come back to check on you" and with that, he left

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: Johnny browsed through the Abresi market place, not looking for anything in particular, just killing some time by browsing. None of the shops really caught his eye. He cared little for the trinkets and souvenirs being sold. But then he noticed a shop that caught his eye. Curious, he wondered over. He instantly saw why the shop had drawn his attention. Amongst the various trinkets and general goods was a single tome. It didn't look too old but the shopkeeper had no doubt let it collect dust in the hopes of adding value to it.

"Why hello there good sir!" exclaimed the old shopkeeper. "Welcome to my humble shop. Everything you see is for sale and with no set price!" Johnny didn't respond, just picked up the book and glanced at it "Ahh yes" nodded the shopkeeper wisely "That'd be Magic 101 written by the fairly famous mage. Blundermore was his name I believe or something along those lines. The book is very, very rare and I came by it at great cost. What say we start things off at 500 minas eh?"

Johnnys head snapped
up at this. Before his death he had followed his father around on business and while he had never actually done the negotiating himself, he knew how this game worked. The first offer was nothing more than an ice breaker. But this man was taking a gamble and Johnny instantly called him out. "Magic 101 by Blundermore you say? Ive heard of it. Very well published book. I'l give you 50 minas for it " Johnny had read that same book more than once in libraries but had never had his own copy. Even though he had practically memorised it cover to back.

"You called me out" the merchant smiled, spreading his hands innocently "But I still have a family to feed. How about we say 100 minas" Johnny let loose a mock sigh "You have no ring nor ring mark, you stare at every maiden that passes and you scowl at any child that comes close to your store, something a father wouldn't really do now would he" rattled of Johnny, his tone slightly condescending "Were you anyone else i'd be angry at you for trying to cheat me. But its ok, your a merchant, and merchants are a deceptive and greedy lot." the merchant scowled at this "I think we can agree on 40 minas, don't you?" the merchant grumbled in response. Johnny took this to be a yes and handed him 41 minas "One for the family" He said with a wink and with that, he walked off, the book safely tucked under his arm
