An Old Light Goes Out

The first spark of warmth had been sparked somewhere in his cold, skeletal-body. His eyes burned with the familiar blue energy in the pits of his eyes but he kept his head low and listened to the people chatter in Malinor. It was the only way Eze'kiel Tarus could know what was going on in the world... not as though he could just ask someone brazenly in day light. But his head turned up as he heard it.

"The Tree Lord is dead."

He was frozen where he was. Certainly, he was still before, but now he couldn't move at all. His frosty blue eyes swirled in his head in contemplation.

If I were still dead- I would be with my brother too.

He couldn't express or show remorse. He was revived with the mission etched to his soul, to kill the living, strike fear into the enemies of the necromancers. He couldn't show anything but delight in his mission furthered.

In his soul it was another tally mark for the friends and family robbed from him.

Charles hears of the death of his Grandfather and moves over to the fire to think. Sighing heavily he remembers the good times when Haelphon and his father would take him out in the woods to hunt for game. He looks thoughtfully into the flames as they leap from the freshly cut oak wood.

"Rest in peace Grandfather and say hello to father for me when you see him."

Charles then walks over to his desk, sits down and begins writing a note.

"I shall end this destruction and war if it's the last thing I do."
